Never mind the terrifying HP — the massive war axe strapped to the creature's back alone was enough to make his blood run cold. One swing from that thing and he'd be turned into nothing but paste.
"I don't know." Stone Peak shook his head. Plans never survived contact with reality. The entire mine offered no terrain they could exploit. If they wanted to kill the Kobold, it would have to be a straight-up fight.
The Kobold Leader was, as far as he knew, the strongest monster he'd encountered at this stage.
If he'd had enough time — level 5, wearing a full set of bronze gear — then he'd have had an eighty percent shot at taking down the Kobold Leader. But the time Master Forger Jack had given him was nearly up. To finish the fight within twenty minutes, he'd need to field a level-5 elite party.
And they only had two people, with terrible equipment. Taking out the Kobold within twenty minutes was flat-out impossible.
But failing the quest would have serious consequences. This hidden quest could only be attempted once — if he failed, he'd never get another chance.
And yet, abandoning the quest was something Stone Peak simply couldn't stomach.
"I'll just have to go all in." Reluctantly, he pulled out the demonic weapon, Abyss.
In his previous life, Stone Peak had personally witnessed only a handful of demonic weapons. Anyone who'd seen the power of a demonic weapon was awed by it, and those who could actually wield one were as rare as phoenix feathers and dragon scales.
The Blood War God had made his name in a guild war involving over a hundred thousand players, forging the magnificent War God Empire. Wielding the blood-colored demonic weapon, the Red Ghost Giant Axe, he'd charged into a corps of thousands of warriors and slaughtered his way through without a single person able to block his axe. When he checked Abyss's stats, his jaw nearly hit the floor.

Skill 1 — Phantom Strike: Instantly create a clone that you can control. The clone possesses 50% of your attributes and all your skills. The original and the clone can swap positions. Duration: 30 seconds. Cooldown: 5 minutes.
Skill 2 — Abyssal Bind: Restrict an enemy, preventing all movement. Target's defense is simultaneously reduced by 100%. Duration: 3 seconds. Cooldown: 1 minute.
Skill 3 — Nine-Headed Dragon Slash: Instantly conjure nine phantom copies of Abyss for the wielder's use. Each phantom blade deals 30% damage. Duration: 20 seconds. Cooldown: 5 minutes.
Abyss was a legendary blade forged by the master craftsman Olyxes from the fangs of the Black Dragon King. It was one of the Divine Realm's Thirty-Six Legendary Blades, ranked thirty-first. However, the sword bore the Black Dragon King's curse — beyond granting its wielder incredible power, it would periodically unleash backlash. If the wielder failed to suppress the backlash, they would suffer the Black Dragon King's curse: a permanent 50% reduction to all attributes, and the weapon could not be dropped or traded.
Seeing these stats and all these extra skills — it was practically a divine weapon. But there were thirty-five more legendary blades out there, and Abyss ranked near the very bottom. He could hardly imagine what the number-one blade would be like.
"Peak, stop scaring me — you dropped to level zero?!" Blackie stared at Stone Peak in shock. Fighting the Kobold Leader was already going to be hard enough, and now Stone Peak had dropped to level zero? How were they supposed to fight now?
