■Dungeon My Knife:
These are the knives that were lost during Season 1 through the first half of Season 4.
■Knife #1
●First Appearance: Wof, 13 Years Old (5)
●Lost:
The very first knife he had.
A cheap one, but he'd sharpened it himself and used it as a kitchen knife too.
●Cause of Death:
It snapped clean in half when he looked away for a second.
Part of the leather armor he was struggling to remove had metal in it.
The knife caught on it at a weird angle, went *pop*, and that was that.
■Knife #2
●First Appearance: Ash Blossom (3) — Holy Edge.
●Lost:
Bought to replace the first knife after it broke.
Similar to the one before it.
●Cause of Death:
First, he took the egg container out of his pouch.
He cracked the contents over the knife blade. The wet knife glinted in the light.
As a result, it stopped cutting.
■Number 3
●First Appearance: The Quiet One④
●Sacrifice:
The knife I splurged on for 20,000 oro.
●Cause of Death:
Vanished by the Relic Banish due to Wof's carelessness.
■Number 4
●First Appearance: Crown of the Wonderland④
●Sacrifice:
A secondhand knife.
Simple build, thick. A bit heavy. Sturdy.
●Cause of Death:
It lunged at me with a stabbing slash, but I calmly deflected with my knife.
When the blade made contact — my knife's blade was severed.
—!?
No, that's wrong. I could tell. It wasn't severed. It was erased.
■Number 5
●First Appearance: The Junkyard Resumes(3) — Bone-Extracting Brain-Marrow Shura Hunter's Grip.
●Sacrifice:
A knife I found at the Junkyard. Some tribe's knife.
A broad, warped black single-edged blade. A round sword guard. It vaguely resembled the tsuba of a Japanese sword.
The handle was smooth white stone. The sheath was hard wood.
●Cause of Death:
But when Raw Body A squirmed its left arm, it turned the limb into a blade.
It swung down mid-charge, and I stepped forward to catch it with the knife.
In that instant, the knife's blade melted.
■Sixth Knife
●First Appearance: Tassan Obelisk (2)
●Sacrifice:
One of three I bought for 50,000 oro.
A plain knife. It was actually from the Standard Series.
●Cause of Death
Pies raised its sword, and I caught it with the knife again... then released it in an instant.
With a crunch, the knife that had taken the blade's impact fell, and I jumped back.
And just like that, I left the dropped knife behind and forgot about it.
■Seventh Knife:
●First Appearance: Cat and Dog ⑥
●Sacrifice:
The second of the knives I bought for 50,000 oro. A knife with a strange, upward-curving single-edged blade.
A bit on the heavy side, but thick and powerful.
●Cause of death:
Only the hand holding the knife had been flash-frozen.
Wh-why!?
"Damn it, why just this hand?"
Irritated, I used Banish. If I didn't hurry, I'd get frostbite.
The ice on my hand and the knife's handle vanished.
The blade dropped.
●Revival:
Afterward, Pakira found it and handed it to Wof.
It was reborn as a new double-edged knife.
■Eighth knife:
●First appearance: Tomb of Death ④ - Yomido's Saturnus. Tomb of Death ⑥ - Rest in Peace.
●Sacrifice:
Elixir knife. A knife coated in elixir, turned into an undead-specializing weapon.
●Cause of death:
During the fight with Saturnus, I used Silent Move.
The elixir knife had broken. I'll say that again. The elixir knife had broken.
The elixir knife I'd been gripping tightly was missing most of its blade.
It hadn't snapped cleanly in half, either. It had broken partway through with a clean snap.
It was broken diagonally from the base, a huge section missing. An entire chunk of the blade was simply gone.
■Number 9:
●First appearance: Rank V Delver (1)
●Victim:
Agaro's knife. A wide, long knife with a red blade.
●Cause of death:
The blade doubled with an afterimage, and Riv charged in.
The strike came down and I caught it with the knife.
A powerful impact and pressure. At that moment, the knife felt strangely heavy.
It felt dangerous, and I tried to pull back, but my body wouldn't move.
The blade's afterimage froze solid.
"Crash Edge."
The knife shattered.
