A single sword strike killed twelve Highgods, stunning the opposition. Lin Lei and the other three departed unharmed.
"Lin Lei, will that young master of the Bagxiao Family bring experts to seek revenge?" Olivia furrowed her brow, looking worried.
Lin Lei smiled.
Dilia answered instead, "Olivia, really, that dispute with the Bagxiao young master was just about a piece of clothing. Then Lin Lei went and killed those twelve ordinary Highgods. For some ancient great families, twelve ordinary Highgods dead is nothing. I doubt that young master will rashly come seeking revenge without first investigating thoroughly."
"He comes, we kill him. Simple," Bei Bei snorted. "Besides, we're leaving Milo Island soon anyway. What's the Bagxiao Family to us? No matter how powerful they are, can they reach beyond their own territory?"
"Let's go. Those great families may look down on ordinary people, but they're still wary of true powerhouses," Lin Lei said with a smile. His strike just now would certainly lead them to assume he was a Highgod. But his aura was that of a Midgod!
They would inevitably conclude that Lin Lei was concealing his aura.
In truth, Lin Lei was genuinely only a Midgod! How could anyone detect a Highgod aura from him?
They would only think that Lin Lei's strength was far too great and his ability to conceal his aura far too refined!
Being able to hide one's aura to such a degree, combined with that sword strike, would give them plenty of room for speculation. No matter how powerful a family, none would wish to offend a supreme powerhouse. After all... a true powerhouse could single-handedly annihilate an entire family.
Against a supreme powerhouse, human wave tactics were useless.
For the sake of a petty dispute, offending a suspected Seven-Star Demon? Young Master Sackla wouldn't dare do that.
Lin Lei and the four walked straight out. After a while, Lin Lei noticed no one was following them. He understood that Young Master Sackla had likely given up on revenge.
Bei Bei muttered, "Milo Island is such a beautiful island. What a pity we're leaving after just one day. I was hoping to get a hundred-win streak at the Arena." Going up against Midgods—how could Bei Bei possibly lose? He could just stand there and let them attack.
Unless the opponent also had divine artifacts or Sovereign artifacts, they probably couldn't hurt Bei Bei.
"Let's go. There'll be other chances to come back," Lin Lei said with a light smile.
"Lin Lei, look!" Dilia tugged at Lin Lei's arm in shock. Lin Lei immediately turned to follow her gaze. What he saw startled him too—through the transparent window of a distant restaurant, he could see a cold-faced man with long red hair sitting by the window!
The War God, O'Brien!
"The War God!" Lin Lei exclaimed in joy.
"The War God?" Olivia looked over in confusion, then broke into delight as well.
Any powerhouse who had entered the Infernal Realm understood how rare it was to encounter someone from their own Material Plane in this hellish place. The feeling of meeting a fellow countryman was enough to fill anyone with excitement and elation.
"Haha, the War God!" Bei Bei was the first to charge toward the restaurant.
Lin Lei and the others quickly followed, entering the restaurant. It was a quiet establishment with few customers. There sat O'Brien, calmly sipping a cup of tea.
"The War God has become a Highgod?" Lin Lei was somewhat surprised. Back then, the War God had reached Midgod rank by refining a divine spark. To achieve Highgod rank in less than a thousand years—there was only one possibility: he had refined a Highgod divine spark.
"Hey, War God!" Bei Bei ran straight up to the War God's table.
O'Brien, who had been drinking with his head lowered, froze. War God? In the Infernal Realm, it had been years—how many years?—since anyone had called him that.
O'Brien raised his head and saw Bei Bei beside the table, along with Lin Lei, Dilia, and Olivia approaching. The War God O'Brien's expression froze, then broke into a look of joy: "Lin Lei, it's actually you!"
"O'Brien, long time no see," Lin Lei said with a smile.
"Long time no see," O'Brien smiled back.
"You're not even going to invite us to sit down," Bei Bei huffed.
O'Brien immediately laughed. "Ha ha, I can neglect anyone else, but how could I dare neglect you, Bei Bei? Come, everyone sit down." As he spoke, he waved over a waiter from across the room, who promptly came over.
"We don't feel like eating right now," Lin Lei quickly said.
"Then have some wine." O'Brien casually ordered some wine and began chatting with everyone.
O'Brien asked Lin Lei and Olivia about their experiences over the years. Lin Lei gave only a rough account of what had happened since arriving in the Infernal Realm, leaving out the more dangerous encounters. In just a few sentences, they covered their time on the Bauhinia Continent.
"We also once got trapped in the Amethyst Mountain Range, but managed to escape by sheer luck," Olivia mentioned briefly. When this came up, Dilia specifically activated her "Divine Domain," enveloping the four of them to isolate their voices so no outsiders could hear.
Lin Lei had expected O'Brien to be astonished, but O'Brien showed no particular reaction.
The truth was, O'Brien had been in the Stardust Misty Sea the whole time and knew very little about the affairs of the Bauhinia Continent. He didn't understand what it meant to have been trapped in the Amethyst Mountain Range and escaped!
"Lin Lei, you really have guts. The Infernal Realm is filled with hidden dangers. If I hadn't been with Tarosha back then, I'd probably have died long ago in the Stardust Misty Sea. And here you were, traveling from the Bauhinia Continent all the way to Blood Peak Continent. Impressive—I salute you!" O'Brien marveled.
Olivia merely smiled.
In Olivia's view, with Lin Lei's current strength dominating the Infernal Realm, as long as he didn't provoke some great enemy, there was absolutely nothing to fear.
"So, O'Brien, how about you? How has life been in the Infernal Realm?" Lin Lei asked with a smile.
"We've been alright," O'Brien nodded. "After arriving in the Infernal Realm, among our group there were Tarosha and Di Lin. We encountered some crises, but Tarosha and the others were able to handle them. Later, Tarosha broke through from Midgod to Highgod rank. He achieved it entirely on his own!"
Lin Lei couldn't help but be surprised.
