The Martial Alliance elites, who had originally looked down on Shi Feng, were now utterly on edge.
They all understood clearly what a full-health Shi Feng meant.
Compared to simply losing a level upon death, the current situation was far more dire. They had been grinding monsters nonstop, and the durability of their equipment and weapons was already low. Now, taking hits from Shi Feng would drain what remained of their durability—or even destroy the gear outright. That was far more terrifying than a single level penalty.
A lost level could be grinded back, but the weapons and equipment on their bodies were different. These were items they had painstakingly accumulated over a long period of time. Getting a fresh set would be far more trouble than regaining a level, and there was no guarantee they could even manage it.
"Night Edge, don't push your luck. Continuing like this won't benefit anyone. Leave now while you still can, and from now on we'll stay out of each other's way." Fengyun Wuhui was deeply reluctant, but Shi Feng's strength was too terrifying—he had no choice but to swallow his pride and take a step back.
If he truly lost everything he had built up, his rise within the Martial Alliance would be finished.
"Push my luck? Is that your last words?" Shi Feng laughed in disbelief.
He genuinely couldn't fathom Fengyun Wuhui's thinking. Did the man really think he could slap someone across the face, realize he was outmatched, and then just say "sorry" to make it all go away?
Hearing Shi Feng's contemptuous tone, Fengyun Wuhui felt a surge of humiliation for the first time. He had already conceded, yet Shi Feng was still pressing harder—and he could do nothing about it. All he could do was watch helplessly as his subordinates were cut down one by one. The feeling was enough to drive him mad.
Fengyun Wuhui had never imagined he would see a day like this.
He had originally been one hundred percent certain he could kill Shi Feng. Now, because of a mysterious explosive and a mid-tier recovery potion, those odds had plummeted to fifty percent. And even if he managed to take Shi Feng down, the Martial Alliance elites would suffer devastating losses.
"Night Edge, you forced my hand! Let's see who dies first!"
"Everyone, rush him together! He's got a super-red name now—as long as we kill him, all his equipment will drop. That'll be more than enough to cover our losses! Don't be afraid—his health potion cooldown has to be long. We can whittle him down!"
At Fengyun Wuhui's command, the Martial Alliance members went berserk, unleashing every skill and trick they had to restrain Shi Feng while chipping away at his health.
Fengyun Wuhui himself gritted his teeth and pulled out a fiery-red arrow, taking aim and loosing it straight at Shi Feng.
This was his most powerful treasure—something he had originally planned to use against a Lord-tier boss. Now he had no choice but to spend it on Shi Feng.
With a sharp whistle, the fiery-red arrow pierced through the air, crackling with explosive force as it rocketed toward Shi Feng's chest.
Intricate runes were carved along the arrow's shaft, drawing in a massive concentration of fire elements around it. It was clearly some kind of consumable item.
Shi Feng spotted the incoming arrow immediately. Ignoring every other magical attack raining down on him, he swung his blade up in a parry, intercepting the fiery-red arrow head-on.
Boom, boom, boom…
The moment it made contact, the arrow exploded. Shi Feng was sent hurtling backward, but thanks to the parry, he took no damage at all.
Watching Shi Feng land safely and immediately charge back into the spell-casters, cutting them down one after another—each swing felling a foe as easily as swatting flies, dropping three or four in mere moments—Fengyun Wuhui nearly bulged his eyes out of his head.
His ultimate trump card had been spent, and it hadn't so much as scratched a single hair on Shi Feng. Worse, the explosive force had actually helped Shi Feng close the distance to the back line, giving him a fresh wave of victims to slaughter.
