Chapter 41: Sudden Change

This astonishing elemental tremor was so powerful that even magic beginners could clearly sense it. From god-level powerhouses down to magic apprentices, countless people were shocked by the sheer scale of the elemental tremor. One hundred forbidden spells cast back to back probably wouldn't produce anything quite this staggering.

"Grandpa Belute, what exactly is going on?" Bei Bei asked curiously.

Lin Lei also looked toward Belute. Belute chuckled and said, "The ruler of the Gobada Plane Prison—'Cyanfire'—you two know him, right? He's the one behind all this. And he's planning to rebuild his original homeland—that shattered, sunken continent."

"What?" Lin Lei and Bei Bei were both stunned.

Build a continent?

"That Cyanfire is a complete madman," Belute sighed. "Sure, he's a highgod, but building a continent would drain an astronomical amount of divine power and mental energy. We're talking about an enormous landmass, not some tiny island."

"You can build a continent?" Bei Bei couldn't believe his ears.

Belute nodded. "Cyanfire has two highgod divine clones, and his comprehension of the laws is terrifying. With his strength, building a continent in a material plane isn't impossible. Still, I think the man is just a bit too crazy."

"Crazy?" Lin Lei couldn't help but gaze toward the south.

Building a continent—what an incredible sight that would be. Perhaps only someone at Lord Cyanfire's level would have the ability to pull it off.

In the South Sea, a vast distance from the Yulan Continent, the boundless ocean was bubbling like a giant cauldron. Hot steam hissed upward, and the boiling zone stretched for ten thousand miles across. At the very center of this turbulent area, scorching magma could be seen rocketing high into the sky.

Above the erupting magma, the violent fire-elemental forces warped the very fabric of space, and within that distortion floated a solitary figure.

Clad in a dark crimson robe, the figure hovered above the ocean like a deity—Cyanfire, "Reillin."

Some dozens of miles away, a bald, brawny man named "Burgess" and his companion exchanged glances. The white-robed middle-aged man sighed, "Big brother, third brother really is something else. He triggered magma from such an enormous area of the seabed, using that subterranean volcano as the epicenter. Absolutely insane."

"Fortunately, third brother's comprehension of the fire-elemental laws has reached a near-perfect level. Otherwise, pulling off something like this would be far from easy."

Reillin's fame was built entirely on his mastery of the fire-elemental laws. The title "Cyanfire" was proof of his achievements in that domain. His fire-aspected highgod divine clone far surpassed his earth-aspected one in power.

It wasn't that his earth aspect was weak—it was that his fire aspect was simply too strong.

Magma erupted ceaselessly from the ocean floor, and the occasional burst that broke the surface was merely a millionth of the total outpouring. The vast majority of the magma from the seabed eruption cooled and solidified into rock beneath the waves.

The range of magma Reillin had drawn forth spanned hundreds of thousands of miles along the ocean floor. By expertly guiding and controlling the flow, he concentrated enormous volumes of magma within that ten-thousand-mile zone. Once cooled and solidified by the seawater, the water level over this area would become extremely shallow.

In some places, rock had already risen above sea level. Most other spots were only a few hundred meters deep.

In the deep waters of the South Sea, this was virtually inconceivable. But Cyanfire had done it.

"Third brother's next step will be tougher," the bald brawny man "Burgess" said, watching Reillin's distant silhouette. "Controlling vast quantities of soil and rock to gather together and form a continent... In the earth-elemental laws, third brother isn't nearly as formidable as he is with fire."

The white-robed middle-aged man nodded. Both of them watched Reillin from afar.

Reillin exhaled slowly, then extended both hands—

"Hummmmm~"

The endless earth elements across heaven and earth fell under his control. Across hundreds of thousands of miles, every rock and particle of soil on the ocean floor responded to his will, converging toward the area where the magma had cooled—a zone nearly ten thousand miles in diameter.

Such a massive extraction of earth elements created a vacuum in the elemental field stretching tens of thousands of miles in every direction.

"Boom!" Earth elements from neighboring regions rushed in to fill the void, and the resulting spatial tremors warped the fabric of reality. The flood of elements produced an elemental tide.

The ocean across hundreds of thousands of miles shuddered, and countless marine creatures met an untimely fate. In truth, the moment the subterranean magma had been unleashed, it had already boiled alive a great number of organisms.

"Too slow!"

At this rate, forming a complete continent would take ten days to half a month.

Reillin's brow furrowed, his crimson eyebrows nearly touching. "Looks like it's not going to be simple!" With that, his entire body split in two. One of them—a divine clone clad in a golden robe—silently disintegrated, dissolving into the world. Instantly, the speed at which soil and rock across hundreds of thousands of miles were being transported increased severalfold.

"My earth divine clone has accumulated divine power over countless ages—this time it'll probably be completely drained," murmured the fire-aspected divine clone "Reillin" in his dark crimson robe.

Reillin's return to the Yulan Continent had left a bitter taste in his mouth. After all, his homeland had been utterly destroyed—its very continent shattered and sunk. So Reillin chose the original site of his homeland, detonating the magma deep below. At least the seabed there was comparatively shallow, which lowered the difficulty somewhat.

Building a continent and building an elemental mansion were entirely different propositions.

In the O'Brien Empire, inside the imperial palace.

Adkins gazed toward the south, his brow deeply furrowed. Bernard stood respectfully at his side.

"Lord Cyanfire truly has nerve," Adkins said.

Bernard spoke in a low voice, "Building a continent like that—the consumption of divine power and mental energy must be staggering."

Adkins let out a disdainful scoff. "The divine power and mental energy drain is massive, no question. But building a continent relies primarily on his earth divine clone. In other words, his strongest clone—the fire aspect—won't suffer any significant loss of power."

"Cyanfire… he's simply too powerful."

Adkins tilted his head back and fell into a long, silent contemplation.
