My belly was full.

Whether I'd been that hungry or needed to recover from damage, the frog — which had been about my size — fit entirely inside my stomach.

Physically impossible?

Ha ha ha.

What are you even saying in a world where things like Skills exist?

Besides, it's not exactly impossible.

After all, my body is swollen up like a balloon.

Phew — if I had a human body, I'd have to worry about dieting.

Well, in my previous life, my body was the type that never gained weight no matter how messy my eating habits were, so I never had to diet or anything.

Anyway, I need to repair the parts of the web that the frog destroyed when it got caught.

Ugh, my belly is heavy and sticking out, making it hard to work…

I struggled with it, but managed to finish the repairs.

Thank goodness no other Monsters came by while I was fixing it.

Come to think of it, wasn't it dangerous not just during the repairs, but while I was eating the frog too?

There was a very real possibility that other Monsters would be drawn by the smell.

I haven't seen any in this narrow passage, but in the grand corridor, there were six-legged wolves.

Those things looked like they had a good sense of smell, so it could've been bad.

From now on, I'll eat my prey only after I've returned to My Home.

Ahh — food and shelter, two out of three necessities of life are taken care of.

Clothing?

You want a spider to wear clothes?

Ha!

I don't feel the slightest need.

This cave is at a comfortable temperature — never too cold, never too hot — and my body is covered in short hairs to begin with.

There's no point in wearing clothes, and more importantly, I don't have any clothes to wear.

I could probably make some if I used silk, but I don't want to go to that much trouble.

Even if I made them, I don't know if I could even wear them.

Thinking about it that way, clothing is sort of taken care of too, isn't it?

Whoa — if that's the case, then I've obtained all three necessities of life without working for any of them.

Well, okay, I did build a nest, and I had to put in quite a bit of effort to take down the frog, so saying "without working" is a bit of an overstatement.

But barring some extraordinary circumstance, you could say I'm now set up for the dream life of eating and sleeping in.

If there are any problems, it's that there might be some powerhouse strong enough to break through my web, and that prey might be hard to come by, leaving me to starve.

If some monster does manage to breach my web, I'll run without hesitation.

Other than that, if prey keeps getting caught in my web regularly, I've got nothing to complain about.

As long as that keeps up, there's nothing stopping me from holing up here for the rest of my life.

Wonderful!

I did go to school in my past life, but I practically lived like a shut-in.

I'd go to school, spend the whole day without talking to anyone, and once I got home, I'd just surf the internet or play games nonstop.

For meals, I'd either pour hot water over something and wait three minutes, or throw it in the microwave.

Occasionally, a convenience store bento would mix in.

Both my parents were working, so they'd come home late.

Even when they were home, we almost never saw each other's faces and barely spoke.

Housework was the same — each of us only did the bare minimum.

Honestly, we were strangers who happened to live under the same roof.

Maybe because of that lifestyle, I found interacting with other people to be a hassle.

Well, it might not have been the lifestyle so much as just my personality from birth.

So I never had friends, and even when chatting in online games, I hardly ever spoke.

Because of that, my character in online games had a reputation for being the strong, silent type.

My avatar was a stern-looking bald old man.

A nice guy who didn't waste words and let his back do the talking.

My Status was a joke build cranked to the extreme — I maxed out physical attack power and speed while leaving everything else completely untouched.

As long as I don't get hit, it doesn't matter! I'd dodge everything and defeat enemies with hit-and-run tactics.

Of course, if I did get hit, I'd be dead!

Hmm.

I don't really care that I can't see my parents or schoolmates anymore, but I do feel a little sad that I'll never see that bald old man again.

Among free-to-play players, I'd climbed all the way up to being one of the few powerful players who could compete with the paying crowd, so having to abandon the game halfway through still stings.

That my attachment to a game character is stronger than to my own parents really shows how much of a failure as a human being I was.

But it's the truth.

I wonder if my parents were even a little sad when I died?

Hmm.

Whatever.

They probably wouldn't have been that sad in the opposite situation either.

They'd maybe worry a little about money.

Some people might get angry if you said things like this to them, but so what?

It's not like I was causing anyone trouble, so why shouldn't I think however I want?

A burden on my parents?

Unfortunately, I'd been doing a little stock investing under my parents' names, depositing a decent amount of money into their accounts every month.

Once you get the hang of stocks and invest conservatively, you can actually earn a pretty good amount.

So I wasn't leeching off my parents.

I wasn't causing anyone any trouble, so nobody had any right to tell me otherwise.

Well, none of that matters anymore anyway.

So let me declare it proudly.

Shut-in life is the best!

※Note: Do not imitate this.

This is just the outlandish thinking of a fictional character.

I've included a detailed warning in my activity report.
