This sudden turn of events caught many by surprise. Although the Ji clan members had intended to keep everyone from the Spirit World Association here, they hadn't planned on gravely injuring them — after all, this was still the Spirit World Association's turf.
However, when they got a clear look at the person who had been sent flying, their expressions changed dramatically. The injured party wasn't from the Spirit World Association at all — it was one of their own Ji clan members.
"What's going on?!"
The scene left the Ji clan members stunned, and even Ma Qiang and the others from the Spirit World Association stood there with their jaws hanging open, unable to make sense of what had just happened.
"You're right about what you said — today, no one can save you!" Just then, a calm, faint laugh rang out.
Everyone turned to look and were shocked once more. There stood Chu Feng, walking into the midst of their battle circle, casually rubbing his hands together with a look that practically screamed he was raring to go.
"Brother Chu Feng, was that your doing just now?"
Ma Qiang stared at Chu Feng in disbelief. The Ji clan member lying on the ground, gravely injured and already unconscious, was a Yuan Martial Fifth Level expert. Yet anyone could sense that Chu Feng was only at the Yuan Martial First Level.
"Brother Ma Qiang, I have a bit of a grudge against these Ji clan members. Would you mind leaving them to me?" Chu Feng said with a grin.
"You — you want to deal with them all by yourself?" Another young woman from the Spirit World Association gaped at him in shock.
"A bunch of useless wretches. Taking care of them is something I, Chu Feng, can handle on my own. You all just rest on the side." Chu Feng waved his hand dismissively at Ma Qiang.
"You've got quite the big mouth." Hearing Chu Feng's words, one of the Ji clan members flew into a rage and was about to lunge at him.
But before he could make a move, a large hand stopped him. It was Jie Chuan. While fighting Ma Qiang and the others earlier, Jie Chuan had been ferociously aggressive, yet now, looking at Chu Feng, his face was all smiles and pleasant goodwill.
"Brother Chu Feng, this is a private matter between the Ji clan and the Spirit World Association. Would you mind not getting involved?" Jie Chuan said to Chu Feng with a smile.
"I don't care about your little dispute, but our grudge — that still needs to be settled." As Chu Feng spoke, he cast a glance toward Jie Heng and the two others who had just backed him up.
"Our grudge?" Jie Chuan looked confused for a moment, but quickly caught on. He turned to Jie Heng and Jie Gang and roared, "You idiots — what did you do to Brother Chu Feng?!"
"I..." Jie Heng hung his head in silence, clearly terrified of Jie Chuan. In fact, the moment Jie Chuan had spoken up, none of the other Ji clan members dared to talk back either. It was evident that Jie Chuan held a fair amount of standing among the Ji clan.
"Forget it, no need for the fake pleasantries. Even if you don't bear me any ill will, that doesn't mean the rest of them feel the same. The die is already cast, and it's not something you can smooth over." Chu Feng could tell that Jie Chuan genuinely didn't want to make an enemy of him, but the other Ji clan members thought otherwise.
"Ah..." Hearing Chu Feng's words, Jie Chuan let out a resigned sigh. "Brother Chu Feng, I truly don't want to fight you, but I have my orders. I absolutely must keep certain members of the Spirit World Association trapped on this second level. I'm afraid I have no choice but to offend you."
The moment he finished speaking, Jie Chuan struck. The oppressive aura of Yuan Martial Sixth Level exploded outward as waves of Yuan Force howled through the surrounding air. This Jie Chuan was even a cut above Ma Qiang — his strength was not to be underestimated.
"Attack!" The instant Jie Chuan moved, Jie Heng, Jie Gang, and the rest of the Ji clan members surged forward together, each unleashing powerful martial arts techniques as they surrounded and assaulted Chu Feng from every direction.
