As the only inn in Lightforged City that was open exclusively to nobles, ordinary players and NPCs couldn't set foot inside, let alone afford the prices — which were beyond anything an average inn could offer.
A standard room cost three hundred Magic Crystals or ten Contribution Points, a price that even the newly ennobled Silent Crimson Star and his companions weren't willing to pay just to rest.
Yet Shi Feng walked straight through the entrance without a moment's hesitation, drawing astonished stares from passing members of Violet Sword and the Azure Commerce Alliance.
Three hundred Magic Crystals or ten Contribution Points — neither was a trivial amount. For the sole purpose of resting and recovering, such extravagance was entirely unnecessary. An ordinary inn would do the job for one Contribution Point or thirty Magic Crystals.
"How may I serve you, my lord?" A Level 180 female attendant spotted Shi Feng as he strode into the lobby and hurried over with a respectful bow.
"I'd like to rest in one of your standard rooms," Shi Feng said, producing three hundred Magic Crystals and handing them directly to the NPC attendant.
"Very well." After verifying the crystals, the attendant produced a crystal key and offered it to Shi Feng. "Here is the key to your room, my lord. You may choose any vacant room upstairs."
Shi Feng took the key without another word and headed straight for the second floor.
The moment he stepped into a room on the second floor, he felt the ambient mana surge around him. In a matter of moments, the mana concentration inside the room had more than doubled compared to the outside — and on top of that, a subtle sense of ease and tranquility settled over him.
"Just as I expected. The mana density here is far superior to an ordinary inn," Shi Feng murmured, giving a slight nod as he assessed the room.
If he'd simply needed a normal rest, an ordinary inn would have sufficed. But his current goal wasn't mere recovery — it was to access the ancient legacy stored within the Memory Crystal. He couldn't afford to be careless.
The noble inn was also considerably safer than its common counterparts, something immediately evident from the attendants and guards stationed in the lobby. Every single one of them was a Level 180 Tier 3 class — not the kind of people any current player would dare provoke.
Beyond that, the inn's magical formations were extraordinarily powerful. It was equipped with four layers of defensive arrays, and under normal circumstances even a Tier 5 class would struggle to breach them, let alone Tier 3 or Tier 4.
With the external environment sorted, Shi Feng promptly retrieved the Memory Crystal from his inventory and prepared to access the information within.
Memory Crystals had an expiration window. Once two natural days had passed, the legacy would be inaccessible no matter how much a player wanted it.
He'd already spent a great deal of time raising his mental strength. What remained was less than three hours…
"My mental strength has reached the Tier 4 threshold now. That should be enough to read it," Shi Feng said to himself, a hint of nervousness in his voice as he tapped the Memory Crystal in his hand.
Of everything he'd gained from this trip to the ancient secret realm, the Memory Crystal containing the ancient legacy was unquestionably the greatest prize. Its value alone eclipsed all other spoils combined — easily exceeding half their total worth.
If he still couldn't read its contents, it would be absolutely heartbreaking.
The instant Shi Feng activated the crystal, a system notification rang in his ears.
System Warning: A major memory entity has been detected. Based on a mental-strength assessment, fully extracting this memory entity carries a small probability of plunging the player into a deep coma. Proceed with extraction?
"Even Tier 4 mental strength still carries a risk?" Shi Feng stared at the system prompt, momentarily stunned. "What on earth is sealed inside this thing?"
Tier 4 mental strength wasn't the absolute pinnacle within the Divine Realm, but it was firmly in the upper echelon — the kind of level that would command a kingdom's king to treat you with utmost respect.
Yet even at Tier 4, extracting this information was dangerous. It was something he had never even heard of before.
