Yin Lesheng smiled: "My head isn't broken — quite the opposite, I'm perfectly lucid. Because I know that to leave this place, Brother Yang's strength is indispensable."
Yang Kai raised an eyebrow and chuckled: "I understand what you're getting at, Brother Yin, but… what makes you think I'd take you out of here?"
Yin Lesheng spoke in a low voice: "Aren't you trying to find out what happened to that puppet? That puppet is important to you, isn't it?"
Hearing him mention Little Little, Yang Kai's expression darkened. He shouted: "Where is it?!"
Yin Lesheng chuckled, perfectly at ease: "So Brother Yang does care a great deal about it. Since you want something and I want something, why don't we make a deal?"
Yang Kai ground his teeth. Even though he ached to rush over, beat Yin Lesheng senseless, and force the location of Little Little out of him, brute force wouldn't solve anything right now. As long as Yin Lesheng refused to reveal any information about Little Little, Yang Kai was helpless. And even if the man did talk, Yang Kai couldn't be sure whether what he said was true or false.
More than killing Yin Lesheng, Yang Kai wanted to learn what he knew about Little Little. After a moment of deliberation, he nodded: "What kind of deal? Let's hear it."
Yin Lesheng said: "You get me out of this godforsaken place, and I'll tell you exactly where that puppet went."
Yang Kai sneered: "How do I know you're telling the truth? For all I know, you have no idea where Little Little even is."
"I do!" Yin Lesheng's expression turned solemn. "Might as well tell you — your puppet did indeed fall into the Eastern Region with me all those years ago. But with my strength at the time, I had no way of subduing it, so I followed it around, waiting for a good opportunity. Unfortunately, I never succeeded. Now, where it's gone — I'm the only person in this world who knows. There's no second person, Brother Yang. You'd better think carefully: do you want to fight me to the death here, both of us suffering grievous wounds, or do we make a fair deal and each get what we need?"
Yang Kai's face was cold. "Tell me first, and I'll send you out of here immediately. I guarantee I won't lay a finger on you!"
Yin Lesheng chuckled: "Do you take me for a three-year-old?"
"Then what do you want?" Yang Kai snapped impatiently.
The two went back and forth, arguing without end. The other three watched with growing astonishment, and though they didn't know exactly what Yang Kai and Yin Lesheng were disputing, they'd caught a hint of what was at stake.
Chang Hao suddenly spoke up: "Brother Yin — he can get us out of here?"
Yin Lesheng glanced at him: "If even he can't, then no one can."
"On what grounds?" Chang Hao asked, startled. "This place is a gap between voids. Without breaking through the spatial barrier, there's no way out. So many of us tried together before and failed — how can he possibly do it alone?"
Yin Lesheng frowned slightly: "Because this Brother Yang Kai is an expert in spatial power."
"An expert in spatial power?" Chang Hao's eyes went wide with shock and delight, his gaze burning as he looked toward Yang Kai, as though he'd just spotted a glimmer of hope for survival.
The other two were equally thrilled, unconsciously licking their lips.
"I'm skilled with spatial power — what the hell does that have to do with you three?" Yang Kai shot them a glare, thoroughly irritated.
Chang Hao put on an ingratiating smile: "Heh heh, Brother Yang, I suppose we've gotten to know each other through a bit of roughhousing. Now that we're the only ones left alive in this place, if you really can get out, how about taking us with you? Don't worry — we'll repay your kindness handsomely down the road!"
"Yes, yes — we'll remember your generosity, Brother Yang! We'll definitely repay you!"
"Brother Yang, more friends means more paths open. If you ever come to the Western Region, I, Sun, will welcome you with open arms!"
The other two chimed in after Chang Hao, gazing at Yang Kai with faces full of earnest pleading.
"Scram!" Yang Kai barked impatiently.
At this, Chang Hao's expression gradually cooled. He stared at Yang Kai: "Yang Kai, don't push your luck. Your strength is nothing to scoff at, but with the four of us joining forces, do you really think you could hold your own? Don't force us to get rough!"
Yang Kai snorted coldly: "Back when there were forty of you, I wasn't afraid. Now there are only four left — what can you do? If you want to die, come and try."
Chang Hao's face stiffened, but he knew Yang Kai was speaking the truth. Forty people hadn't been able to do anything to Yang Kai before; even with the four of them working together, they might not be able to take him down. Besides, it was said that warriors who commanded spatial power were the hardest opponents of all — even if such a person couldn't win, their ability to escape was first-rate.
Yang Kai paid Chang Hao and the other two no further attention. He turned back to Yin Lesheng and spoke in a grim tone: "If you want to make a deal with me, then come up with something that satisfies us both. Otherwise, today you're as good as dead. I can always go to the Eastern Region and search for Little Little myself."
Yin Lesheng's face darkened: "Brother Yang, are you really that confident you can kill me?"
Yang Kai curled his lip: "In this kind of environment, I can make a wave of my hand and send you to a death so complete you won't even have a grave. You tell me — can I kill you or not?"
As he spoke, Yang Kai flicked his hand casually, and a sudden void current surged forth as if answering a command, curling upward like a long river and hurtling straight toward Yin Lesheng.
Yin Lesheng was startled and hurriedly dodged to the side.
After regaining his footing, his face had turned a ghastly shade of iron.
He'd thought he held a trump card and had no real reason to fear Yang Kai. But now it was clear that this peculiar environment hadn't hampered Yang Kai in the slightest — if anything, it had subtly amplified his power. If they truly fought here, his odds of winning were less than twenty percent!
He had to get out of here immediately. The longer he waited, the more things could go wrong.
With that thought, Yin Lesheng spoke in a low voice: "Brother Yang, take a look at this!"
As he spoke, he casually tossed an object toward Yang Kai.
