Chapter 1999: Domain of Sin

"The experience points are truly generous!"

As the Thunder Beast collapsed, Shi Feng glanced at his experience bar and clicked his tongue softly.

His experience bar had jumped by 11%. Under normal circumstances, gaining that much experience would take him the better part of a day, yet here he'd managed it in under twenty minutes.

At this rate, killing just ten bosses like this would be enough to level up directly…

Of course, Shi Feng knew the Thunder Beast was a special boss, so its experience reward being so rich wasn't entirely surprising.

Normally, when a twenty-person team took down a Great Lord of the same level, every member would receive a decent chunk of experience. Cross-level kills were even more rewarding. But when a single player absorbed the full experience pool, the boost was enormous. If this had been a typical level 70 player, the gain would have exceeded 20% at a minimum.

After the Thunder Beast died, it had also dropped over thirty items, which delighted Shi Feng greatly.

In the Divine Realm, monsters above level 50 typically dropped very few items. Great Lord-level monsters usually yielded only a dozen or so at most, and even ordinary field Legendary bosses rarely dropped more than thirty or forty items. The reason the Legendary monsters he'd killed before had dropped so many was entirely due to the first-kill bonus — without it, even World-class bosses wouldn't have produced that many.

Being the first to kill the Thunder Beast and receiving over thirty drops was already excellent.

More than half of the drops were materials — all unique components from the Thunder Beast's body.

Thunder Beast Hide, an Epic-grade material. When incorporated into leather armor crafting, it could add not only fixed attributes but also a lightning resistance effect.

Thunder Beast Claw, a quasi-Legendary-grade material. Smelting it into a weapon during forging would boost the weapon's attack power while imbuing it with lightning attribute damage.

…

These materials were the kind that every secondary profession — Tailoring, Leatherworking, Blacksmithing, Alchemy, Enchanting, Engineering — would kill to get their hands on, and every single piece was extraordinarily valuable.

For a Blacksmith in particular, the Thunder Beast Claw was worth no less than an ordinary Epic-grade weapon. In the Divine Realm, materials that could grant lightning attribute attack effects were exceedingly rare, since lightning attacks possessed an extremely strong piercing effect.

Any weapon that carried lightning attribute damage could drastically reduce the effectiveness of enemy defenses, whether against monsters or players alike — unless the target had very high lightning resistance. But defensive gear with lightning resistance was just as rare in the Divine Realm, and few players could obtain equipment that boosted lightning resistance.

This was precisely why melee players deeply craved a weapon personally forged by a Master Blacksmith that carried lightning attribute effects. Whether for team DPS or PvP, such a weapon provided a significant advantage.

"As expected of a Unique boss — the drops are astonishing." Shi Feng's eyes lit up as he examined the weapon and equipment drops.

The Thunder Beast had dropped a total of seven weapons and equipment pieces. Six of those were equipment, all level 70, and three of them were level 70 Gold-grade equipment — a full tier above level 60 Dark Gold-grade gear.

They were a cloth robe, a pair of leather pants, and a pair of plate boots.

Of these, the plate boots — the Thunder Warboots — caught Shi Feng's eye the most. While the cloth robe and leather pants were both excellent, the active skill attached to the Thunder Warboots was perfectly suited for plate-class players.

Not only did the boots grant ten points of lightning resistance as a rare attribute, but their active skill, Thunder Shadow, was immensely powerful. It transformed the user into a bolt of lightning for ten seconds, granting lightning-fast movement speed while rendering the player unable to attack. The moment the player struck out, the lightning transformation would end. The skill had a ten-minute cooldown.

For plate-class players, whose mobility was typically lackluster, this effectively compensated for their speed deficiency — invaluable for both chasing down targets and escaping danger.

Moreover, the Thunder Warboots' base stats far surpassed the level 60 Gold-grade boots Shi Feng was currently wearing.