●Revival:
A mysterious nanomachine capsule from Riv's belongings.
The knife fragments and unobtainium were placed inside, and it became Agaro's knife, remade.
■Number 10:
●First appearance: Arc Lab ④
●Victim:
A crumbly knife found under a piece of wood.
●Cause of death:
What's going on here. Well, I guess I have no choice but to believe it now.
As I walked, something crunched and cracked under my foot.
"What was that?"
"What is it?"
Looking down, there was a wooden plank. A piece of a wooden box.
Underneath that piece of wood was a rusty knife.
It was so worn down that it snapped apart the moment I stepped on it.
■No. 11
●First appearance: Prelude (1)
●Victim:
Just a knife I picked up from the storage room of the church in the deepest part of the Tomb of Death.
●Cause of death:
Arc Lab's barbecue party.
A completely ordinary knife that was in the deepest part of the Tomb of Death, but nothing special. Alright. I'll use it.
The meat was cut thick, so it'd be better to slice it thin. I went wide, and the meat looked a little tough too.
In that case, I'll bring it down in one swing.
"Hold on. That meat's got a bone in it."
The blade bit hard into something solid with a harsh crunch.
I pulled with force to free it, and at the same time—the knife split apart diagonally with a crack.
■The 12th One
●First appearance: Gentle Hydrangea 6 — Dog Search.
●Sacrifice:
Short sword with a vermillion scabbard: straight blade with a black-lacquered handle. The temper line follows a reverse clove pattern.
Double-edged knife: black semicircular guard and pure white handle.
A double-edged knife with a metal ring on the pommel. Cuts well.
●Cause of death:
Surprised as I was, I swung the short sword at Arveld in a daze.
"[Crash]"
The short sword shattered.
Still stunned, I found Arveld right in front of me.
Instinctively, I slashed with the double-edged knife.
"[Crash]"
The double-edged knife shattered.
■The 13th One
●First appearance:
The Bondsworn
9 — Training Begins.
●Sacrifice:
The knife goddess's charm knife: a beautiful knife that looked like pristine white feathers.
Commemorative item: 10 knives broken.
●Cause of death:
The chimera's eyeball was big. About the size of a baseball, I'd say.
My knife melted when I tried to extract it.
"......"
I had a bad feeling. I really did.
So when I tried to slip the knife goddess's charm knife in behind the eyeball to pry it out—
Dissolving liquid oozed out from the gap with a sizzle and some smoke, and when I pulled it out—
The blade was dissolving, sizzling and smoking.
I panicked and tossed it aside, and it completely melted.
■Number 14
●First appearance: Late-Night Festival (3) — Final Battle.
●Sacrifice:
Agaro's modified knife: a blade like blue flames.
Ripples pulse across it like an LCD panel.
It can cut through phenomena and concepts.
●Cause of death:
Once they got in range, he casually swung Sombré Gladius, unlike his usual self.
The slash was a black vortex.
I blocked it with Agaro's Modified Knife. The blade vanished in an instant.
"Huh."
The tip had vanished, traced away in an arc.
■ Number 15
● First appearance: Late-Night Festival (3) — Final Battle.
● Sacrifice:
Thick square knife: when drawn, the handle curved into a shape like a machete.
Housed in a leather sheath; when unsheathed, a pitch-black square blade.
● Cause of death:
The second black vortex slash claimed the knife I had just bought.
■ Number 16
● First appearance: Late-Night Festival (3) — Final Battle.
● Sacrifice:
Silver cross-shaped knife: something I found in a desert dungeon.
● Cause of death:
The third spiraling sword slash annihilated the silver cross-shaped knife.
■ Number 17
● First appearance: Ausdrakudu Ruins (1)
● Sacrifice:
A double-edged knife with a plain, straight handle: war trophy.
● Cause of death:
There was a broken door halfway through that looked like it could swing open at any moment. On closer inspection, it was warped.
I jammed a double-edged knife with a plain, straight handle into the gap.
After trying a few, this one was the right thickness.
I gripped the knife's handle and wrenched it hard.
With a snap, the door came loose. It clattered to the ground.
Along with the knife's blade.
