The red-haired young man's eyebrows shot up in anger, his gaze turning icy.
The silver-haired old man snorted coldly in frustration. "You'd best be sensible! It's just an outfit. Be careful, or you might lose your lives over these clothes!" Bei Bei paid no mind to the silver-haired old man's threat.
"You're threatening me?" Bei Bei rolled his eyes, furious.
But Lin Lei understood the implication.
Lin Lei looked carefully at the red-haired young man, then at the silver-haired old man before him, and thought to himself: "Most people who buy things on the fourth floor of the Freedom Castle are wealthy. And those with great wealth in Hell usually have sufficient power to back it up. In a place like this, for the silver-haired old man to act so arrogantly toward us, he must have a backing."
In an unfamiliar place, although Lin Lei wasn't afraid, he didn't want to make enemies.
"Bei Bei, Dilia, let's go." Lin Lei pulled the seething Bei Bei along and headed straight for the exit. He didn't want to get entangled with these people any further.
"Whoosh!" The four people behind the red-haired young man immediately blocked their path. These four were all High Gods!
"You want to leave?" The stern red-haired youth let out a cold laugh, his posture condescending. "There's nothing I want that I can't get! I'm in a good mood today and don't want to start a fight. You'd best hand that outfit over to me. Otherwise!"
A surge of anger welled up in Lin Lei's heart.
"There's no double price now, but we'll still give you the same amount. Don't say our Bagshaw family is bullying people!" The silver-haired old man sneered. As soon as he said this, the shop owner selling the clothes changed his expression.
The Bagshaw family?
Lin Lei's heart stirred, but he had never been to Milo Island before and had never heard of this Bagshaw family.
"You'd better give them the clothes," the shop owner urged.
"Lin Lei, this Bagshaw family seems very powerful. Let's just give them the clothes," Dilia communicated via divine sense. Lin Lei looked at Dilia beside him, knowing she must be very reluctant in her heart.
Dilia just didn't want to offend anyone for his sake.
"It's fine," Lin Lei said with a faint smile.
Then he turned to look at the group and shouted coldly, "What? In this Freedom Castle, you want to use force too?"
The group froze for a moment.
This was the Freedom Castle, where fighting was explicitly prohibited. Anyone who engaged in combat would be ruthlessly executed by the island guardians.
Just then, the patrol of island guardians on the fourth floor noticed the situation and a squad of ten quickly walked over. The burly, bald leader among them bellowed, "What's going on? Trying to cause trouble here? Do you have a death wish?"
"Yes, they're the ones causing trouble!" Bei Bei said angrily. "Everyone, we bought an outfit, but these people are trying to force us to sell it to them. When we refused, they blocked our way."
Lin Lei watched the scene calmly.
Since the Freedom Castle had such rules, they would not be broken. No matter who the other party was, otherwise, what authority would they have?
"Captain, these people are really arrogant," the other island guardians chimed in.
"You want others to sell clothes to you?" The bald leader, his eyes bulging like those of a bull, glared furiously at the group. "You've got some nerve, acting so arrogantly in the Freedom Castle! No matter who you are, you have no right to be arrogant here!"
Bei Bei immediately broke into a grin.
The stern red-haired youth furrowed his brow and glanced coldly at the island guardian leader. He flipped his hand, and a blood-red token appeared in his palm. The token bore intricate patterns, very similar to the patterns on the island guardians' armor.
"A Blood-Colored Milo Token!" the bald leader stammered, his face changing dramatically immediately after.
"My lord!" All ten island guardians, including the bald leader, bowed respectfully in unison.
Lin Lei, Dilia, and Bei Bei were all shocked.
"Even the highest-level Blood-Colored Milo Token!" The shop owner was also stunned. On Milo Island, the highly authoritative 'Milo Tokens' came in two types: the Green Milo Token and the Blood-Colored Milo Token. The Blood-Colored Milo Token held the highest authority.
But likewise, Blood-Colored Milo Tokens were extremely rare.
"A Blood-Colored Milo Token?" Lin Lei didn't understand what kind of treasure this was, but looking at the ten island guardians, he immediately grasped its value.
The other island guardians on the fourth floor also noticed the unusual situation, and many of them hurried over. Even the chief supervisor of the fourth floor arrived. Soon, several hundred island guardians surrounded the area.
"Young Master Secklar, what's this? Buying clothes for your wife?" The chief supervisor was a handsome blond young man who greeted the young master enthusiastically upon seeing him.
The stern red-haired youth, Secklar, nodded with a faint smile.
"Boss, things don't look good," Bei Bei communicated via divine sense.
Lin Lei could clearly see that the situation was not favorable.
"Lin Lei, let's just give them the clothes," Dilia urged via divine sense. Lin Lei considered briefly. Dilia definitely liked these clothes, and he should have tried to keep them for her. But the opponent's background was obviously overwhelmingly powerful.
He'd just have to swallow his anger for now.
"Sorry, Dilia," Lin Lei said, looking at Dilia. She smiled and shook her head.
Seeing this, the silver-haired old man chuckled, and the stern red-haired youth also let out a disdainful laugh.
"Hmph, it's too late for that now!" The silver-haired old man sneered haughtily. "We won't give you a single black stone now. Will you offer these clothes or not?" The silver-haired old man was seething with anger. As a member of the Bagshaw family, when had he ever been slighted like this?
"However, if you give them to us now, we might be generous enough to let you off," the silver-haired old man said nonchalantly.
"Damn it, keep dreaming!" Bei Bei was furious.
Lin Lei started laughing—a laugh of sheer exasperation!
He had been willing to smooth things over, but the other side was treating him like a pushover!
"What is going on with this Freedom Castle? Coming here to buy things, only to be coerced into giving them away for free. This Freedom Castle isn't free at all! It seems all the talk about Milo Island is fake, and these island guardians are just for show!" Lin Lei's voice echoed through the fourth-floor hall.
The other customers immediately turned their attention over.
The faces of the island guardians darkened, and the Bagshaw family young master, Secklar, also looked grim. The rule passed down through Milo Island from ancient times prohibited fighting within the Freedom Castle, no matter who one was.
Violators would be executed!
If the rules were broken, who would come to do business here in the future?
"Young Master Secklar, this is difficult," the blond chief supervisor communicated via divine sense. The stern Young Master Secklar also understood the gravity of the situation. He glanced at Lin Lei's group and said indifferently, "Let's go!" With that, he left with his people.
The blond chief supervisor looked back at Lin Lei and communicated via divine sense, "Kid, be careful! Here on Milo Island, offending Secklar, you might be safe within the Freedom Castle, but once you leave..." With that, the blond young man left.
The island guardians also departed one by one.
"Those people are really too much!" Bei Bei's anger was hard to quell.
"Lin Lei, it's all my fault," Dilia said softly.
