"Is this Lin Sisi's self-portrait? But why didn't he draw his own facial features?"
"Does the phone's wallpaper keep changing? Every time a different Lin Sisi appears, the painted portrait changes too?"
This phone was a treasure trove for Chen Ge. There was so much he needed to learn.
His finger moved, and he first opened the phone's gallery: "The camera and video functions both work fine, but the existing images in the phone's gallery look really unsettling."
It took Chen Ge quite a while to figure out what was wrong — every single photo and image in the gallery contained no human figures at all. They were all landscape shots.
"Were the photos with people deleted? Or can the people in this school simply not be captured by a camera?" Chen Ge boldly conducted an experiment on himself. He raised the phone and snapped a photo of his own face.
The phone was extremely old — it didn't even have a front-facing camera, and the photo it produced was very blurry.
Chen Ge gave it a cursory glance at first, not paying much attention. But as he kept looking, his pupils contracted sharply.
The photo taken with Lin Sisi's phone not only contained Chen Ge, but also his shadow behind him. What was even more eerie was that in the photo, Chen Ge's shadow was thin and pitiful, hugging its knees with its body curled up tight.
"This phone can photograph the dark figure from Room 413? This phone can photograph ghosts?!"
Chen Ge suddenly understood why none of the photos in the phone's original gallery contained any human figures.
"All photos that captured human figures must have been manually deleted. The question is whether it was Lin Sisi who deleted them, or something else entirely."
The phone had been tampered with, but Chen Ge was still incredibly excited. He had discovered another noteworthy detail — the dark figure in the photo retained its most authentic appearance. In other words, Lin Sisi's phone likely possessed the ability to see through disguises and reveal a ghost's true form.
"With this phone, I can avoid a lot of danger. Knowing what a vengeful ghost truly looks like in advance will let me formulate the most targeted plans."
Chen Ge felt that ever since encountering the dark figure, his luck had improved considerably.
He took several more photos of himself, verified his hypothesis, and then deleted all of them, returning the phone to its original state.
Lin Sisi's phone was extremely old. Apart from the camera and video functions, only a few very basic features remained.
Chen Ge then opened the phone book. Inside, there was only one landline number, with the name listed as — Home.
He opened the recent call log. It only contained records from the past twenty-four hours.
What was worth noting was that within those twenty-four hours, someone had used Lin Sisi's phone to make over a dozen consecutive calls to two unfamiliar numbers. The time of the last call had even been right before Chen Ge regained consciousness.
"With such frequent calls, Lin Sisi must have sensed something. The fact that he kept calling these two numbers means the owners of those numbers could offer him help." Chen Ge was now Lin Sisi in everyone's eyes. After weighing his options for a moment, he dialed the first unfamiliar number.
After more than a dozen rings, no one picked up.
"Why won't they answer?"
Chen Ge was getting anxious. The other end neither hung up nor answered — they just let it ring.
"Is the person's phone not nearby? Or are they also deliberating whether or not to pick up?"
