Chapter 17 Disaster (Part 2)

January 17, 2020 · 3 min read · 655 words

Black dragons belonged to the apex among magical beasts. The black dragon clan was generally composed of ninth-tier magical beasts, and the strongest among them could even be Saint-realm powerhouses. Whether ninth-tier or Saint-realm, neither could compare to the "Rapid Dragon" they had encountered the day before.

Right now, a group of children and three instructors from the eastern clearing of Wushan Town were only a few hundred meters away from the black dragon. Observing the hundred-meter-long black colossus from such close range was more awe-inspiring than any words could convey.

What was most shocking of all—

Standing atop the head of the hovering black dragon was a gray-robed figure, standing with quiet pride. Wild winds howled through the sky, whipping the gray robe into violent snaps, yet he stood as straight as a javelin, steady as bedrock amidst the gale. His gaze was fixed on a green-clad middle-aged man hovering in midair before him, the man carrying a long sword on his back.

At this moment, the gray-robed man standing atop the black dragon was locked in a standoff with the sword-bearing green-clad man.

Hovering in midair!

Aside from wind-element mages who could cast the seventh-tier spell "Levitation," only Saint-realm powerhouses could stand suspended in the air. And the green-clad man bearing a long sword on his back made his identity unmistakable.

A warrior. A Saint-realm warrior.

"A gray-robed man who subdued a black dragon? And a Saint-realm powerhouse who can fly?" Eight-year-old Lin Lei watched the scene unfold. Even though he had witnessed a massive battle just the day before, he was completely awestruck all over again. It wasn't just him—even Hillman, a sixth-tier warrior, stood there stunned.

"A Saint-realm powerhouse. It's actually a Saint-realm powerhouse," Hillman murmured, his entire body trembling slightly.

Hillman, who had faced life and death more times than he could count, was the first to fully regain his composure. But even after coming back to his senses, he felt as though the past two days had been a dream: "Yesterday an eighth-tier dual-element mage showed up, and today it's even more absurd—two Saint-realm powerhouses and a black dragon, all at once. In my entire life, Hillman has never experienced anything this staggering."

Hillman felt his head spinning.

A black dragon—those were the apex magical beasts, ninth-tier at a minimum. Whoever could subdue one was almost certainly a Saint-realm powerhouse. And from another angle, the only one who dared to stand in a standoff against a Saint-realm powerhouse was another Saint-realm powerhouse.

All of this proved that the gray-robed man was a Saint-realm powerhouse.

Hillman and the others were a full several hundred meters away from the black dragon. No matter how keen their hearing, they could not make out the conversation between the two Saint-realm powerhouses.

They had no idea what the two were discussing. As they spoke and spoke—

"ROAAAAR~~~"

Suddenly the massive black dragon let out a furious roar. Its enormous wings beat down with tremendous force, and a terrifying wave of pressure erupted outward. Everyone, Hillman included, felt their breath cut off and their legs go weak.

"Is this… Dragon Might?" Lin Lei felt as though a giant boulder was pressing down on his chest, suffocating him, yet he still felt a thrill of excitement run through him. The blood inside him was boiling.

This black dragon was simply too powerful.

"Ludi! Don't push it too far!" The green-clad man's voice erupted like a clap of thunder reverberating between heaven and earth. Not only Hillman and the others heard it—every single person in Wushan Town heard it.

That shout dissolved the dragon's pressure, and everyone could breathe normally again.

Hillman blinked, muttering, "Ludi? Ludi?"

But after only a moment, Hillman suddenly reacted. He whipped around to face all the children and bellowed, "Everyone, get home! Now! Go home and hide yourselves properly, move!!!" Hillman's roar and his savage expression left all the children stunned.
