Chapter 57. Sorting and Summarizing

Pausing for a moment, Klein continued writing:

"The essence of solving the potion problem is digestion, not mastery. This can be understood intuitively."

"Mastery merely treats the power of the potion as an external tool, a tamed beast. No matter how well or skillfully you master it, it never truly belongs to you, and the risk of backlash is high. Digestion, on the other hand, is about treating the consumed potion as a part of yourself—decomposing it, fusing with it, absorbing it, unifying it into a whole."

"There is no doubt about this for now. The key is *why* 'acting' helps digestion."

"Based on today's Seer experience, let me first make two conjectures, pending further verification."

"One, 'acting' according to the potion's name can change the state of the body, mind, and spirit, gradually bringing them closer to the stubborn remnant spirit in the core of the potion, thereby creating resonance, assimilating bit by bit, absorbing bit by bit."

"Two, the stubborn remnant spirit in the potion's core is like a well-defended mainframe. To invade it, break through it, and dismantle it, you must find the bug, find the flaw, find the key. The name of the potion reveals the corresponding clues, so by acting, you harmonize your body, mind, and spirit, disguise yourself as 'one of them', fool the 'guard', and swagger right in. This line of thought is quite similar to Emperor Roselle's description."

"Regardless of which guess it is, the state of the body, mind, and spirit is an unavoidable factor, as they are the only bridge between 'acting' and the power of the potion."

Klein put down his fountain pen and read through the passage again. For a moment, he actually felt like thanking the Great Gourmet Empire for its exam-oriented education.

Regardless, whether he had chosen the sciences or the engineering track, he still possessed basic logical skills. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been a keyboard warrior and wouldn't be able to make such analyses and conjectures.

"'Acting' might really be effective. The specific changes remain to be seen." Klein made a summary for the time being.

Next, he wrote down the second question:

"A rather strange description. Why does a 'Seer' being more knowledgeable and specialized in mysticism mean he lacks direct means to subdue enemies? Shouldn't knowledge and specialization make a 'Seer' more powerful, better able to find ways to defeat enemies?"

"Analysis of the reasons is as follows:"

"First, like in the web novels I've read before, I've transmigrated into a game world that has become reality. So, different 'classes' must have their own characteristics and be relatively balanced. But so far, I haven't seen any signs of datafication or the development of quests. I'll shelve this factor for now. Its probability is extremely low."

"Second, the underlying rule of this world is balance. The Creator built this place with balance as the core."

"Third, the potions of the same Sequence are at the same energy level. This is the best state discovered by predecessors through exploration and summary. Exceeding this energy level makes it easy to collapse and lose control. Falling too far below this energy level makes it impossible to obtain the desired Beyonder powers. Therefore, when the energy level is fixed, if one aspect is stronger, another will naturally be weaker."

"Fourth, all things share a common origin. They all differentiated from the Creator and are all fragments of the Creator. The implicit meaning of complementing each other is that each has its own problems."

"I'm currently leaning toward the third and fourth reasons, but the latter originates from uncertain myths and can only be used as a reference."

"I'll first use the third as a guide, verifying it through current study and subsequent discoveries."

At this point, Klein had filled two whole pages, but he didn't stop. He once again put pen to paper to sort out a new issue:

"From today's studies, my 'Luck Transference Ritual' is a typical ritual magic."

"This kind of ritual magic can be divided into three parts. The first is the sacrifice part, which pleases or attracts the interest of the corresponding entity. The second is the incantation part, which describes the specific object of the prayer. The third is the substantive part, which states what kind of help is wanted. This needs to be clarified using a formatted corresponding language and certain symbolic symbols."

"From this point of view, analyzing the 'Luck Transference Ritual' reveals an obvious problem: there is no third part!"

"It has the sacrifice part of placing staple food and walking counterclockwise in a square of four steps, and it has the incantation part that indicates the target of the prayer, such as Fusheng Xuanhuang Empyrean Lord and so on."

"But what follows is just closing one's eyes and waiting. It doesn't describe that the purpose of the ritual is to transfer luck."

"In other words, the corresponding entity is completely unaware of what this so-called 'Luck Transference Ritual' wants to pray for. It can only act freely... act freely..."

"What a trap! That 'Compendium of Secret Arts of the Qin and Han Dynasties' is such a huge scam!"

"My brain must have been flooded at the time for me to think of trying it..."

Klein stopped his pen, took two deep breaths, and tried to calm himself down.

Hoo, he let out a heavy breath and continued sorting out his thoughts:

"I need to consider redesigning this ritual to make it complete, with the goal of returning to Earth, returning to the world where my parents, friends, and relatives are."

"So here comes the question. Was that entity truly acting freely? Or was there a deeper, implicit purpose?"

"Furthermore, is the entity referred to by the descriptive incantation on Earth the same entity it points to in this world?"

"If it is the same, the difference between the effects of the first and second rituals can be explained by acting freely. But the second and third times both allowed me to go Above the Gray Fog and connect to 'Justice' and 'The Hanged Man', with almost no difference. Why is that?"
