"Did Black Soul tell you about us?" the Demon God asked.
"Reporting to Your Eminence, I only spoke of the Primordial Realm Origin Beasts. I did not dare say too much about the rest," Black Soul replied.
"This Nine Heavens Secret Land originates from the Primordial Era, and the four of us have been here from the very beginning," the Demon God said to Chu Feng.
"So… all four of Your Eminences have existed since the Primordial Era?" Chu Feng was stunned.
Though ancient races had been appearing in large numbers lately and were no longer a novelty, beings who had actually survived from ancient times were exceedingly rare.
Those who had endured from the ancient era to the present were, without exception, all individuals of heaven-defying means.
And now, there were beings from the Primordial Era? How many years must they have lived? What kind of terrifying abilities must they possess?
The strength of these four was even greater than Chu Feng had imagined.
"No need to be nervous. We're just a bit older and a bit stronger — nothing more remarkable than that, haha," the Demon God laughed heartily.
At that moment, Eggy's voice echoed in Chu Feng's ears: "Wow, such a big shot, and he still likes to show off."
"Eggy, you're awake."
"How are you feeling?" Seeing that Eggy had regained consciousness, Chu Feng hurriedly asked with concern.
"Your Queen put in all that effort on my behalf, so naturally I'm perfectly fine. Don't worry — this Queen's body is in top shape."
"Now hurry up and chat with this big fellow. See if you can weasel any information out of him about the Primordial Graveyard," Eggy said.
The Demon God then spoke again: "I called you here because I knew you intend to visit the Primordial Graveyard."
"But that Primordial Graveyard is unfathomably deep. Forget about me — even the Spirit God, who possesses the Three Realms Divine Eyes, cannot see through it."
"The Primordial Graveyard is not a place that people of your current generation can handle. If you insist on going, you must be extremely careful," the Demon God said.
"This junior understands," Chu Feng replied, then quickly added, "But Senior, you are a being of the Primordial Era — have you never heard anything about this Primordial Graveyard?"
"This is actually the first time I've laid eyes on the Primordial Graveyard. I've never heard of it before, either," the Demon God said.
"Not even a being from the Primordial Era has heard of it?" Chu Feng muttered to himself, puzzled.
The Divine Era, after all, had appeared multiple times even in the ancient period. Even before the Divine Era manifested, contemporary cultivators had long heard legends about it.
But the Primordial Graveyard was different. It was like a mysterious ocean that had simply materialized out of nowhere — its depths unfathomable, everything shrouded in the unknown.
"Actually, I didn't call you here today solely to warn you of the Primordial Graveyard's dangers. I also wanted to tell you that being able to leave your name on the Dominating Stone Tablet here — your potential is something the Spirit God and I hold in very high regard."
"But there are certain things that, if I told you now, would only become a burden on you. You need to possess sufficient strength before you can be told."
"So, Chu Feng — growth is important, but being able to stay alive is even more important," the Demon God said.
Chu Feng caught the meaning beneath his words.
In the future, there would likely be certain tasks that they wanted him to carry out. It was simply too soon.
They were still testing him, and this test was to see whether Chu Feng could grow to the level they expected.
"Senior, there's no need to worry. This junior cherishes his life quite a bit."
"But if Senior is truly concerned, and genuinely sees potential in this junior, then perhaps you could bestow upon this junior some life-saving methods."
"This junior is not so stubborn that he insists on handling everything alone," Chu Feng said with a grin.
"Perhaps I could release a Primordial Realm Origin Beast, and you could ride it to the Primordial Graveyard?" the Demon God offered.
"That works too," Chu Feng said.
"Works my foot! Those Primordial Realm Origin Beasts don't even listen to me — you think they'd listen to you?"
"Cough, cough, cough…"
As those words left his mouth, the Demon God's enormous body suddenly convulsed, and he broke into violent coughs.
When he raised his head once more, the glow in his massive eyes had dimmed considerably.
"Chu Feng, it's not that I don't want to help you — it's just that suppressing these Primordial Realm Origin Beasts alone has already pushed me to my absolute limit. I genuinely have no energy left to spare."
"You need to work hard to become stronger. Otherwise, one day, when I can no longer hold these Primordial Realm Origin Beasts in check — to prevent them from breaking free and plunging the world into chaos — I will have no choice but to perish along with them."
"When that happens, the Nine Heavens Secret Land will cease to exist as well, and you'll lose access to such a convenient teleportation array."
The Demon God spoke again, but his voice had grown noticeably weaker.
Eggy, however, was completely unimpressed. She merely pouted: "What a joke. Just a moment ago he was bragging about how powerful he is, and the second you ask him for a little help, suddenly he's all frail and feeble. If you ask this Queen, he just doesn't want to help you."