Clink, clatter — the broken blade fell.
■ Entry #18
● First Appearance: Our Journey: Preparation Arc (2) — Kaede Akima's Style.
● Sacrifice:
Black-bladed knife
● Cause of Death:
The black-bladed knife broke. No — it was cut by Kaede.
■ Entry #19
● First Appearance: Our Journey: Preparation Arc (2) — Kaede Akima's Style.
● Sacrifice:
Saw-bladed knife
● Cause of Death:
In a pinch, I pulled out a different... saw-bladed knife and took a stance.
I deflected her slash. The saw portion of the saw-bladed knife chipped off.
It snapped off right there. Anti-climactic.
■Number 20
●First Appearance: Our Journey: Preparation Arc (2) – Kaede Akima's Style.
●Victim:
"Sword Breaker"
●Cause of Death:
Her blade had become completely entangled in Sword Breaker's comb-like blade.
All it took was a twist, and the blade would snap. That was the mechanism.
"Shall we end this here? It will break."
A cheap threat. She wasn't used to doing this.
Come to think of it, how could she see so accurately with a blindfold on?
"...N-not yet, not yet, de gozaru. Master Wof. This one has not had enough play. Besides, 'Oni Ippōgen' is not the kind of
demon
forged
blade
that breaks so easily, de gozaru."
Kaede's lips twisted into a delighted smirk, and she pulled back her blade.
A clear act of suicide. But the thing that shattered the instant she pulled back was Sword Breaker.
"!"
The comb-like blade crumbled to pieces.
■ Item #21
●First Appearance: Our Journey: Travelogue Part 3 — Wof and the Loot.
●Sacrifice:
A loot knife.
●Cause of Death:
Stacking it against the first Sword Breaker.
I inserted the blade into the gaps of the brush-shaped weapon.
The gaps were open just enough — perfect for catching a blade.
"I'll just use the lever principle like this—"
*Snap*... the knife broke.
It broke so easily.
■ Items #22–27
●First Appearance: Our Journey: Travelogue Part 3 — Wof and the Loot.
●Sacrifice:
Five various loot knives.
●Cause of Death:
The ones with chipped blades, rust, or caked-on blood and grime — Banish.
The ones coated in poison, too — Banish.
■ Items #27–33
●First Appearance: Trading City Heizen 7 — The Full Truth of the Hidden Safe House, Revealed.
● Sacrifice:
Various knives from the bandit loot.
● Cause of death:
Going through the loot knives again.
The useless ones got Banished one after another. About six of them, I think.
■ #34
● First Appearance: Full Moon Bazaar ⑥
● Sacrifice:
The elixir-cutting knife.
● Cause of death:
A scream that felt like it would split open ripped through the night.
At the same time, the elixir-cutting knife snapped with a sharp crack.
■ #35
● First Appearance: Forest Wave · Interlude (3) · Oni Ichimonji
● Sacrifice:
A large, heavy stone knife with an edge curved like the blade of an axe, giving it a wicked sharpness.
It had patterns carved into it that looked like something from the Inca civilization.
● Cause of death:
"—Oni Ichimonji."
The blade I drew cut a line through the air and bisected the mimic.
The knife I was using at the same time.
A 'large, dramatic knife whose tip curved like an axe blade, keen-edged' shatters to pieces.
The blade broke apart in a truly spectacular fashion. Ah... ah well.
■36th
●First Appearance: Dungeon Rhapsody ⑳·The Black Spider Woman.
●Victim:
A heavily curved knife.
It had a crossguard, like a knife version of a saber.
●Cause of Death:
It attacked a Red Ant from behind. The knife's blade snapped against the Red Ant's scales.
Snap went the 'heavily curved knife.' Lies, surely.
■37th
●First Appearance: Dungeon Rhapsody ㉓·Dungeon Core.
●Victim:
The Time Knife.
●Cause of Death:
"...The Time Knife is gone..."
Come to think of it, since I stabbed it into that strange black body of the red-masked thing—I don't recall ever retrieving it.
I forgot. I left it somewhere incomprehensible, at the end of the light of time or something.
Rest in peace.
