At the bottom of the golden magma lake, Lin Lei and the others clearly heard the voices from above.
"Lin Lei, they finally know you were framed." Dilia was quite happy at this moment. Bei Bei said indignantly, "That bastard Salomon—once he found out his identity was exposed, he threw everything aside and decided it was you who leaked the secret, Boss. Someone like him isn't worth being friends with!"
Ever since Salomon had demanded that Aquiner kill Lin Lei and Dilia, Bei Bei had felt extreme disgust toward the man.
"Salomon isn't worth getting angry over," Lin Lei shook his head. "It's just a shame, Bei Bei—Nisa is actually not a bad person."
"Nisa?"
Bei Bei paused. He recalled how he had protected Nisa before, yet she had been somewhat distrustful of him.
Suddenly, the sound of crying drifted down from above.
"That's Nisa." Bei Bei looked up, but all he could see was the churning golden magma above them.
The liquid golden flame made the temperature inside the entire cavern unbearably hot, and even the air within seemed to be warping.
"Lin Lei… was framed?" Salomon stood in place, momentarily silenced.
But Nisa's grief, suppressed for so long, erupted completely. She suddenly lunged straight toward the golden magma lake. Alarmed, Salomon rushed forward and grabbed her hand: "Nisa, what are you doing? Are you trying to kill yourself?"
That was liquid golden flame.
Perhaps a powerful Highgod could endure it, but a Midgod entering it would almost certainly die.
"It's my fault, it's my fault! I should have believed Bei Bei! I should have trusted him!" Nisa wept. Her heart was now filled with infinite regret. When Bei Bei had charged into the golden magma lake before, she had felt grief too.
But there had been another voice in her heart—Bei Bei was deliberately getting close to her! He was deceiving her!
That was what had allowed Nisa to keep standing there. But when she learned that Lin Lei had been framed, it was as though countless bolts of lightning had detonated inside her head—
She was wrong!!!
Lin Lei was framed, which meant Bei Bei's feelings for her had been genuine all along!
"He never deceived me! He never once deceived me! Bei Bei risked his life to save me, yet I doubted him—I didn't believe him!" Nisa's face was streaked with tears. She tried to move closer to the golden magma lake, but how could Salomon watch his sister march to her death? He gripped her hand firmly, saying anxiously, "Nisa, Bei Bei and the others are already dead! He's dead!!! Regretting it now won't change anything."
"Dead?" Nisa froze, then collapsed weakly at the edge of the magma lake.
"Nisa, why are you so pretty?"
"Being pretty is so you'll fall in love with me!"
Their old playful banter echoed in her ears as if it were happening right now. Nisa turned her hand over, and a straw hat appeared in her palm—the one Bei Bei had given her.
"Nisa, this straw hat is one I brought from my home, the Yulan Continent. You can't buy one in Hell, so take good care of it. I'm thinking that someday when we have a child, I'll put a straw hat on the kid too, and all three of us in our little family will wear straw hats. Haha…"
Bei Bei's words from back then still rang in her ears. Nisa stared at the straw hat in her hand and felt her heart trembling!
In an instant, boundless regret gnawed at her soul like worms!
Suddenly, Nisa began to cry—silently.
Seeing this, a particular emotion surged within Salomon—regret! Seeing his sister like this, Salomon felt a twinge of remorse. After all, his sister was his only family. He could be ruthless and scheming toward others, but he still cared for his sister.
"Nisa…" Salomon knelt down and reached out to steady her shoulders, wanting to comfort her. "Don't be sad. Bei Bei is already dead. It's too late for anything now. It's my fault—I'm sorry."
"Dead?" Nisa looked at the boiling golden magma before her. She suddenly recalled how Bei Bei had been perfectly fine even after being struck directly by a Highgod's blade. Something clicked in her mind, and she immediately turned to look at Aquiner: "Mr. Aquiner, Bei Bei's body defense is incredibly powerful—he must have been able to withstand this liquid golden flame! He's at the bottom of this lake, he's not dead, right? Tell me—tell me Bei Bei isn't dead, Mr. Aquiner!" Nisa's tear-filled eyes fixed intently on Aquiner.
Nisa's heart was full of regret.
All she wanted now was for Bei Bei to appear before her, alive.
But Aquiner shook his head and said flatly, "Miss Nisa, I'll tell you—the one called Bei Bei is dead! Those Highgods, and that couple called Lin Lei—everyone who fell in there is dead!"
"Nisa, if Bei Bei were alive, wouldn't he have come out by now?" Salomon urged.
Nisa lowered her head to look at the straw hat in her hand, and the pain in her chest was unbearable.
At the bottom of the golden magma lake.
"Nisa!" Bei Bei was crying too. Hearing Nisa's weeping and her words, he wept.
Bei Bei suddenly tried to charge out, regardless of everything.
*Boom!* A tremendous force appeared above Bei Bei's head. He slammed into it headfirst and bounced back down.
"Are you looking to die?!" That deep voice echoed through the minds of Lin Lei and the other two. "I warned you not to leave this liquid golden flame lake for now! This is your warning—if there's a next time, all three of you will die!"
Bei Bei was completely stunned. He turned to look at Lin Lei and Dilia.
"Boss, I'm sorry," Bei Bei said in a low voice. He understood that their lives were in Pusluo's hands, and what he had just done had put Lin Lei and Dilia in danger.
Lin Lei patted Bei Bei's shoulder but didn't know what to say.
"Bei Bei," Dilia comforted him. "Don't worry too much. Once we get out, you'll still be able to see Nisa. Just bear with it for now."
"Mm." Bei Bei nodded slightly.
