"Whatever you want to believe." Yang Kai smiled noncommittally and looked at him. "Are you really trying to kill me just because of Hu Meier?"
Long Hui's expression was frivolous and dismissive. "What else did you think? Why else would someone of my standing come all this way just to chase you down?"
Yang Kai frowned. "But I don't have that deep a connection with Hu Meier. We've only met a few times."
"Hmph, maybe you have no interest in her, but that tramp feels differently about you!" A flash of anger crossed Long Hui's face. "She actually defied my grandfather for you! She's never done anything like that before — never gone this far for any man! Who do you think you are, some worthless nobody, daring to make a move on my woman?"
"Your grandfather…" A cold gleam flickered in Yang Kai's eyes. He remembered that unreasonable strike from Long Zaitian — if the Proud Bone Golden Body hadn't activated and freed him from the restraint that time, he'd probably be dead by now.
"One more question!" Yang Kai's face was cold. "How did you know I left Lingxiao Pavilion?"
If they'd managed to track him all the way here, they must have set out not long after he left the pavilion, otherwise they would have lost his trail. In other words, someone had been watching him the moment he departed.
Long Hui chuckled. "Naturally, someone tipped me off."
Just as expected!
"As for who tipped me off, I don't know. But I think you should realize who you've offended!" Long Hui looked at Yang Kai with contempt, as though staring at a dead man. He made no effort to keep secrets, spilling everything he knew and didn't know. "As for that Nulang — he was a surprise. I only spotted their tracks in the small town at the base of the mountain."
Yang Kai nodded slightly. Long Hui had no reason to lie to him. If he said so, then it was true — Nulang had probably just happened to spot him leaving and followed on a whim. No need to dwell on it, since the man was already dead.
"I've satisfied your wish. Now die!" Long Hui grinned ferociously. His figure flickered as he rapidly closed the distance to Yang Kai, eyes gleaming with excitement. Yuan Qi at the first level of the Qi Movement Realm surged as both fists swung forward with brutal force.
With every punch, a feather-like beam of energy shot out from his fist.
Flying Feather Burst — a mid-earth grade martial technique!
As Long Zaitian's youngest grandson, Long Hui held a high status, and the techniques he cultivated were naturally no ordinary fare. Though he too was only at the first level of the Qi Movement Realm, his true strength far exceeded that of Nulang, who was at the same stage.
Long Hui was no mere womanizing wastrel. To Yang Kai at this moment, he was a formidable enemy.
The feather-like projectiles streaked toward him. Yang Kai dodged hastily, causing every attack to miss. A hint of surprise flickered in Long Hui's eyes.
In his mind, Yang Kai — at the fourth layer of the Kaiyuan Realm — shouldn't have been able to avoid his killing move at all.
The next instant, a violent and savage wave of Yuan Qi suddenly erupted from Yang Kai's body. Sensing the density of that energy fluctuation, Long Hui's expression changed.
This was no fourth layer of the Kaiyuan Realm — it was clearly at the very peak. In terms of energy density, it was every bit as potent as his own.
The surprise lasted only a heartbeat. Long Hui had already charged to Yang Kai's side, Yuan Qi swirling around his fist as he drove a savage punch downward.
Yang Kai dodged again. The punch slammed into the ground with a thunderous boom, dust billowing as a sizable crater instantly appeared.
Before Long Hui could rise, Yang Kai's retreating figure suddenly shot back. His knee drove upward, aiming straight for Long Hui's chin.
Long Hui reacted quickly, forming a single palm and blocking beneath his chin, pressing downward.
