Huo Wu's opposition was met with nods from the others.
They acknowledged that Shi Feng's combat strength was extraordinary — he could even overpower the rare boss, Red Shadow Fierce Wolf, in a direct confrontation. Before, they had entertained the possibility that Shi Feng might stand up to a Great Boss. If so, there would even be hope for tackling the Level 25 Great Boss inside the Temple Ruins in the core zone of the White Fog Canyon.
After all, the drops from a Great Boss were far too enticing — especially a Level 25 one. Level 25 equipment drops were exactly what the main members of every major guild needed most. If it dropped an Epic-grade item, it would be a massive boost to the guild in terms of both morale and strength.
But now, having laid eyes on the Keeper of Anubis with their own feet, they suddenly felt incredibly small.
A Great Boss and a High Boss were creatures from two entirely different dimensions.
Forget standing up to a Great Boss — escaping one's pursuit alive would be nothing short of a miracle.
True, the treasure guarded by a Great Boss was precious. But going after the Gold Stone Disc meant a greater than ninety-nine percent chance of death. Such a deal was simply not worth it.
And who knew whether the teleportation magic circle would still work after seizing the Gold Stone Disc?
If it didn't, they would all die here…
"Guild Master, maybe we should come back when we have enough strength. Risking our lives right now over an unknown treasure just isn't worth it," Shuishui Qiangwei urged.
"Or you could all leave first, and I'll try on my own. If it doesn't work out, we can always come back later," Shi Feng shook his head and said.
Shuishui Qiangwei had a point — but she and the others didn't understand what it truly meant for a Great Boss to be guarding the Gold Stone Disc.
Shi Feng had ten years of adventuring experience in the Divine Realm. Any treasure protected by a Great Boss was at minimum Epic-grade. Dying once for an Epic-grade item was a small price to pay. But if they waited and came back later, someone else might have already snatched the Gold Stone Disc away. The Land of Falling Stars was hardly a well-kept secret.
The others heard the firm resolve in Shi Feng's tone and could only comply, walking toward the teleportation magic circle to prepare their departure from the Land of Falling Stars.
But just as Shuishui Qiangwei was about to activate the teleportation magic circle, her hand froze mid-gesture, and cold sweat beaded on her pale forehead.
Never mind Shuishui Qiangwei — everyone else standing around the teleportation magic circle wore dark expressions, as though facing a formidable enemy.
That cold, oppressive killing intent washed over them like submerging in ice water, making it difficult to even breathe.
"Guild Master, if we activate the teleportation magic circle, the Keeper of Anubis up there will attack," Huo Wu said cautiously, glancing up at the figure of the Keeper of Anubis hovering in midair.
"They really won't give us even a sliver of a chance," Shi Feng said with a bitter smile.
He had already activated his Eye of Omniscience and naturally sensed the Keeper of Anubis's cold, serpent-like gaze. The moment Shuishui Qiangwei dared to activate the teleportation magic circle, the Keeper of Anubis would launch an attack without hesitation.
From activation to actual teleportation, the magic circle required nearly twenty seconds. During that time, if the activator moved even slightly, the circle would automatically shut down.
Twenty seconds.
More than enough for a Level 30 Great Boss to slaughter hundreds of players — let alone a six-person party.
This was a special space. Players could not use Return Scrolls to leave.
Leashing the Great Boss for twenty seconds was the only way out. Otherwise, they would have to grind here until they died, or simply die once and lose experience, skill proficiency, and a piece of equipment.
If they didn't want to lose any equipment, they could simply strip down to nothing. Then there would be nothing to drop — at most, they might face the extremely rare chance of losing an item from their backpack.
"Looks like we have no choice but to go all in!"
Shi Feng racked his brain for a better solution but found none. The surrounding terrain offered no advantages. Although the entrance was narrow, the Keeper of Anubis was not particularly large either — it could fit through just as easily.
