"Chili, what kind of way is that to speak? He's the benefactor who saved Little Radish." At that moment, Big Radish grew anxious and hurried forward to mediate.
"So what? He saved Little Radish, and I'm grateful for that, but he has no business calling himself Chu Feng. Those are two entirely different matters."
"Let me tell you—you'd better change your name, or don't blame me for not being polite." Chili pointed straight at Chu Feng, her words dripping with menace.
"Benefactor, Chili's lost her mind. She's been bewitched by that Chu Feng—the same Chu Feng who's wanted by the Four Great Emperor Clans. Please don't take it to heart." Seeing that his attempts to reason with Chili were futile, Big Radish quickly turned to Chu Feng to explain.
"Oh, now you've really done it, Big Radish. You dare call me crazy?" Chili curled her lip.
"You are crazy. You've been driven mad by that Chu Feng. What's so great about him? You're not even related—why go this far for him? Keep this up, and he'll get you killed sooner or later." Big Radish had finally lost his patience.
"How dare you! You can say whatever you want about me, but you will not say a single word against Chu Feng. Remember—if you ever speak like that again, we're finished." At that, Chili's fury only deepened. Unlike Big Radish, she was genuinely enraged, a rage that came straight from the heart.
Chu Feng could swear that only Big Radish could have said such things and lived to tell the tale. Anyone else, and Chili likely would have struck on the spot.
"Oh, Chili Sister, please stop arguing. He is my benefactor, after all—he saved my life. If he hadn't stepped in, the Fierce Beasts would have eaten me already." Seeing the situation escalate, Little Radish hastily spoke up.
"Hmph." Only after hearing those words did Chili let out a cold snort, flick her sleeves, and stride away.
"Benefactor, please don't take it to heart. Senior Sister Chili is actually a wonderful person—she just can't tolerate anyone saying a single bad word about Chu Feng. Not anyone." Little Radish apologized to Chu Feng, her face full of shame.
"It's fine." Chu Feng waved it off with a smile. He certainly wasn't angry. Although he knew full well that Chili was in the wrong, her unreasonable behavior was all in his defense.
So rather than being upset, Chu Feng actually found Chili quite endearing. Still, he was curious—why would she defend him so fiercely when they'd never even met before?
"Oh my, brother, you've been awfully hard to find. We were starting to think you'd run off." Not long after Chili left, a cold laugh suddenly rang out.
Chu Feng followed the voice and saw several figures heading his way—disciples of the Heavenly Dao House. The two at the front were both Eighth-rank Martial Kings, while the three behind them were people Chu Feng recognized. They were the very same trio from the forest who had stood by and watched Little Radish face danger without lifting a finger.
The one who had spoken was the same man who had tried to explain things to Chu Feng back in the forest. Sure enough, this fellow was a treacherous one.
"Big Brother, back in the forest, those three not only refused to help me when I was in danger—they mocked me too." Little Radish turned to Big Radish.
"What do you want?" Once he understood the situation, Big Radish's expression turned cold.
"We're here to settle something with him—it has nothing to do with your Hell House. Step aside and don't go looking for trouble." The Eighth-rank Martial King at the front spoke in a domineering tone.
"Settle something with me? Fine—let's go into the forest and have a proper talk." As he spoke, Chu Feng turned and began walking toward the treeline.
He had already let those three go once. He hadn't expected them to be so ungrateful—they'd brought along two Eighth-rank Martial Kings to come after him.
Chu Feng had already decided to eliminate them. However, there were too many eyes here, and even with his identity concealed, it wouldn't be convenient to kill them outright.
He was already being hunted by the Four Great Emperor Clans and had no intention of earning the enmity of the Heavenly Dao House as well. After all, the Heavenly Dao House's influence was far greater than the Four Great Emperor Clans combined.
So he planned to lure them into the forest, where he could kill them quietly without anyone being the wiser.
"Brother Chu Feng, this all started because of my brother. Let us handle it." But just then, Big Radish grabbed Chu Feng and pulled him back.
