Chapter 3568: Little Bastard (With Notice)

January 17, 2020 · 5 min read · 1,088 words

Uh, I posted the wrong chapter yesterday — I accidentally pasted in the content from a later chapter. Chapter 3567 has now been corrected, so subscribers just need to refresh. This chapter's content is the same as what was published last night, so there's no need to subscribe again.

The thing is, Xiao Mo always keeps three chapters in reserve, mainly for catching errors, adjusting plot points, or having a buffer in case something comes up and I can't write. Yesterday I must have accidentally swapped in the next chapter's content during the review. I'm speechless.

That said, that Prince Yang is really something. They say he's only a High-Rank Demon King, yet he managed to kill a Half-Saint — it's almost unbelievable. When he first heard the news, he couldn't believe it either. He even made a trip to Flying Cloud Continent to investigate personally. Only after confirming the facts did he return to report.

To kill a Half-Saint with the strength of a High-Rank Demon King — across the entire Demon Domain, if such a thing hadn't happened before, it had certainly never happened before him. Even the various Saint Venerables hadn't accomplished such a feat in their younger days. In a way, he found himself utterly admiring that Prince Yang's courage and power.

Just as he was nervously waiting, he heard the Saint Venerable Yu Rumeng grit her teeth behind the desk and curse: "Little bastard!"

Little bastard? The Demon King's expression turned somewhat peculiar at the hearing. That form of address felt rather strange, and besides… the Saint Venerable's fury didn't seem nearly as fearsome as he'd anticipated.

It seemed the rumors he'd heard… weren't entirely baseless. The relationship between the Saint Venerable and that Prince Yang really did seem to be something out of the ordinary.

"Tell me in detail — how exactly did he kill Yin Si?"

Upon hearing this, the Demon King immediately laid out the full details of the battle from three days prior. He had personally traveled to Flying Cloud Continent and sought out several survivors from that day to question them, so he had a thorough understanding of what had happened. As he recounted it, it was as though he had witnessed the whole thing himself — not a single detail was off.

A moment later, Yu Rumeng's voice came again from behind the desk, carrying an unmistakable note of surprise: "You're saying that from beginning to end, he fought Yin Si one-on-one, with no one else intervening?"

"Based on my investigation, that appears to be the case. However, after Prince Yang killed Lord Yin Si, he seemed to be completely spent. It was only when the Demon Kings on Flying Cloud Continent moved against him that he summoned Zhui Feng to escort him out."

"He actually managed to pull that off…" Yu Rumeng's expression grew complicated. But thinking about it more carefully, Yin Si's death wasn't entirely unjust. As a Charm Demon, she must have been extremely confident in her soul arts. But ever since Yang Kai had been intimate with her, his spiritual soul power had surged to a level that even Half-Saints couldn't match. On top of that, the Charm Demon clan's charm techniques were completely useless against him.

Presumably Yin Si had lost the initiative to Yang Kai for exactly those reasons and found herself at a disadvantage.

Adding to that, Yin Si had still been severely wounded from the Battle of Zhoutian. Although more than a month had passed, she certainly hadn't fully recovered. Even as the ruler of Flying Cloud Continent, it was hard to say how much of her strength she could actually bring to bear — and that was what had allowed Yang Kai to accomplish such a feat.

If it had been a Half-Saint at full strength, Yang Kai absolutely could not have pulled this off on his own.

But still… the moment that man had left Phantom Continent, he had gone straight after Yin Si. That was somewhat beyond her expectations, and in the end he had actually killed her!

If word of this got out, she would undoubtedly become a laughingstock among the other Demon Saints. Yu Rumeng could already imagine the hateful expression Bei Li Mo would wear the next time they met — truly infuriating!

While she was lost in thought, the Demon King below ventured cautiously: "How should this matter be handled? I await the Saint Venerable's instruction."

The death of a Half-Saint was no small matter. If it wasn't handled properly, it could cause unrest among the other Half-Saints. Yin Si had followed Yu Rumeng for many years — to be killed so senselessly on her own territory demanded some kind of explanation.

"Where is that little bastard now?" Yu Rumeng asked, her face dark.

"His whereabouts are unknown. Since Prince Yang departed three days ago riding Zhui Feng, no one has seen him."

"Find him! Get him found for me. He's definitely gravely injured right now. Once you find him, bring him back to the Holy City — I'll deal with him personally!"

Although Yu Rumeng said this through gritted teeth, looking as though she wanted to eat Yang Kai alive, the Demon King still picked up an entirely different message from her words — the Saint Venerable truly doted on that Prince. Otherwise, why would she order him brought back to the Holy City? She could have simply sent a few Half-Saints to kill him on the spot.

Lord Yin Si's death was apparently going to go unpunished.

"Oh, and publicly, say that Yin Si had been colluding with the traitor Yue Sang and had been plotting something nefarious a month ago. Her death now is nothing more than the deserved consequence of her own actions."

Just as expected…

The Demon King responded respectfully, then hesitated for a moment before asking: "What about… Lord Dili? Should we send someone to inform him?"

He clearly knew what had happened on Zhoutian Continent as well. If Yang Kai had gone after Yin Si and even killed her, he certainly wouldn't spare Dili either. Just the thought of it made his scalp tingle. That Prince Yang had killed Yin Si single-handedly — he would certainly be a match for Lord Dili. And besides, he had Zhui Feng at his side. If he really went looking for Dili, it would be chaos all over again.

"Dili has already gone to the Two Realms Battlefield. There's no need to inform him," Yu Rumeng said coolly.
