Shi Feng hadn't expected Daoyu Wusheng to be so generous.
The ring Daoyu Wusheng produced was just an ordinary silver band, but Shi Feng knew it was extremely valuable.
Because he had seen this ring before — he'd even owned one himself.
It was called the Ring of Space, a storage item.
Don't let its Iron Rank quality fool you; it could hold quite a lot — a full two hundred slots — without adding any extra weight. But that wasn't even its most important feature. The Ring of Space truly shone in combat.
In everyday fighting there was no need for it, but when experts clashed, or during large-scale battles, or in boss fights, it played a non-negligible role.
For instance, when you needed to use a magic scroll or an auxiliary item mid-battle, you normally had to fumble through your backpack to find it, wasting precious seconds. With the Ring of Space, however, all it took was a single thought, and the item inside would instantly appear in your hand.
It was incomparably more convenient than a backpack.
Yet Shi Feng shook his head and said, "This is far too valuable. I can't accept it."
"Brother Yefeng, if you refuse, it'll make me uncomfortable. I never take advantage of friends, and this would weigh on my conscience. Besides, it's just a storage item — it's really not that precious. Please, take it," Daoyu Wusheng insisted.
"How about this — I actually have a favor to ask of you, Brother Daoyu. What's your current reputation in Star Moon City?" Shi Feng sighed and asked softly.
Daoyu Wusheng was taken aback, unsure why Shi Feng would ask that, but he answered honestly, "I'm still thirty points away from becoming a noble of Star Moon City."
Star Moon City, as the royal capital, was the hardest place in the entire Star Moon Kingdom to build reputation. Even though Daoyu Wusheng and his team were already quite formidable, they were still a fair distance from achieving noble status.
"Thirty points?" Shi Feng fell into thought, murmuring to himself. "That's not too many. If I drop a few quests, I should be able to cover it."
"Brother Yefeng, does the thing you need done require one to be a noble?" Daoyu Wusheng asked.
"Mm." Shi Feng nodded.
Only Star Moon City nobles with sufficient reputation could purchase small market stalls.
And the transfer of stalls could only take place between Star Moon City nobles — there was no easy way around it.
But Shi Feng was a Demon Slayer; everywhere he went, he enjoyed noble-level treatment. So once Daoyu Wusheng bought a stall, he could simply transfer it to Shi Feng. That way, Shi Feng would have a stall in Star Moon City and could officially sell goods there.
Originally, Shi Feng had planned to grind reputation-boosting quests in Star Moon City himself, but reaching a hundred points of Star Moon City reputation was no easy feat and would take considerable time. Daoyu Wusheng's character was trustworthy, and earning thirty points was far faster than earning a hundred.
Daoyu Wusheng had been feeling embarrassed that he couldn't help Shi Feng with anything, but what Shi Feng said next left him stunned for a long moment.
"I know of several high-level quests that grant reputation. Once you complete them, you should be able to become a noble."
After saying this, Shi Feng told Daoyu Wusheng about those quests without the slightest reservation.
"That… that doesn't seem right…" Daoyu Wusheng was nearly speechless.
He had been the one offering to help Shi Feng, and somehow it had turned into Shi Feng helping him instead.
So many guilds in Star Moon City had exhausted every effort to find even a single reputation-boosting quest. Some had even offered enormous bounties with no results. Yet Shi Feng had just casually rattled off four high-level reputation quests, as though such quests were as common as cabbage at a market stall.
"What, is the difficulty too high to complete?" Shi Feng saw the troubled look on Daoyu Wusheng's face and suddenly realized. "I know of a few more that are considerably easier — they just don't give as much reputation. You'd need to do seven or eight of them to cover the thirty points."
"……" Daoyu Wusheng was completely flabbergasted.
He was half-tempted to suspect that Shi Feng was a GM, knowing so many Star Moon City reputation quests. But on second thought, that couldn't be right. The entire Divine Realm was controlled by the Main God System. No one could interfere with it, and quests were generated automatically by the system — no one could possibly know about them in advance.
There was, of course, one group that might be an exception: the enigmatic Closed Beta testers. But the Divine Realm had overhauled countless settings and quests after the Closed Beta ended, so it was virtually impossible for the old quests to still exist.
