The night sky seemed to be drizzling. In this desolate little park, overgrown with weeds and slated for demolition, Chen Ge encountered a strange woman.
"Excuse me, do you know Fang Yu?"
The woman seemed to know only this one sentence. She looked at Chen Ge, her clear eyes like lakes on a highland plateau, without a single impurity.
"Fang Yu?" Chen Ge took out the photograph and handed it to the woman. "Is it him?"
Holding the photo in both hands, the woman stared at the boy in it for a very long time, then shook her head. "I don't know."
"This photo was taken right here in the park. The boy is facing the camera, and the photographer was standing right about here." Chen Ge stood up and walked over to the fountain. "Still no memory at all?"
The woman stood in place, her eyes blank with confusion.
"Alright, maybe I've got the wrong person." Chen Ge returned to the bench, and after a while, the woman sat down on it as well.
She carried a faint scent of shampoo on her person, and her clothes were very clean — not the kind of appearance you'd expect from someone unable to live independently.
"Um… can I ask you a question?" Chen Ge glanced at the woman. Her profile was quite beautiful, though most of her cheek was covered by an elaborate array of tattoos, lending a trace of fear to what was otherwise a striking sight.
"Why do you come here at night looking for Fang Yu?"
"It seems like I come every day, but I don't know why."
"Do you know that this park is about to be demolished? After that, you probably won't be able to come here anymore." Chen Ge held the photo and looked at the woman intently.
After hearing his words, the woman didn't respond. She simply stared blankly at the name tattooed on the back of her hand.
"Why are you looking for Fang Yu? Is he family?" Chen Ge tried to communicate with the woman. He wanted to get through to her — only by learning more could he help her.
"I don't remember. But I tattooed his name all over my body. I probably didn't want to forget him."
Raindrops drifted down. In the dilapidated park, two strangers sat on a rusted bench.
"Actually… I know Fang Yu." Chen Ge lowered his head. The woman beside him looked over in surprise.
"You know Fang Yu?" The woman stood up. "C-can you take me to see him?"
"I can. But before that, I want to confirm one more thing." Chen Ge placed the photo in front of the woman once more. "You truly have no impression of this boy at all? I noticed you staring at the photo for a very long time just now."
"No impression. I've never seen him before. But…" The woman pointed at the boy in the photo, the one whose face was blank. "He seems to be very important to me."
The woman's words struck Chen Ge like a bolt of lightning. He recalled the black phone's description of the photograph — *The first time I realized I'd forgotten you started when I saw your photo. I don't remember who the person in the photo is. I only feel that he's very important to me.*
"Keep this photo." Chen Ge pressed the photograph into the woman's hand.
"Why are you giving me the photo?" The woman looked puzzled.
"The faceless boy in the photo is Fang Yu." Chen Ge had been watching the woman's reaction the entire time. Only after learning that the boy in the photograph was Fang Yu did a glimmer of light return to her eyes.
She was like a baby opening its eyes to the world for the very first time. Those clear, limpid eyes gazed at the faceless boy in the photograph.
"Can you help me find him?"
