When I passed through the door, a vast hall spread out before me.
A red carpet extended in a straight line from the entrance, leading to a pedestal—and behind it, a man stood waiting.
Along the walls, a great number of people quietly watched our approach.
Everyone present here was connected to the upper nobility.
With the dignified gait we'd been coached on for this very day.
The gazes of the nobles felt like they were boring into us, but I tried my best not to dwell on it.
Eventually, we arrived before the pedestal.
There, Sue and I stopped and knelt.
We faced the man behind the pedestal—King Meijes Delua Analeit, the reigning monarch and our father.
"We shall now commence the Appraisal ceremony."
The king's voice, rich with authority, echoed throughout the hall.
Even though he was my father, I'd only met this man a handful of times.
Perhaps because of that, he felt less like a close relative and more like some important distant relation.
That only made the tension worse.
The king was still speaking, but his words barely registered in my head.
"Shurein Zagan Analeit. Rise."
"Yes."
I stood in response to the king's call.
"Begin the Appraisal."
I took a few steps forward and climbed onto the small stepping stool placed before the pedestal.
Without it, I wouldn't have been tall enough to reach the pedestal at my current height.
Embedded in the top of the pedestal was a black stone.
That stone was the Appraisal Stone—though it was smaller than I'd expected.
It was roughly the size an adult could hold in the palm of their hand.
Surprised but undeterred, I placed my hand on the Appraisal Stone.
Just as I'd been briefed beforehand, I focused my thoughts on the word "Appraisal."
It worked without much difficulty, and my Status was displayed.
『Human race, Lv. 1. Name: Shurein Zagan Analeit Status HP: 35/35 (green) MP: 348/348 (blue) SP: 35/35 (yellow) Stamina: 35/35 (red) Average Attack Ability: 20 (Details) Average Defense Ability: 20 (Details) Average Magic Ability: 314 (Details) Average Resistance Ability: 299 (Details) Average Speed Ability: 20 (Details) Skills "Magic Power Perception Lv.8" "Magic Power Operation Lv.8" "Magic Combat Arts Lv.6" "Magic Power Enchantment Lv.5" "Magic Power Strike Lv.3" "MP Recovery Speed Lv.7" "MP Consumption Reduction Lv.2" "Sword Talent Lv.3" "Destruction Enhancement Lv.2" "Ki Combat Arts Lv.2" "Ki Power Enchantment Lv.1" "Concentration Lv.5" "Accuracy Lv.1" "Evasion Lv.1" "Vision Enhancement Lv.4" "Hearing Enhancement Lv.7" "Smell Enhancement Lv.2" "Taste Enhancement Lv.1" "Touch Enhancement Lv.1" "Life Lv.5" "Magic Power Lv.8" "Burst Lv.5" "Endurance Lv.5" "Strength Lv.5" "Durability Lv.5" "Mage Lv.8" "Guardian Lv.7" "Dash Lv.5" "Divine Blessing" "n%I=W"

My Status was visible.
At the same time, the Appraisal results that I could see were displayed on a screen-like device mounted on the far wall.
This screen was connected to the Appraisal Stone, allowing the results to be projected on a large display for everyone to see.
Apparently, the concept of personal information doesn't exist in this world.
A murmur rippled through the crowd.
The king tried to quiet them, but the clamor wouldn't die down.
My Status must have been truly extraordinary.
To me, though, the results were more or less what I'd expected.
My magic-related ability values were remarkably high.
Ana had already vouched for that.
Compared to that, my physical abilities were only age-appropriate.
Well, apparently they were quite high compared to others my age, but they weren't off the charts like my magic stats.
That's why my Status ended up so lopsided.
As for my Skills, the voice known as the Divine Word had told me about each one every time I leveled up or acquired a new one, so I was already familiar with most of them.
There were two Skills I didn't know about, though.
Divine Blessing, and the last one—that garbled, unintelligible Skill with the mangled text.
I was curious about those two, so I used Appraisal on them.
『Divine Blessing: Protected by the Divine Blessing. In all situations, it becomes easier to obtain desired outcomes.』
『n%I=W: Appraisal not possible.』
What on earth is this?
Divine Blessing is incredible.
It's truly a Skill you could call a cheat.
Still, it only said it makes outcomes "easier to obtain," so it didn't necessarily mean things would always go my way.
It's an amazing Skill, but overconfidence would be foolish.
The other one—the unintelligible one—was a bigger mystery.
Both its name and its Appraisal result were gibberish.
I had no idea what kind of Skill it was supposed to be.
If even the finest Appraisal Stone gave this result, then it was probably impossible to determine the details of this Skill.
It truly made no sense.
"Is that the same as the Duke's daughter?"
"Yes, that genius."
"But His Highness has the same—or no, greater talent than the Duke's daughter…"
I could hear the words "Duke's daughter" scattered through the murmuring of the nobles.
Could there really be someone else with Status values as high as mine?
I couldn't imagine anyone other than Sue having something like that…
"Silence!"
At the king's thunderous shout, the hall finally fell quiet.
The king handed me a sheet of paper.
This paper had been printed by a magical device that copied the Appraisal results transmitted from the Appraisal Stone and recorded them through a printing enchantment.
I accepted it respectfully.
Then, with a bow, I stepped back.
That concluded my Appraisal ceremony.
Next was Sue's turn.
Unsurprisingly, the hall buzzed once more when Sue produced results nearly identical to mine.
However, unlike me, Sue had neither Divine Blessing nor the mysterious garbled Skill.
