After parting ways, Shi Feng immediately ducked into a deserted alley.
The reason he had offered the ultra-low price of two silver was to get Shusheng Tanxiao to contact his boss — and more importantly, to separate from him. Otherwise, his plan wouldn't work.
Once inside the alley, Shi Feng pulled out a Seven Luminaries Crystal from his inventory and quickly teleported back to White River City. He then rushed to the bank vault, withdrew several hundred stacks of Sturdy Stone along with some ore, and used the crystal again to return to Black Wing City.
After that, Shi Feng found another dim alley, carefully surveyed his surroundings, and activated full perception. Confirming that no one was following him, he transformed into a new appearance. This time he became a white-haired old man, draping himself in a black cloak. His name now displayed as "Carlos," with everything else showing as "Unknown."
"This should do." Shi Feng examined his disguise. Both his bearing and appearance radiated mystery, and he emanated an aura so overwhelming it would be impossible to mistake him for a player.
Satisfied that his appearance posed no problems, Shi Feng made his way to a busier street.
After spotting a Guardian Knight with decent equipment, Shi Feng walked straight toward him. As he passed the knight, he "accidentally" bumped into the man, sending him tumbling to the ground on his back.
The Guardian Knight was furious and ready to unleash a few insults, but when he saw the intimidating old man before him — one whose imposing aura made him shudder — his observation skill revealed the old man's name as Carlos, with everything else listed as Unknown.
In the Divine Realm, displaying as "Unknown" generally meant one of two things: either the person had used a special item to conceal their information, or the gap in level was so vast that ordinary observation skills couldn't determine anything.
This old man was clearly not a player but an NPC. The knight concluded that this Carlos must be extremely powerful. He swallowed every word he had been about to shout, terrified of provoking the mysterious NPC's hostility and losing his life on the spot.
"Young man, are you all right?" Shi Feng looked down at him with an imposing air.
"I'm fine. I'm fine," the Guardian Knight said quickly.
"Good. But I bumped into you — that was my fault. As compensation, you can come buy items from me in the future. I'll give you a discount." With that, Shi Feng walked toward an alley around the corner.
"Could this be my lucky break?" The Guardian Knight reacted quickly and immediately followed Shi Feng into the alley.
Shi Feng's attire was mysterious, his aura overwhelmingly powerful, and he had just knocked down a player — naturally drawing the attention of quite a few players on the street. Though Shi Feng hadn't spoken loudly, many nearby players had caught what he said.
The Divine Realm was full of hidden encounters, and this was Black Wing City, of all places. It was entirely possible to purchase rare items from a hidden NPC — nothing unusual about that at all.
