Chapter 22: Water Drops, Sovereign's Might?

With this drop of Sovereign's Might in hand, whether he used it to kill his opponents or simply used the threat to make them release him and Nissa, he could leave safely! But the moment he took it out, the secret would be revealed, and an exposed trump card was no longer a trump card.

The thought filled Solomon with fury.

He glanced at the expressions of Aliquin and Inigo. The two of them clearly coveted this drop of Sovereign's Might, yet they had no confidence in seizing it.

Solomon said in a low voice, "The Azure Stones and Inkstones in Hell are all created by the Destruction Sovereigns. This black drop of water is none other than the power of a Destruction Sovereign. I happen to cultivate the Path of Destruction, and a Destruction Sovereign's Might combined with the Path of Destruction produces even greater power."

Aliquin's expression turned grim.

In Hell, a Seven-Star Demon was already considered a supreme powerhouse, and Asuras were transcendent figures who dominated the realm. Yet there were 108 Asuras, even more Seven-Star Demons, and throughout history, many Asuras had stepped down from their positions. Accumulated over countless years, the total number of powerhouses in Hell was indeed formidable.

To stand at the absolute peak among these transcendent beings generally required one of the following:

1. Like Eken, one could refine Sovereign's Might! With a single drop of Sovereign's Might, who would dare challenge him?

2. Others among the peak powerhouses possessed Sovereign Artifacts! With a Sovereign Artifact in hand, one could naturally stand above the rest.

3. Some Highgods had achieved Grand Completion, fusing every profound mystery of a single elemental law together. They were naturally the pinnacle among all Highgods.

4. There were, of course, special circumstances as well.

Special circumstances might include a Seven-Star Demon who was also a Divine Beast with a monstrously powerful innate talent, such as "God Devourer." With such a freakish gift, one would naturally be extraordinarily formidable. Others might be Soul Mutants, or possess some other unique advantage.

In short, whether it was the famously renowned Eken of the Zijing Continent or Beirut of the Bloodpeaks Continent, each had their own trump cards to rely on.

Aliquin, on the other hand, was merely a relatively capable Seven-Star Demon. He had no Sovereign's Might, no Sovereign Artifact, and had not achieved Grand Completion... Naturally, he now found himself in a difficult position when facing Solomon.

The difference between attacking with "Sovereign's Might" and attacking with "Highgod's Might" was night and day. Even if there was a vast gap in their comprehension of laws, the fundamental disparity in raw power was simply too great.

It was like comparing an infant who knew swordsmanship to a giant of immense strength. Even if the giant knew nothing of the sword, the comparison was absurd.

The same principle applied.

Solomon's comprehension of laws was only a tenth of his opponent's, but Sovereign's Might dwarfed a Highgod's power by an incomparable margin.

"What? You still want to get your hands on this drop of Sovereign's Might?" Solomon sneered.

"Mr. Aliquin?" Inigo turned to look at Aliquin. In terms of raw strength, Inigo was already inferior to Solomon. The moment Solomon used Sovereign's Might, killing him would take only an instant.

Aliquin hesitated briefly, then let out a low sigh. "Sovereign's Might... just a single drop of water, yet it contains power so terrifying it defies imagination." A note of envy colored his words. How he dreamed of possessing a drop of Sovereign's Might himself.

Even though it was single-use, simply having it as a deterrent would be invaluable. In a critical moment, it could save one's life.

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the Golden Magma Lake, Lin Lei stood there, seemingly lost in thought.

"What's Big Brother thinking about?" Bei Bei and Dilia had both noticed something was off about Lin Lei. "He just heard them talking about 'Sovereign's Might' up above—there's no need to react like this, is there? Although, I have to admit, Sovereign's Might really is tempting."

Dilia whispered, "Tempting? Didn't you hear what Solomon said? Sovereign's Might is incredibly difficult to refine. Very few in all of Hell can even produce it. The Azure Stones and Inkstones consumed in the process are staggeringly expensive—the entire fortune of the Boyi Family, and all they managed to produce was a single drop."

Lin Lei's consciousness had fully entered the Coiling Dragon Ring.

Inside the Coiling Dragon Ring, there were still two cyan drops of water!

"Water drops? Water drops? Sovereign's Might?" Lin Lei felt a jolt of realization. Even if he had been slow on the uptake, the connection was unmistakable. "I've been so dense. A single cyan drop was enough to transform my body to the point where I could withstand a Highgod Artifact's attack head-on. What else could such a monstrous drop of water be but Sovereign's Might?"

The energy required to elevate his body to such a degree would be astronomical.

Only the legendary "Sovereign's Might" could provide that much power from a single drop.

"Oh, I've been so foolish! When I first obtained the Coiling Dragon Ring, I also received that damaged Soul-Defense Sovereign Artifact. That was already a Sovereign Artifact—it should have been obvious... The previous owner of the Coiling Dragon Ring may well have been a Sovereign! And if that was the case, these drops of water would naturally be Sovereign's Might."

Everything fell into place.

Aside from a Sovereign, who else would leave three drops of Sovereign's Might inside the Coiling Dragon Ring upon death?

After all, if it had been a Highgod, they likely would have used up their Sovereign's Might in battle long ago. Only for the great Sovereigns did Sovereign's Might hold little value. After all, Sovereigns possessed virtually limitless reserves of it. Casually leaving behind three drops before death was perfectly normal.

"I've already used one, so there are still these two. If I sold them... what kind of price would they fetch?" Lin Lei mused idly, though of course he would never be foolish enough to actually sell them.

A single drop of Sovereign's Might was a priceless treasure!

The Boyi Family had accumulated wealth over countless years, and on top of that, Eken owed them a personal favor—only then had they persuaded Eken to help refine a single drop of Sovereign's Might. In truth, for a powerhouse of Eken's caliber, the favor was far more valuable than the wealth.

Without that personal connection, no amount of treasure would have been enough to convince Eken to do it.

After all, once Sovereign's Might was refined and given to someone else, there was always the chance that one day it might end up in the hands of an enemy.

"The black drop is Destruction Sovereign's Might. My cyan drops should be Water Sovereign's Might." Lin Lei could actually sense the water-attribute aura contained within the cyan drops. All this time, he had wondered... what exactly was this monstrous substance that could make his body so incredibly tough.

He had never dared to consider that it might be Sovereign's Might.
