Chapter 4794: That Is... a Tombstone!!!

Chu Feng raced toward that location with all his speed.

The opportunity he sought was the strongest among all the opportunities available.

Moreover, it was connected to the other opportunities in a certain way.

As long as Chu Feng managed to obtain this opportunity, every other person's opportunity would be rendered null.

Conversely, if any one of the others obtained their opportunity first, the one Chu Feng was currently searching for would be invalidated as well.

Either Chu Feng obtained his opportunity and left the others empty-handed, or the others obtained theirs first and Chu Feng lost this rare chance.

Now, while it was true that if Chu Feng succeeded, the opportunities of Xia Yan and the rest would also become void — and that was not what he wished for — he still had to go through with it, because he could not let Zuoqiu Youyu succeed.

Had it not been for his Heaven's Eye revealing the secret and his comprehension of this entirely new opportunity from the aura of the crowd, then Zuoqiu Youyu's opportunity would have been the strongest.

This Yin-Yang Withered Well Realm was wondrous and unfathomable, and the opportunities within it were surely astonishing.

How could Chu Feng allow Zuoqiu Youyu to obtain such a fortune?

After a stretch of traveling, Chu Feng drew ever closer to the endpoint marked on the map.

He had now entered a vast stretch of desert. All he had to do was cross it, and he would arrive at the map's destination.

"Something's wrong."

After flying for a while, Chu Feng suddenly came to a halt.

"What is it?" Yu Sha asked.

"The desert does exist on the map, but by all rights, I should have crossed it long ago and reached the endpoint."

"But right now, this desert seems endless — I simply can't find its end," Chu Feng said.

"Could this be a formation?" Yu Sha asked.

"I've already examined it with my Heaven's Eye. I can't detect anything unusual, nor can I sense even the slightest trace of a barrier's energy," Chu Feng replied.

"Then... perhaps keep going a bit further? Maybe you'll be out of it soon," Yu Sha suggested.

Upon hearing this, Chu Feng set off once more — only this time, he did not continue flying forward. Instead, he flew back in the direction he had come from.

It had taken Chu Feng half an incense stick's worth of time to enter this desert and push forward.

Logically, traveling back the way he came at the same speed should have taken no more than half an incense stick's time to leave the desert behind.

Yet the time Chu Feng had spent already exceeded that, and still... he could not escape the desert.

Forget escaping — he couldn't even see its borders.

Chu Feng soared high into the air, ascending to a tremendous height, with the vast white clouds far below him.

Yet even from such a vantage point, when he looked out in every direction, the ground below was nothing but yellow sand stretching to every horizon — with no end in sight.

"We're truly trapped."

"If it's not a formation, what kind of power could create this?" Yu Sha asked.

"Don't panic — I have my ways."

Chu Feng flew rapidly through the air for a time. Seeing that it produced no effect, he dove back down in a flash.

Whoosh—!

Sand erupted skyward like an inverted waterfall.

It was Chu Feng — he plunged straight into the desert, burrowing directly toward the underground.

The sand layer was incredibly thick, far thicker than Chu Feng had imagined.

But he kept descending until he finally pierced through the sand and reached the soil layer beneath.

Even after reaching the soil, Chu Feng continued downward until he encountered an underground river, at which point he stopped.

Though deep underground, Chu Feng could still determine his direction. He broke through layer after layer of earth, resolute in heading toward a single destination.

But before long, Chu Feng came to a stop.

"What is it?" Yu Sha asked.

Chu Feng did not answer. His gaze was fixed on something ahead — buried deep beneath the earth, there stood a stone tablet.

It was a tombstone.

A massive, ancient tombstone, covered in dust and soil, yet still standing tall and unbroken.

On its surface, characters had been carved — but they were not written in any language Chu Feng recognized.

Yet his Heaven's Eye could read them clearly.

And what they said made Chu Feng's heart shudder.

"This is... the tombstone of the Yin-Yang Withered Well Realm's master!" Yu Sha exclaimed.

"This isn't just the tombstone of the realm's master," Chu Feng said, his eyes narrowing. "This is the tombstone of the person who created this realm."

"What?!" Yu Sha was shocked. "The person who created this realm... they're dead?"

"That's what this tombstone says," Chu Feng replied, his voice low and measured. "But what's strange is — if the creator of this realm is truly dead, then who is maintaining this place? Who is controlling these opportunities?"

A heavy silence settled between them.

Chu Feng stared at the tombstone, and the hairs on the back of his neck slowly began to stand on end.

Because he noticed something — the soil around the tombstone was not still.

It was trembling.

The faintest, most imperceptible trembling — as if something beneath the earth was slowly... breathing.

"Chu Feng," Yu Sha whispered, her voice barely audible. "Do you feel that?"

"Yeah," Chu Feng said, his eyes locked on the tombstone. "Something down here... is alive."
