The moment
The appearance of that crimson fire sent tremors rippling through the entire space, as though the very fabric of the dimension were about to be burned away into nothingness.
The crimson flame surged outward, devouring the surrounding rock walls.
BOOM!
With a thunderous detonation, countless chunks of stone exploded outward. What had been a cavern half the size of a room was instantly reduced to a space roughly the size of a small hut—and the walls on every side had been polished completely smooth, as if ground down by some impossibly precise tool.
"Such power!"
Shi Feng stared at the newly carved-out cavern, astonishment swelling inside him.
He had only meant to test the technique, yet it had actually worked. The Sacred Devour he'd managed to unleash was still far weaker than the second strike of the Azure Sacred Master—arguably incomplete—but its destructive force was already approaching that of a High Legendary power.
With this level of destruction, the efficiency of clearing a path toward the Legacy Shard would increase by dozens of times over.
Just as Shi Feng prepared to use Sacred Devour once more, a wave of dizziness crashed over him, accompanied by a sharp, stabbing pain in his skull—much like the sensation of having overexerted his mind.
"So Sacred Devour is still a bit too much for me right now?" Shi Feng muttered with a bitter smile.
Though he had successfully executed the technique, its toll on his mental energy was staggering—as though he had burned through more than a dozen Bronze Combat Arts in an instant. The consumption was simply terrifying.
At this rate, three or four more uses would drain his mental energy completely. And that was only possible because his mental fortitude had reached the Tier 4 threshold. Without it, that single strike would have forced him offline to recover.
As Shi Feng settled down to rest and contemplate ways to refine Sacred Devour and reduce its mental burden, the abyss rock wall he had blasted open suddenly began to tremble.
Before he could react, the shattered stone fragments scattered across the ground flew back together, coalescing into a humanoid rock golem roughly the height of a person. It erupted with a terrifying wave of magical power that instantly froze every particle of mana in the surrounding space, making it impossible for any player to draw even a wisp of external magical energy.
Heretic Guardian Golem. Non-Elemental Creature. High Grand Lord. Level 121. HP: 53,500,000.
"A non-elemental creature?" Shi Feng's eyes narrowed in surprise at the rock golem's sudden appearance.
In his memory, the Divine Realm had no such thing as non-elemental creatures. If something wasn't an elemental being, its race would be explicitly labeled—Giant, Elf, Beast, Magical Beast, and so on.
But before Shi Feng could process what was happening, the rock golem flickered forward and materialized right in front of him. Both of its arms had transformed into razor-sharp stone blades that tore through space itself. In a single instant, it unleashed more than a dozen slashes—its speed and reaction time far beyond what any High Grand Lord in the outside world could match, rivaling Tier 4 Legendary monsters in every respect.
Shi Feng was no pushover, however. As a Domain master, his base attributes were not inferior to Legendary monsters of the same level. Even same-level Legendary creatures struggled to land hits on him, let alone a golem whose speed and reflexes merely approached the Legendary tier.
In his hand, the Abyssal bloomed into a cascade of starlight.
Sword Orbit!
Clang, clang, clang—
The golem's dozen-odd slashes were deflected in an instant, and wave after wave of dark sword light surged forward to engulf the rock golem instead.
The moment the dark blade energy struck the golem's body, a crisp, metallic clang echoed throughout the cavern.
The strikes that landed on the rock golem left absolutely no damage—not a scratch. In fact, Shi Feng himself was forced back half a step, his arm gripping the Abyssal trembling violently, as though he had just struck a blade against divine iron.
"What kind of monster is this?" Shi Feng stared at the completely unscathed golem—its HP hadn't dropped by even a single point—and disbelief filled his eyes.
The Abyssal in his hands could cut the skin of upper-stage Legendary creatures, yet when cleaved against this golem, it hadn't even left a white mark, let alone dealt any damage. Its defense was utterly heaven-defying.
Yet Shi Feng's shock did nothing to slow the golem's assault. It continued attacking him relentlessly, slash after slash.
The battle dragged on for several minutes, and the rock golem showed no signs of fatigue or hesitation—it moved like an inexhaustible machine. As for Shi Feng, his hundred-plus strikes against the golem had accomplished nothing whatsoever. Even deploying Light and Shadow had been equally useless.
"Is it invincible?"
Facing the golem's ceaseless onslaught, Shi Feng felt a headache creeping in.
He had just glimpsed hope of obtaining the Legacy Shard, only for destroying the rock wall to trigger this monster. It had barely fifty million HP—defeating it should have been easy. Yet he couldn't so much as scratch it.
