Having one Dark Knight Gaia was bad enough, now there were two more.
Even Shi Feng felt powerless...
But three bosses weren't the most important thing — the real problem was that even a single boss was enough to crush everyone's hopes.
"This quest difficulty is way too high." Shi Feng rubbed his temples in frustration. He hadn't expected Wiseman's quest to be this insane.
If it were a normal Hell Difficulty Demon Castle, Shi Feng could have come up with a plan. But facing three bosses at once? There was absolutely no chance.
Dark Knight Gaia, High Lord tier, Level 16, 4 million HP.
Fallen Angel El, High Lord tier, Level 16, 3.6 million HP.
Fallen Angel Jera, High Lord tier, Level 16, 3.6 million HP.
The quest hadn't just increased the number of bosses — their stats had been boosted dramatically too. Four million HP was a terrifying amount; even if healers burned through all their mana, they'd never whittle that down.
Ke Le would probably get one-shot by Dark Knight Gaia's spear if he charged in.
"Guild Master, let's retreat. The system has to be bugged — four million HP? That's just bullying," Ke Le said after observing for a while, shaking his head and giving up.
"I agree. Maybe we should exit and reset the dungeon," Hei Zi nodded.
The others felt the same. Even for Hell Difficulty, this was too much.
"We've already come this far — let's at least give it a try. If the bosses are this strong, there has to be some special way to deal with them," Shi Feng said. He didn't think this was a system error. If the quest was designed this way, there had to be a reason. Might as well try and see what they could figure out.
Since Shi Feng said so, nobody argued. The worst that would happen was losing some EXP, and EXP was nothing to them.
So they followed the same approach as before — Ke Le and Tanchi Xiaoshu charged in first to test the bosses. Ke Le threw his shield and used Shield Taunt to draw aggro, but the moment the shield hit all three bosses, everyone froze.
-1, -1, -1...
Every single boss showed a flat one point of forced damage. Their absurd defense left everyone dumbfounded.
"You are courting death," Dark Knight Gaia rose slightly, not rushing to attack Ke Le. His crimson eyes narrowed as they locked onto him. His voice carried no anger, no arrogance — only coldness and deathly silence. It was devoid of emotion, like the voice of a machine.
Ke Le felt a chill run through his whole body. It was a game, sure, but that oppressive pressure was anything but fake.
The two Fallen Angels on either side didn't lift a finger either. They didn't even glance at Ke Le, as though he simply wasn't worth their attention.
"I don't believe it."
Ke Le steeled himself and cast Punishment on Dark Knight Gaia. The result was still a pathetic one-point hit that made everyone's stomachs churn.
But this time, Dark Knight Gaia moved. He casually drew a spear and thrust it at Ke Le from midair. The air crackled with a deafening boom, and a lance of light struck Ke Le square in the chest, dealing over twenty-nine hundred damage. With barely a few hundred HP left out of three thousand-plus, it nearly killed him.
Just as Dark Knight Gaia was about to follow up with a second strike, a beam of holy light descended from the sky and enveloped Ke Le.
When the razor-sharp lance of light collided with the holy radiance, it was like striking black iron — it couldn't push through even an inch.
"So there really is a trick to this," Shi Feng said with a slight smile as he looked up at the holy light descending from above. A figure emerged from within the radiance, and Shi Feng called out in team chat, "Everyone attack together! Healers, top Ke Le off first!"
They had only been testing the waters before, with no real expectations. But now that the opportunity had arrived, there was no way they were letting it go.
