The tomb, towering like a small building, sat near the heart of the forest. Even approaching it was a monumental task—the undead were several times denser here than along the forest's outer edge. A lone Tier 2 player couldn't even get close, let alone charge into the burial grounds.
Facing several hundred lord-tier undead charging straight at him, even Shi Feng felt his scalp tingle.
Fortunately, he had twenty-one Abyss Phantoms to hold the line. With their strength exceeding that of the lord-tier undead, they could just barely keep the horde from closing in. The problem was that the Abyss Phantoms had a limited duration and couldn't hold back the endless waves indefinitely.
If the undead got through, Shi Feng was confident he could survive their attacks and escape—but that would be all he could do. He'd be too busy fending them off to accomplish anything else.
The key to obtaining the inheritance came down to one thing: how long the Abyss Phantoms could last.
"Just as I estimated—forty-two seconds to reach the tomb." Shi Feng glanced at the remaining time on the Abyss Phantoms and breathed a quiet sigh of relief.
The reason he hadn't chosen the magnificent temple at the very center of the forest wasn't just because of the Tier 4 spirit. The other half was simply a lack of time. This second-tier burial ground was already the limit of what he could reach.
Before Shi Feng could even catch his breath inside the tomb, the spirit standing silently before a gravestone—clad in silver armor, gripping a flame-wreathed battle blade—abruptly opened its eyes. In an instant, the entire burial space was blanketed by a pale crimson domain. Shi Feng's stats, constitution, and movement speed all began plummeting wildly, finally stabilizing after a full 20% reduction.
Urdia (Blazing Knight), Spirit, Tier 3 War King, Level 101, HP: 78,000,000.
"An autonomous domain?!" Shi Feng's expression changed drastically upon seeing Urdia's information.
He had never doubted that this spirit possessed the power to one-shot Tier 3 players—but he hadn't expected it to be this strong.
Compared to other Tier 3 spirits, Urdia's HP hadn't increased by a huge margin—only about twenty million more. But for spirits of the same tier and level, HP was largely a reflection of overall strength. That meant Urdia was over thirty percent stronger than the previous Tier 3 spirits in raw stats alone. The boost to combat power went without saying. On top of that, Urdia wielded an autonomous domain—a capability generally reserved for Tier 4 NPCs. Slaying a Tier 3 player would be as simple as a game.
"Adventurer, you're bold—coming to this place of eternal rest to seek the Saint's inheritance. You're the first in over a thousand years. I hope you can bring me some entertainment." Unlike the previous spirits that had attacked without hesitation, Urdia spoke and laughed like a living person, advancing toward Shi Feng with slow, deliberate steps.
A chill shot straight up Shi Feng's spine.
Spirits were not NPCs, after all, and their intelligence was typically far lower. A Tier 3 spirit with this level of awareness—Shi Feng had never encountered one like it before.
Urdia was already within fifty yards. Not daring to let his guard down, Shi Feng wordlessly produced the Ring of the Gospel, burning seven thousand magic crystals in a single burst to activate the Ring of Radiance and the Miniature World.
But that still wasn't enough. He unleashed Blade Liberation to send his base stats skyrocketing, and simultaneously triggered Twilight Edge's Twilight of the Gods and Twilight Shadow, conjuring eight solid phantoms.
Because Shi Feng's own skills had dramatically boosted his base stats, each solid phantom inherited that enhanced power. Every one of them now approached the strength of a same-level High Lord. Eight High Lord-tier phantoms fighting together could even challenge a Tier 4 Legendary creature.
But before Shi Feng could command the phantoms into action, Urdia vanished from his spot—in the next instant, he appeared directly in front of all eight phantoms, his flame-wreathed battle blade slashing downward with terrifying force.
Eight arcs of blade light bloomed outward, hurtling toward each phantom respectively.
The phantoms reacted swiftly, raising their swords to block. Yet the instant their blades met the arcs of light, they were sent tumbling backward over ten yards, as though struck by a battering ram. Their blades hummed with a low, pained resonance, and each lost over twenty thousand HP…
"Bronze Rank combat skill?" Shi Feng's face darkened as he watched the eight dissipating arcs of blade light.
