The place where they would purchase the materials was a Daoist temple.
Although the Lower Realm of the Bitter Sea was still a lower realm, its territory was far larger than that of the Ancestral Martial Lower Realm.
As such, the journey there would require some time.
"City Lord Liang, during my time in the True Dragon's ruins, I encountered an old cat. I wonder if City Lord Liang might know of this cat?" Chu Feng asked along the way.
He speculated that the old cat knew of those ruins possibly because of its connection to City Lord Liang. Of course, it was only speculation, so he merely asked in passing.
If City Lord Liang knew, then perhaps he could learn something about the old cat. If not, that would be fine too.
"The old cat?"
Upon hearing this, City Lord Liang's expression shifted.
And from City Lord Liang's reaction, Chu Feng knew that the man definitely recognized that old cat.
So though Chu Feng said nothing further, he kept his gaze fixed on City Lord Liang, waiting for him to continue.
"Young Master Chu Feng, did it make a move against you?" City Lord Liang asked.
"It did more than make a move against me — it nearly took my life."
"But in the end, it escaped," Chu Feng said.
"Ahh…"
Hearing Chu Feng's words, City Lord Liang let out a sigh, his face etched with difficulty.
"City Lord Liang, don't tell me you were the one who provided the old cat with information about the ruins as well?" Chu Feng dropped all pretense and asked directly.
"Normally speaking, I really shouldn't say anything."
"Our line of work is built on trust, and we're obligated to keep our clients' secrets."
"But Young Master Chu Feng, your identity is special. You are not only Lady Yuwei's current master, but you also saved my life and the lives of my entire clan."
"That creature harmed you. If I don't tell you what I know about it, my conscience won't rest easy," City Lord Liang said.
"If City Lord Liang truly has reservations, then there's no need to say anything. I understand." Chu Feng replied casually.
He wasn't pretending to be indifferent — he genuinely didn't mind, because he truly understood City Lord Liang's position.
"Forget it. I've already retired from the trade, so my reputation can go with it."
"This individual calls itself Master Tiger. I have indeed dealt with him many times, and the location of that ruins — I was the one who sold it to him."
"But Young Master Chu Feng, I do hope you won't spread this around. Master Tiger is not the sort of character who shows mercy."
"As it stands, being hunted by the Situ Spirit Gate is already inevitable for me. I'd rather not add Master Tiger to that list," City Lord Liang said.
"Rest assured, City Lord Liang. What was said today is known only to heaven, to earth, to you, and to me. I, Chu Feng, will absolutely not let it leave my lips," Chu Feng promised.
"Young Master Chu Feng, what would you like to know?" City Lord Liang asked.
"I want to know where this creature resides."
Chu Feng directly asked the thing he most wanted to know.
The two then talked at length, and it was only then that Chu Feng learned that although City Lord Liang had indeed cooperated with the old cat many times, the cat had always been the one to come to him. City Lord Liang had no idea where the old cat lived.
Chu Feng was not surprised by this. After all, the old cat was cunning by nature and meticulous in its actions — it was only natural that it wouldn't easily reveal its address.
Beyond that, Chu Feng also learned that the old cat was particularly fond of exploring ruins, and it was frequently able to reap handsome rewards. It was a being with extraordinary methods.
As for these things, even if City Lord Liang hadn't mentioned them, Chu Feng already knew. After all, he had personally been on the receiving end of the old cat's tricks before.
As for anything else, City Lord Liang simply didn't know.
After a stretch of travel, Chu Feng and City Lord Liang finally arrived at the Daoist temple where they would purchase the materials.
