When Summoner Tanchi Xiaoshu heard Shi Feng say that, his heart instantly tightened with nervousness. He didn't understand what Shi Feng wanted him to do. If he performed poorly and got kicked from the team by a top player like Shi Feng, he'd regret it to his dying breath.
These days, finding a decent team wasn't easy — let alone a team led by a top player. You couldn't even beg your way into one!
"Don't worry, I won't have you do anything dangerous. Just summon the Fire Elemental Sprite, then follow my commands. That's all you need to do." Shi Feng smiled, trying to put Tanchi Xiaoshu at ease.
These days, Summoners weren't particularly powerful, mainly because their skills were lacking. A Summoner's offense centered on summoning elemental creatures, and their basic attack was Magic Missile, which dealt very low damage. However, a Summoner with powerful skills could rival an entire army — especially one capable of summoning formidable elemental creatures. Slaying Elite monsters with them would be child's play.
"Don't worry, Captain. I'll definitely get it done!" Tanchi Xiaoshu declared loudly with a tone of reverence, like a student addressing a teacher.
"The rest of you, stay away from that rock as well. A twenty-yard distance at minimum, and be careful not to draw aggro from any other monsters." Shi Feng turned to address the others.
"Yes, Captain!"
The rest of the team answered in equally loud voices — a completely different attitude from before.
Shi Feng was mildly surprised by everyone's behavior. Why was every single one of them so well-behaved all of a sudden?
What Shi Feng didn't know was that his rock-throwing trick just now had left everyone stunned.
They were all in awe of Shi Feng's rock-throwing skill. That technique and accuracy were absolutely beyond what an ordinary person could achieve — even professional players probably couldn't match it.
Admiring the strong was a universal phenomenon in gaming, and these level-one rookies were no exception.
Everyone looked at Shi Feng differently now. If before they had thought of him as a decent shot-caller, now they revered him as a true powerhouse. A faint sense of awe stirred within their hearts.
Hei Zi, standing off to the side, slapped Jimo Ruxue on the shoulder and said smugly, "So, what do you think? Pretty nice hanging with Brother Feng, huh?"
Jimo Ruxue nodded silently, feeling grateful that following Shi Feng had been the right call. Shi Feng was definitely a Closed Beta veteran. That kind of skill required enormous experience and practice — only a Closed Beta tester could pull it off.
"Haha, so what are you planning to do going forward?" Hei Zi suddenly asked. He had already started eyeing Jimo Ruxue. Ke Le was a hundred percent joining them, but Jimo Ruxue hadn't shown any inclination either way yet, so Hei Zi wanted to recruit him into their studio — even though the studio itself was still little more than a pipe dream.
"Going forward?" Jimo Ruxue hadn't thought about it. He was just an ordinary player. He played games to make a little money and had no grand ambitions. He answered honestly, "I haven't really considered it."
"I think your skills are pretty solid. Why not stick with us for now?" Hei Zi said casually.
"Really?" Caught off guard by Hei Zi's question, Jimo Ruxue had also been worrying about what lay ahead, unsure of where to go. If he could team up with top players, that would be more than he could hope for.
"Of course. But it'll depend on your performance down the road — we don't just take in anyone, you know." Hei Zi put on an air of superiority, imitating the tone of a seasoned veteran.
"Thanks, Brother Hei!" Jimo Ruxue said happily. He hadn't expected his luck to be this good — catching the eye of a top player.
Seeing Jimo Ruxue agree, Hei Zi let out a sigh of relief. Right now, he was riding on Shi Feng's coattails. In the Divine Realm, he couldn't offer Shi Feng much in terms of combat, but he could help with management.
