Chapter 2861 — My World

January 17, 2020 · 6 min read · 1,142 words

In a tranquil and serene world, Sha Ya flew forward with her brow tightly furrowed. The fatal piercing wound in her chest had long since vanished without a trace — only a few bloodstains remained on her clothes.

The Demon Race had always been blessed with extraordinary vitality, and for a powerhouse like Sha Ya, the saying that a demon would not die so long as its Demon Heart endured was no idle boast.

She had been trapped here for several days.

There were no sun, moon, or stars in this place, yet there was ample light. The environment was exceedingly pleasant, and the spiritual energy between heaven and earth was surprisingly dense.

But she felt not the slightest hint of joy. A few days ago, she had been ambushed from behind by that fellow called Wu Niu. At the moment she was gravely wounded, she had inexplicably arrived in this world of birdsong and fragrant flowers, of picturesque scenery.

Sha Ya had thought she was dreaming.

But the piercing wound in her chest had made it clear that this was reality.

What was this place? Why had she been brought here? She couldn't figure it out. After carefully searching her surroundings, she had found not a single clue. All Sha Ya could do was press onward, searching for a possible way out.

But even with her strength as a Demon King, after expending several days of effort, she had still found absolutely nothing.

This world was like a boundless cage, and she was the beast imprisoned within it. No matter how hard she tried, she could not escape its confinement.

Sha Ya's mood was exceedingly dark. Thinking of that bastard who had stabbed her in the back, she nearly ground her silver teeth to dust.

She simply could not understand — after swallowing her Demon Heart's blood, how could that Wu Niu still betray her? And why hadn't she sensed even a trace of treachery in him?

By the Demon Race's standards of power, Wu Niu's aura was that of a mere Demon Commander — an entire major realm below her as a Demon King. How could he possibly resist the blood of her Demon Heart?

There were far too many things she couldn't figure out! She had discovered that ever since encountering that fellow called Wu Niu a few days ago, she had suffered setback after setback, to the point where she now didn't even know where she was.

But regardless, she had to spread this intelligence. That brat was far too bizarre — even she had fallen prey to him. If the other Demon Kings encountered him, they would need to be wary as well.

Just as these thoughts were running through her mind, Sha Ya suddenly halted in her tracks, her slender brows furrowing slightly.

In that instant, she had felt a sensation of being watched — something that had not happened in the entire days she'd been here. This world seemed to contain only her, with no trace of any other living soul.

Filled with suspicion, Sha Ya turned her head to look. In the next moment, seething flames of hatred erupted in her beautiful eyes. She bared her teeth and hissed at the figure hovering motionless in midair over there: "Wu Niu!"

Yang Kai offered her a faint smile: "Good morning, Your Majesty the Demon King."

"Good morning, my foot!" Even Sha Ya, whose composure was far from lacking, could not help but erupt with a coarse curse. In this godforsaken place with no sun, moon, or stars, how was she supposed to know whether it was morning or evening? Of course, that wasn't the point. The point was that meeting one's enemy face to face made one's eyes burn red.

Although the wound had already healed, the moment she laid eyes on Wu Niu, Sha Ya could still clearly feel the pain emanating from her Demon Heart. The wound that had been pierced through seemed on the verge of splitting open again, filling her with soul-rending agony.

Yang Kai was unfazed by her rudeness. He simply smiled mildly and said: "It seems I guessed right. Even if your Demon Heart were truly destroyed, you still wouldn't die. Do demons all have lives that stubborn?"

Sha Ya's expression turned cold. Instead of answering, she shot back a question: "What is this place? What did you bring me here for?"

"This place, hmm…" Yang Kai raised his eyes slightly, his gaze piercing through the void as though he could see the very edge of the world. Spreading his arms wide, he declared: "This is my world. In this place, I am the sovereign!"

Sha Ya let out a derisive scoff, clearly thinking Yang Kai was talking nonsense. A mere Demon Commander-level nobody, daring to claim dominion over a world? Even the Demon Saints didn't have that kind of power.

"As for why I brought you here…" Yang Kai said with a gentle smile. "Naturally, it's to discipline you."

"Discipline me?" Sha Ya was taken aback for a moment, then broke into a light, giggling laugh. "How interesting. That's the first time I've ever heard someone say that to me."

These were words she had always been the one to say to others. So hearing them for the first time felt rather novel.

"You think I'm joking?" Yang Kai regarded her with a serious expression.

Sha Ya curled her lip: "I just think you've got too much time on your hands."

Yang Kai shook his head slowly: "You should count yourself fortunate. In my eyes, you still have some value. Otherwise, you'd be a dead woman by now."

"Oh?" Sha Ya struck a seductive pose, her bewitching allure unfurling naturally as she gazed at Yang Kai through half-lidded, mesmerized eyes. "Then I wonder — what kind of value do I have in your eyes?"

"Definitely not the kind of value you're thinking of." The corner of Yang Kai's lips curled upward. "I've told you before — I have no interest in worn-out shoes, especially not a piece of rotting flesh so foul that even stray dogs wouldn't deign to sniff it."

The seductive charm on Sha Ya's face vanished in an instant, replaced by bone-deep frost.

Yang Kai's humiliating words had clearly touched a nerve, pushing her beyond what she could stomach.

Sha Ya opened her mouth and let out a piercing shriek. Pure, concentrated divine soul power rippled outward, transforming into a massive shockwave that surged toward Yang Kai's mind. At the same time, a flexible whip materialized in her hand, and she cracked it straight down upon him.

Her movements were delicate, yet they concealed power enough to overturn seas and rivers.

When a Demon King struck, the difference was indeed profound — even the spiritual energy of this small world trembled and swirled in response.
