"Daddy?"
The moment the word "daddy" left the infant's lips, everyone turned to look at Chu Feng.
The Dao Sea Fairy took it in stride, but Eggy, Yu Sha, and even Wang Yuxian — the looks on their faces were off.
They were all sisters. So why was it that when it came to Chu Feng, things had gone sideways like this?
"Daddy! Daddy! Want hugs!"
The baby girl stretched out both tiny hands, calling to Chu Feng in a sweet, milky voice — utterly adorable.
She was far too cute. Though she was still so small that her features hadn't fully developed, it was already plain to see that she was extraordinarily pretty.
When she grew up, she'd probably be another little enchantress.
Faced with such a precious baby girl, Chu Feng didn't care what she called him — he simply picked her up and cradled her in his arms.
Once in Chu Feng's embrace, the baby grew even more excited, somehow happier than she had been in Eggy's arms.
"Chu Feng, what's going on here? Since when did you have a thing with the evil spirits of the Asura Burial Ground?"
Eggy planted her hands on her hips, pouting her little mouth as she interrogated him.
"My Queen, don't say such things."
"You said it yourself — whenever you were in seclusion, everything I could see, you could see too. How could I possibly have had a thing with evil spirits?"
Chu Feng knew Eggy was joking, but for some reason, he still broke into a frantic explanation, nearly panicked.
"Then maybe it's between you and Yu Sha?"
Eggy pointed at Yu Sha as she said it.
"Miss Queen, you…"
Yu Sha's face flushed red the instant she heard this. Alongside the blush, a complicated mix of anger and grievance flickered across her features.
"Hahaha, alright, alright — I'm just kidding."
Seeing Yu Sha blush, Eggy burst out laughing and hurried to clarify she was only joking.
"But it is strange — why does this baby girl insist on calling Chu Feng 'daddy'?" Wang Yuxian asked, gazing curiously at the baby girl who was happily squirming in Chu Feng's arms.
"It's simple enough. This baby girl is no ordinary child to begin with, and Chu Feng was the one who fed her. She just mistook him for her father."
"If you offered her some of your Origin, she'd probably start calling you 'mama,'" Eggy explained.
"Really?"
"If only I had some Origin to give," Wang Yuxian said.
"Miss, miss — something seems off with you, doesn't it?" Eggy said with narrowed eyes and a sly grin.
"You three silly girls, enough nonsense."
At that moment, the Dao Sea Fairy approached as well, studying the baby girl in Chu Feng's arms up close.
Chu Feng was considerate enough to hand the baby over immediately.
"Nana! Nana!"
The baby showed no reluctance whatsoever — quite the opposite. Cradled in the Dao Sea Fairy's arms, she called out to her sweetly.
The Dao Sea Fairy, who had been wearing a grave expression, let a smile break through at the sound of those sweet little calls.
If she had harbored any resistance before, she now seemed quite fond of the baby girl.
"Junior Chu Feng, what do you intend to do with this child?" the Dao Sea Fairy asked.
"This matter concerns the Asura Burial Ground, but I never expected it would be a baby girl. For the moment, I genuinely don't know how to handle it."
Chu Feng answered honestly.
"This child requires Origin to be fed, and though she possesses the form of a Realm Spirit, she is by no means an ordinary one."
"She carries no demonic aura at the moment, but the disturbance she just caused already speaks to how extraordinary she is."
"If Junior Chu Feng doesn't object, I have a suggestion — you may leave her here with me for the time being. I can keep watch over her, and if something truly is wrong with the child, I'll be able to intervene immediately."
"Of course, the child still belongs to Junior Chu Feng. Should you change your mind at any time, you're welcome to take her back."
The Dao Sea Fairy said.
"Chu Feng, just leave her with the Dao Sea Fairy for now."
"You're a grown man — carrying around a baby girl isn't exactly convenient."
"The Dao Sea Fairy's place is all women. They can look after her properly."
"Besides, aren't you planning to enter the Crouching Dragon Martial Sect to find Zi Ling?" Eggy said.
Chu Feng never kept anything from Eggy. After learning from Zhang Yingxiong's letter what Master had told him, he had relayed it to Eggy immediately.
So she knew about Chu Feng's upcoming plans as well.
Chu Feng had originally figured that if what was inside the box really was some kind of monster, sealing it away would be the end of it.
