Chapter 414: I Want to Help You

could see it clearly on the surveillance footage — Zhang Li and the woman beside him had deliberately avoided the students from Jiujiang Forensic Medical College. It seemed like they had a rather bad relationship with those students.

In the computer footage, Zhang Li and the woman showed no particularly intimate behavior. They didn't look like lovers; more like siblings.

"Could this woman be Zhang Shihan?"

Li Zheng had mentioned this woman to Chen Ge before. Ma Ying's sister had gotten into a verbal altercation with Zhang Shihan before she disappeared, which was why Zhang Shihan had been placed on the suspect list at the time.

In the surveillance footage, the two of them were no different from any other visitors — they ran around when they saw something terrifying, and they screamed when they hit the scare points.

However, as time went on, Chen Ge gradually noticed something rather peculiar.

Zhang Shihan had originally been walking ahead of Zhang Li. She was a student at the forensic college, so it made sense that her psychological fortitude would be stronger than Zhang Li, a security guard.

But at the final stage of the ghost wedding scene, the moment appeared, Zhang Shihan was so frightened she nearly collapsed to the ground. Her body had tilted backward, and from the surveillance it was clearly Zhang Li who braced her back.

Even from their expressions, it was obvious that while Zhang Shihan had already been scared witless, Zhang Li had remained perfectly composed.

"A forensic student who regularly deals with corpses — how could she be less courageous than a security guard?"

After that, Zhang Shihan and Zhang Li entered the Midnight Hunt scene. While facing 's pursuit, Zhang Shihan was tense and panicked, but Zhang Li's expression remained eerily calm.

"There's something about this security guard — feels like he's seen some serious things."

The two visitors left after finishing the Midnight Hunt, and Chen Ge pulled up the surveillance footage of the haunted house entrance from the same time period.

Zhang Shihan and Zhang Li were standing in a corner of the rest hall. Though Zhang Shihan's face was pale, she was clearly excited, gesticulating wildly as she talked to Zhang Li.

Zhang Li also showed a rare smile, as if his sister's happiness was enough to make him happy too.

By the end, Zhang Shihan seemed to be suggesting they visit the two-star scenes. She grabbed Zhang Li to get back in line, but he waved his hands frantically, refusing to go no matter what.

"Why won't Zhang Li go near the two-star horror scenes? Could he sense that the two-star scenes contain real ghosts?"

The siblings lingered in the rest hall for quite a while before going on to visit the other attractions.

"Zhang Shihan's behavior is fairly normal, but something's off with Zhang Li."

After thinking for a moment, Chen Ge stuffed his employee ID into his pocket, slung his bag over his shoulder, and walked out of the haunted house.

"Before Li Zheng calls back, I need to gather as much information about the underground morgue as possible."

Hurrying to Jiujiang Forensic Medical College, Chen Ge headed straight for the security booth. He peered inside, but Zhang Li was nowhere to be seen.

"Excuse me, is Zhang Li here? I'm staff from Century Paradise. He visited today and left something behind at our place."

"Something got lost, and you're delivering it in person?" The one who spoke was a plump security guard. He looked quite prosperous — well, generous around the midsection, at least. The bottom button of his uniform was practically straining to hold on.

"Not at all, not at all — it's the least we can do." Chen Ge glanced at the man's ID badge. His name was Wang Erbao. "Would it be convenient to share where your dormitory is? I'd like to return the item personally, go through everything face to face, and make sure nothing else is missing."

"Old Zhang's got a strange temper. He can't get along with any of us, so he moved out on his own. You can try finding him at Haiming Apartments."

"Haiming Apartments?" Chen Ge was slightly startled — that was exactly where Door Nan's secondary personality had once lived.

"You haven't heard of it? That's understandable. That old building is falling apart — dirty and messy, with absolutely no redeeming qualities besides being cheap."

"Which room does he live in?"
