But before long, towering black flames erupted once more from within the fray.
Although the specifics of Egg Egg and Xue Ji's exchange were impossible to make out, Chu Feng could clearly see the two streams of black aura clashing against each other.
Each pillar of black flame soared a hundred thousand meters high. Even though this great hall was enormous — large enough to house countless living beings — the two black auras were threatening to fill it entirely.
The two columns of black flame resembled two demons locked in a desperate struggle.
The sheer force on display made Chu Feng feel uneasy just watching.
Over the years, in battles against opponents of equal cultivation, Chu Feng had suffered almost no defeats.
Yet he was absolutely certain that Egg Egg and Xue Ji each possessed power that surpassed his own — at least, if he didn't resort to the Ninefold Heavenly Thunder Slash.
Against either Egg Egg or Xue Ji, he would stand no chance whatsoever.
The clash of those two tremendous auras went on for quite some time, which only proved how ferocious the battle between Egg Egg and Xue Ji truly was.
And the gap between their strength appeared to be minimal.
Swish—
But suddenly, a dark figure shot out from within the flames and slammed into the wall of the great hall.
Chu Feng looked closely, and it turned out to be Xue Ji's black longsword.
Not long after the sword flew out, the two pillars of black flame began to dissipate, and the figures of Egg Egg and Xue Ji once again became visible.
To be precise, they had been there the whole time — it was just that during their exchange, they had been darting about at such incredible speed that Chu Feng couldn't track them.
Now that they had stopped, their silhouettes naturally came back into view.
Chu Feng's gaze went to Egg Egg first, his eyes full of worry, terrified that she might have been injured.
Only after confirming that Egg Egg was completely unharmed did the weight lift from his heart.
He then turned to look at Xue Ji and noticed that she, too, did not appear to be seriously wounded. The only mark was a bloody gash on her right arm.
"The outcome is decided. Xue Ji... are you someone who keeps her word?"
As Egg Egg spoke, she extended her small, snow-white hand toward Xue Ji.
That hand was impossibly delicate. Just looking at it, anyone would assume it belonged to a sheltered noble lady who had never so much as held a blade.
Who could have guessed it belonged to a little demoness who killed without blinking?
"You've got some tricks, girl. I underestimated you today."
"I won't lose to you again next time."
Even as she spoke, Xue Ji plucked the blue stone floating beside her and tossed it to Egg Egg.
After doing so, she reached out toward the void.
Swish—
The black longsword embedded in the wall flew back into Xue Ji's hand. Without another word, she turned and left.
As she departed, she didn't spare Chu Feng a single glance. Perhaps it was because she had lost and felt too ashamed to face him.
Or perhaps she had never considered him worth her attention in the first place.
After Xue Ji had gone, Egg Egg skipped over to Chu Feng with a playful stride.
"There you go. Your Queen retrieved this for you."
Egg Egg handed him the key formed from the blue stone.
"My Egg Egg is the best," Chu Feng said.
"Oh? We haven't seen each other in a while and you've gotten bolder, haven't you? Your Queen does you this enormous favor and you can't even call me 'Your Majesty'?"
Egg Egg pursed her little lips and tilted her chin up, putting on a look of feigned reproach. She was unbearably cute.
"Your Majesty."
The moment Chu Feng said this, he opened his arms toward Egg Egg.
"What, you're trying to take advantage of your Queen again?" Egg Egg said, shrinking back a step.
But Chu Feng ignored that entirely. He took a large step forward and swept Egg Egg into his embrace.
"You! How did you become so overbearing?"
"Making a move without even asking your Queen's permission?"
"Let go this instant! Believe it or not, I'll smack you!"
Though Egg Egg protested with her mouth, her body didn't actually struggle.
So Chu Feng wasn't worried. He knew she wouldn't truly try to break free, and so he wore a blissful expression, savoring the feeling of Egg Egg in his arms.
"All right, all right, that's enough. Don't you want the Asura Divine Stones anymore? Because if you don't, I certainly do," Egg Egg said.
"You won't have to go into seclusion again this time, will you?" Chu Feng asked.
"No, the Asura God-Demon Stone has been completely refined," Egg Egg replied.
"But there are still so many Asura Divine Stones left," Chu Feng said.
