Shi Feng's calm response left Nan Lang completely stunned.
He had already made Shi Feng aware of the Underworld's resources and terrifying power, yet Shi Feng still stubbornly chose to oppose them and refused to hand over the flame.
This was the first time Nan Lang had ever encountered someone like this.
"Do you really think that because you know Bai Qingxue, the Underworld won't dare touch you? If so, you're dead wrong," Nan Lang sneered. "Even the currently famous Snake of the Body wouldn't dare go against the Underworld, let alone a mere vice president. Bai Qingxue can't protect you. I'll give you one more chance — hand over the flame, and you can still enjoy your time in the Divine Realm in peace. Otherwise, you won't have a single corner of the Divine Realm to hide in."
"Seems like you really can't understand human language, or is it that there's something wrong with your intelligence?" Shi Feng scoffed. "You think you can take something from me with just a few words? Do you think the Divine Realm is your family business? Let me tell you again — if you've got what it takes, come at me. I'd love to see what you can do to me."
In his previous life, he might very well have submitted. But things were different now — he had the capital and the confidence to stand up against a behemoth like the Underworld.
Shi Feng's goal after rebirth was to accomplish what he had failed to do in his previous life: build his own virtual empire. This path was destined to put him against all the major powers in the Divine Realm.
If he bowed his head to the Underworld now, how could he ever face the dominators of the Divine Realm later, fighting for resources, territories, equipment, and everything else?
Although the Underworld's influence was enormous and their power in the real world was no small thing, in the face of the Divine Realm — a second world valued by every nation on the globe — no faction could interfere with the Main God System, let alone a single organization like the Underworld.
Even if the Underworld wanted to investigate his real-world identity, they couldn't do it. Virtual games had been developed and refined over more than a century, and the protection of player ** was thorough. They couldn't even trace someone's real identity through virtual transactions.
"Very well. Looks like you're truly determined to oppose the Underworld. Then get ready to go to hell." Nan Lang smiled from pure fury — he never expected someone who genuinely wasn't afraid of death, someone who refused to see the coffin before shedding tears.
In Nan Lang's eyes, Shi Feng was nothing more than a free player who had no idea how terrifying the Underworld really was. That was the only reason he dared spout such arrogant words — overconfident, overestimating himself, an idiot who didn't even know what fear was.
The Underworld's main forces spanned two empires and several kingdoms, including the Star Moon Kingdom. As long as he reported this matter to his superiors, a free player like Shi Feng wouldn't last a few days in the Divine Realm before being forced to surrender that epic-grade item that could wield flame.
"Hell? I've already been there more times than I can count. Yours won't be anything new," Shi Feng shrugged with a smile.
He possessed the Ice Blue Demonic Flame. With his current combat strength, he wasn't afraid of any player. If they wanted to hunt him down, he'd just play guerrilla — he leveled up fast and could absolutely outlast them. He didn't believe any guild or faction could afford to spend that much manpower and resources at Red Leaf Town just to keep chasing him.
After finishing his piece, Shi Feng hung up the communication.
"Brother Feng, did something happen?" Hei Zi had overheard the call and could feel Shi Feng's anger.
"Nothing. Just some guy trying to pull a robbery," Shi Feng shook his head, casually describing the Underworld as some common highway bandit. "Let's focus on getting information out of the NPCs instead."
"Okay," Hei Zi nodded.
Shi Feng made it sound easy, but Hei Zi knew it wasn't nearly as simple as Shi Feng made it out to be. He silently cursed himself for being unable to help — if only his strength were greater, maybe he could actually back Shi Feng up.
It wasn't just Hei Zi who sensed something was off. Jimo Ruxue had noticed it too, and silently resented her own lack of strength.
