The guard led Ogavin forward, but after a while, he came to a stop.
"Why did you stop?" Ogavin immediately demanded. At that moment, Ogavin had already deployed a small-scale Domain of a God, ensuring their voices wouldn't carry.
The guard answered in a flat tone: "All I know is that several lords live in the buildings here, and we're normally not allowed to go inside. Which lord lives in which building, I don't know." The guard's response left Ogavin momentarily stunned.
But he understood.
The area where Olivia and the others resided was off-limits to the guards on a normal basis.
"Buildings inside…" Ogavin could see six or seven two-story villas within, each with its own courtyard. "This is going to be troublesome. I don't know which one Olivia is in." His brow furrowed deeply.
The Martial God, the High Priest, Tarosha, Di Lin,
Cesar cultivated one of the profound mysteries within the Laws of Darkness — the mystery of concealment and escape.
To Cesar, darkness was like a mother, something that made him feel completely at ease. He could effortlessly merge into the darkness, making himself undetectable to others. At the same time, Cesar could sense things that were incongruous with the dark.
For instance, he could clearly feel that in the building right next to his, there was a blazing, fiery aura.
Like a spark in the middle of the night, impossible to miss.
"Hmm?" Cesar's brow furrowed. "Why would someone be approaching this late at night?"
As the King of Assassins, one who had mastered the arts of stealth, Cesar was the first to detect the intruders near their domain. And he could sense that the visitor was more than one person: "Such faint auras — a pity, they can't escape my perception."
Cesar didn't even need to use his divine sense.
For Cesar, using divine sense would be a foolish move. The moment you deployed it, others would naturally detect you as well.
Cesar's entire body vanished into thin air. Only a god-level powerhouse observing with extreme care would notice that the darkness inside the villa had shifted ever so slightly. Concealed within the dark, Cesar swiftly exited his building and moved outside.
And at that moment… Ogavin was there with the guard, not far away.
"It's him!" A mere hundred meters separated them, and Cesar recognized the other party instantly.
This gave Cesar quite a fright, and then he sneered: "This Ogavin really has some nerve, coming here in the dead of night." It had to be said, Cesar's concealment skills were truly formidable. Hidden a hundred meters from Ogavin, the latter hadn't the slightest inkling of Cesar's presence.
Cesar immediately sent his divine sense toward Tarosha's residence.
Tarosha hadn't made any special effort to hide his presence, so Cesar found him easily. "Lord Tarosha, Ogavin is here. He's outside."
"Ogavin?"
Tarosha was startled, but immediately a surge of irritation rose in his heart. "This Ogavin — I've held back twice already, and now he actually thinks I wouldn't dare kill him?" Tarosha shot out of his residence and landed outside.
Tarosha's concealment was obviously far inferior to Cesar's, but his speed was remarkable! His residence was only a hundred-odd meters from Ogavin. With such a short distance, the moment Tarosha flew out and spotted Ogavin, he shot toward him like a bolt of lightning.
"For now, I need to find one of the attendants who specifically serve these god-level powerhouses and make some inquiries," Ogavin thought, still planning to question another servant.
"Hmm?" Ogavin turned his head in surprise.
A figure was hurtling toward him at tremendous speed. Ogavin's expression changed drastically, and he cursed inwardly: "Damn it, it's him again!!!" Seeing that it was Tarosha coming, Ogavin knew he had failed once more. Despite his unwillingness, he couldn't afford to hesitate — he immediately rocketed skyward.
"You bastard, you think you can run?!" Tarosha's roar echoed throughout Dragonblood Castle.
Instantly, a great many people within Dragonblood Castle were jolted awake.
"Hisssssssssss—" An ear-splitting shriek pierced through heaven and earth in an instant, far louder than any thunderclap, far more piercing to the ear.
"What is that?!"
Wotton, Gates, and all the others who had rushed out of their buildings upon hearing the roar stared in shock at the scene before them. Overhead above Dragonblood Castle, a massive azure serpent wound through the sky, its body stretching a full ten thousand meters in length. Its trunk — thicker than several stories of a building — sent chills down the spine.
The enormous azure serpent coiled in midair, its head raised high, and the piercing shriek emanated from its gaping maw.
"No!" A figure hung frozen in midair, screaming in desperation.
The colossal serpent head opened its jaws, and the very fabric of heaven and earth began to tremble violently. The figure resisted for barely an instant before the overwhelming force of the pull became irresistible, and he was swallowed directly into the serpent's belly.
The ten-thousand-meter-long azure serpent finally transformed back into human form — it was Tarosha, with his green hair cascading down.
Tarosha descended, still cursing: "That Ogavin — he really thought I was too good-natured to kill him, huh? Hmph, ever since leaving the Tomb of the Gods, I haven't opened my killing spree yet. That fellow didn't care one bit about what I said."
Below, a large crowd had gathered. Even Lin Lei and Dilia had come running.
"That was Ogavin just now?" Lin Lei hadn't gotten a clear look either — he'd only vaguely seen the figure swallowed by Tarosha.
Tarosha's true form was something Lin Lei had already witnessed once before on the third level of the Tomb of the Gods.
"It was Ogavin," Cesar said with a smile. "That Ogavin actually managed to sneak into Dragonblood Castle. He thought none of us could detect him. But… he hadn't even gotten close to me before I'd already sensed his presence." In front of Cesar, a master of concealment, Ogavin thought he could sneak around undetected?
What a dream.
One was a mid-level god and the other a low-level god, but Cesar's expertise lay precisely in this field.
"Haha, Tarosha, you got to use that swallowing trick of yours again," Di Lin said with a laugh.
