Shi Feng landed silently, still twenty yards away from Wei Wo Du Kuang.
Wave after wave of holy light healing fell upon Wei Wo Du Kuang.
Wei Wo Du Kuang was one of the top ten players on White River City's honor leaderboard, one of the city's premier main tanks. Though only level 21, his HP exceeded 3,700 — not far behind Ke Le. For ordinary physical damage classes like Assassins, Berserkers, Swordsmen, and Rangers, bringing down Wei Wo Du Kuang with his massive HP pool and high defense was an exhausting task — to say nothing of the large group of healers supporting him from behind.
Moreover, standing guard before Wei Wo Du Kuang was another top expert: Ming Sha.
You Lan was baffled by Shi Feng's reckless charge.
"Let me have a go at you!"
Ming Sha watched Shi Feng hurtling toward him and simultaneously swung the Bone-Smashing Greatsword. The greatsword was enormous, yet Ming Sha wielded it with precision, one strike sealing off Shi Feng's path forward.
At the same time, the surrounding Dark Star melee members rushed toward Shi Feng, determined to hack him to pieces.
Meanwhile, the ranged casters in the distance — Elementalist, Warlocks, Summoners — all began their incantations. The moment Shi Feng was held up by Ming Sha for even a brief instant, he would face a bombardment of hundreds of spells. Even a Guardian Knight like Ke Le would be killed instantly, let alone a Swordsman like Shi Feng.
But Shi Feng showed no sign of slowing, charging straight ahead without the slightest hesitation.
Just as Ming Sha closed in and the greatsword was about to strike — At the very last instant, Shi Feng vanished completely. Ming Sha's Bone-Smashing Greatsword cut through empty air, stirring up a violent gust of wind.
Every Elementalist, Warlock, and Summoner in the distance who had been targeting Shi Feng lost their lock simultaneously. Their incantations were interrupted.
"Where did he go?"
Ming Sha found no trace of Shi Feng before him and scanned his surroundings. Then a chill crept up from behind him. He spun around — Shi Feng had already appeared behind Wei Wo Du Kuang, silent as a ghost. If not for Ming Sha's sharp instincts, he never would have noticed.
Shi Feng had used Silent Step to reach Wei Wo Du Kuang's back. He immediately activated Absolute Time — within a fifty-yard radius centered on himself, no one could use skills or items — and swung Abyssal, unleashing Abyssal Bind.
Wei Wo Du Kuang felt only a blast of cold wind at his back. By the time he registered Shi Feng swinging Abyssal, he realized someone was behind him. He tried to leap forward to dodge, and for good measure, attempted to activate Protection Blessing.
But Shi Feng was too fast. Absolute Time and Abyssal Bind activated almost simultaneously. Wei Wo Du Kuang's Protection Blessing simply would not trigger, panic seizing his heart. In the next moment, nine pitch-black chains lashed out, binding him completely — he couldn't move a muscle.
The healers in the distance could do nothing but offer spiritual support to Wei Wo Du Kuang.
"Damn it."
Seeing that only Shi Feng stood by Wei Wo Du Kuang's side, Ming Sha realized he had been tricked — he had been lured away from Wei Wo Du Kuang. A humiliated fury surged through him, the feeling of being toyed with. It was the first time in his life anyone had managed it.
Now Wei Wo Du Kuang was unprotected, immobilized, and utterly unable to fight back. Had Ming Sha been at his side, even if Wei Wo Du Kuang were controlled, he could have shielded him. But now they were separated by a dozen yards.
In normal circumstances, his carefully reserved Charge skill could have closed the gap. But with skills suddenly locked down, there was nothing he could do — he could only watch helplessly.
Still, a dozen yards was only a one- or two-second sprint. As long as Ke Le could hold for a moment or two, Ming Sha was confident he could reach Shi Feng and prevent him from harming Wei Wo Du Kuang any further.
Wei Wo Du Kuang had considered this as well. Facing the Abyssal and the Shadow of Purgatory in Shi Feng's hands, he still wore an expression that said, "What can you possibly do to me?"
He was a Guardian Knight with 3,700 HP. Taking him down in one or two seconds — impossible.
But reality ruthlessly slapped Wei Wo Du Kuang across the face.
Shi Feng delivered a single slash. Against Wei Wo Du Kuang, whose defense had dropped by 100%, it dealt over fifteen hundred points of damage.
That one strike stripped away every shred of Wei Wo Du Kuang's confidence, filling him with fear. He tried desperately to break free of Abyssal Bind, but no matter how he struggled, the icy chains didn't budge.
For the first time in his life, Wei Wo Du Kuang felt utterly powerless. With over a thousand subordinates at his side and a top-tier expert guarding him, he had still been treated as nothing by Shi Feng — hacked at freely, without even the ability to resist.
