"The injuries are too severe. I'll have to use this." After a careful examination, Immortal Meow Meow removed the necklace from her neck. The pendant of that necklace opened to reveal a bead no larger than a fingernail.
"Wow, wow, wow — what is that?!" The moment Little Red laid eyes on the bead, its eyes lit up with excitement, and it scurried over.
That reaction from Little Red was hardly surprising — the bead was simply too extraordinary. Despite being no larger than a fingernail, resembling a tiny pearl, it shimmered with brilliant radiance and specks of starlight. Upon closer inspection, one would find that inside the bead was what appeared to be an entire starry sky — a truly magnificent sight.
Most importantly, within that bead were nine rays of light, each a different color, dazzling and breathtaking.
Simply looking at them, even without any spiritual sensing, one could feel their overwhelming power — and one's heart would naturally surge with excitement.
"Shh, don't talk." Immortal Meow Meow said to Little Red.
She then placed the bead upon Chu Feng's Dantian. In an instant, the bead erupted with radiant light. At the same time, Immortal Meow Meow's eyes took on the same appearance as the bead itself.
Simultaneously, one of the nine rays of light seeped out of the bead and burrowed into Chu Feng's Dantian.
"Haaaa—"
In that single moment, Immortal Meow Meow's face turned deathly pale, and sweat drenched her head.
"Lady, what's wrong?" Little Red asked worriedly.
"I'm fine." Despite clearly not being fine, Immortal Meow Meow wore a joyous expression. She casually wiped the cold sweat from her forehead and then looked at Little Red, saying, "That old geezer's life is saved. I just don't know how long it'll be before he wakes up."
"Then let's move the geezer somewhere safe first. I know a place that's very hidden and very secure," Little Red said.
"That would be wonderful. Let's go." As she spoke, Immortal Meow Meow hoisted Chu Feng onto her back.
Despite her formidable strength, Immortal Meow Meow's petite frame meant that carrying a grown man like Chu Feng naturally gave off an impression of strain.
If anyone had witnessed this scene, they would surely have been green with envy toward Chu Feng.
But at that moment, Immortal Meow Meow's gaze shifted to Chu Feng's right hand. Looking at the Evil God Sword — which Chu Feng, even while unconscious, still gripped tightly — her brows furrowed slightly and she sighed, "This sword… it's far too sinister."
…………
Chu Feng had been unconscious for a long time. During his slumber, he had once again entered that mountain of corpses and sea of blood.
Even though this was not his first time visiting that place, Chu Feng still felt a bone-chilling terror and a trembling dread.
Chu Feng was in agony, wracked with suffering — but then a sudden surge of energy from his Dantian eased his pain and discomfort considerably.
Even so, being trapped in that world still felt like being trapped within a nightmare — deeply unsettling, profoundly uneasy.
And now, he had finally awakened. The first thing he saw upon opening his eyes was Immortal Meow Meow and Little Red.
"Chu Feng, you jerk — you're finally awake! I thought you were going to sleep until next year!" Immortal Meow Meow let out a long breath of relief upon seeing Chu Feng regain consciousness, and couldn't help cracking a joke.
"Geezer, I thought you were dead!" Little Red burst into excited tears — though it was all thunder and no rain, as usual. The little creature was just as dramatic as ever.
