"Spirit God and Demon God?"
"Never heard of them."
"But this god senses that their strength is extraordinarily powerful, and the aura lingering on their bodies is extremely ancient. They may well be figures who existed since the Primordial Era."
"To have survived from the Primordial Era until now, they must have been extraordinarily powerful beings even back then."
"The Nine Heavens Mystic Land has such existences guarding it."
"Chu Feng, this god believes the Nine Heavens Mystic Land is more than just a simple teleportation array," the Spirit God said.
"Since they existed in the Primordial Era, perhaps... they know what truly happened in the late Ancient Era?" Chu Feng pondered as well.
"Perhaps, but even if they knew, they probably wouldn't tell you."
"They clearly had the ability to protect you, yet they didn't, which means they don't wish to help you too much — at least not now," the Spirit God said.
"That's only natural. Others helping me is a kindness; not helping me is their right," Chu Feng said.
"Indeed. Having such a mindset is a good thing," the Spirit God said.
...
After Chu Feng left, the Spirit God arrived at the place where the Demon God was.
"Demon God, are you truly burdened by suppressing the Primordial Realm Origin Beasts right now?"
"If there's a burden, then eliminate some of these Primordial Realm Origin Beasts to lighten the load. Don't force yourself to hold on."
"If needed, this god can lend you a hand," the Spirit God said.
"Spirit God, you underestimate this god far too much."
"When this god said there was a burden, it was just to trick that little brat Chu Feng. These Primordial Realm Origin Beasts — this god can suppress them just fine."
The Demon God spoke, his tone carrying a hint of displeasure.
"Spirit God, the Primordial Realm Origin Beasts you suppress are of critical importance. Not the slightest error can be allowed."
"I don't mean anything else. I simply don't want any accidents to occur, that's all," the Spirit God explained.
"This god held on through the hardest times, let alone now. Spirit God, there's no need to worry," the Demon God said.
Seeing this, the Spirit God dropped the matter and instead asked, "You think highly of Chu Feng, so why not give him some help?"
"Thinking highly of him is one thing, but on the path of martial cultivation, he ultimately has to rely on himself. If he truly perishes in it, then it simply means he isn't the one we've been waiting for," the Demon God said.
"In that case, if something truly goes wrong in the Primordial Tomb, the Demon God won't intervene?" the Spirit God asked.
"Would the Spirit God intervene?" the Demon God countered.
"No. This god will not leave the Nine Heavens Mystic Land," the Spirit God said.
"That kid won't die so easily. He... isn't that simple, is he?"
These words from the Demon God were actually a probing question, because he knew that the Spirit God's eyes saw far more than his own.
The Spirit God said nothing, but the corners of his mouth curved into a faint smile.
...
After a period of traveling, Chu Feng finally returned to the Primordial Tomb.
The area outside the Primordial Tomb now was vastly more bustling than before.
The starry sky was boundless — no matter how many people gathered, the space was far too vast for it to ever feel truly overcrowded. Yet near the entrance alone, floating warships, floating palaces, massive war chariots, and enormous demon beasts were visible everywhere.
