Even though Chu Feng was also within the main city, he had no idea whatsoever that Chu Hongyi and the others had returned and even received Chu Ping's forgiveness.
After all, Chu Feng was currently focused on merging with that formation.
And heaven rewards those who try their hardest. After Chu Feng's tireless efforts, he finally merged with that formation and learned the method to activate it.
"That really wasn't easy."
Once he succeeded, Chu Feng rose to his feet with a smile. Without even realizing it, his entire head was drenched in sweat. In truth, his whole body had long since been soaked through — and it was all cold sweat, the kind wrung out by sheer terror.
Although he had succeeded in the end, Chu Feng knew just how difficult it had been.
Merging with the formation was incredibly hard. Even though it had been laid by his grandfather and refined by his father, this formation was far from friendly toward Chu Feng. On several occasions, he had nearly suffered a backlash.
Had he truly been hit by that backlash, the consequences would have been far more than a bit of pain. Chu Feng would have been sucked into the formation, trapped in an endless cycle of dreams.
But fortunately, he had ultimately succeeded, which was why Chu Feng was so elated.
Even though this formation was the weakest guardian array in this place, its power was still formidable.
In Chu Feng's estimation, unless one was a Martial Immortal, there was simply no way to break through this guardian array.
And Chu Feng refused to believe that anyone among the Azure Feather Monster Clan had reached the Martial Immortal level. No matter how extraordinary their talent, they were still martial cultivators under three hundred years of age.
At that age, compared to those approaching ten thousand — or even over ten thousand — years old, they were practically children.
So Chu Feng concluded that this guardian formation would be more than enough to handle the Azure Feather Monster Clan.
However, rather than basking in his joy, Chu Feng immediately set off to find Her Majesty. He wanted to share this moment of triumph with her.
When he found Her Majesty, he discovered that she was sitting cross-legged in meditation, her hands forming seals, her breathing rising and falling in a steady rhythm. She looked as though she was cultivating — and with intense concentration, at that.
Chu Feng had rarely ever seen Her Majesty like this.
What surprised him even more was that before Her Majesty stood a formation. This formation was quite unusual. First of all, it was very small. And it was neither a guardian formation nor an offensive formation, nor was it a healing formation.
It resembled more of a display case, and what it showcased was a stone.
A stone, positioned at the center of the formation, hovering ever so slightly.
The stone was roughly the size of a goose egg, pitch-black throughout, its surface as smooth as jade.
Yet whether one examined it with the naked eye or probed it with spiritual perception, the stone appeared to have absolutely nothing special about it. It was utterly ordinary.
The formation was ordinary too, and the stone within it was ordinary as well. Chu Feng could not understand why his grandfather and his father had placed them in such an important location.
Most importantly, Her Majesty was cultivating with extreme focus. Although he could not sense anything, no matter how he looked at it, Her Majesty's cultivation seemed to be directly related to that formation and that stone.
"My dear Queen, what are you doing?" Still puzzling over it, Chu Feng crouched beside Her Majesty and asked with a grin.
Her Majesty was so absorbed that she did not even notice Chu Feng approaching. It was only when his voice rang out that her eyes snapped open.
"Chu Feng, you succeeded?" Her Majesty rose to her feet and asked with concern.
"Done and dusted," Chu Feng replied.
"Oh my, not bad at all." Seeing that Chu Feng had succeeded, a joyful smile bloomed across Her Majesty's delicate face. "So can that guardian formation hold off the Azure Feather Monster Clan?"
"I should think so," Chu Feng said.
"Then those Azure Feather Monster Clan fools won't be able to touch you. Good, good." At these words, the delight on Her Majesty's face deepened even further.
She had originally been quite worried about Chu Feng. After all, they had both figured out that the Azure Feather Monster Clan would be knocking on their door before long.
And the strength of the Azure Feather Monster Clan was probably something that Chu Feng currently had no way to deal with.
But with a guardian formation in place, they would have nothing to fear.
"My little egg, what were you doing just now? I saw you — it looked like you were cultivating?" Chu Feng asked.
"That's right, Chu Feng. This Queen was indeed cultivating, because I found a treasure!" Her Majesty pointed at the stone within the formation. "Chu Feng, do you know what this is?"
"I was actually about to ask you. What is it?" Chu Feng asked.
"Let me tell you, this thing's origin is absolutely extraordinary."
"This is an Asura Divine Stone. Even within our Asura Spirit World, it is a sacred artifact for cultivation — exceedingly rare."
"I have no idea why it ended up here."
