《Proficiency has reached a certain threshold. Skill『Vision Enhancement LV9』has become『Vision Enhancement LV10』》 《Conditions met. Skill『Vision Enhancement LV10』has derived a new skill:『Far Sight LV1』》 Yes!

Finally, the Vision Enhancement skill level has hit the cap.

So the capstone reward for maxing out Vision Enhancement is a derived skill.

Let me Appraise it right away to check its effects.

『Far Sight: Allows the user to magnify and view distant scenery』

Ah, the description says exactly what it does.

Hmm.

Eh.

Meh.

The sensory enhancement line is quietly useful, but the skills it derives are pretty underwhelming too.

Well, let me give it a shot anyway.

Alright then, Body Duty—activate Far Sight!

Request acknowledged. Far Sight activated!

Hm?

Oh?

Ohh!?

Wow, this is actually incredible.

Sorry for calling it underwhelming.

Two images are unfolding simultaneously in my field of vision—the magnified view from Far Sight, and my normal original view.

I was imagining it would make everything look like peering through a telescope, but it seems like I can activate it with just one eye.

Normally, dealing with two completely different sets of visual information at once would be confusing, but hey—I'm basically two people, right?

Split the work between us, and there's zero confusion.

Right now the magnification ratio and range are both limited because the skill level is low, but it should get pretty useful as it goes up.

For instance, I could use Detection to locate where an enemy is hiding, then focus Far Sight on that spot while keeping my normal vision intact.

Mhm, mhm.

This one seems to be a Passive Skill too—no MP consumption or anything like that.

Seems like it has a lot of potential uses. I'll keep Far Sight running all the time to level it up as well.

Sorry to interrupt when things are heating up, but Information Duty— What is it, Body Duty?

I spotted prey through Far Sight.

Oh, already earning its keep? What a good skill.

Want to take it out real quick?

Goes without saying, right?

Here we go~ And so, I creep silently toward the target.

The scythe is still broken from the self-destruct on that Corrosion Attack last time, so I'll use Poison Synthesis to douse it with Spider Venom.

The Monster's HP vanished in an instant.

Terrifying power, as always.

《Experience Points have reached a certain threshold. Individual Zoa-Ele has leveled up from LV2 to LV3》 《Various base stat values have increased》 《Skill Proficiency level-up bonus acquired》 《Proficiency has reached a certain threshold. Skill『Visual Range Expansion LV2』has become『Visual Range Expansion LV3』》 《Proficiency has reached a certain threshold. Skill『Life LV9』has become『Life LV10』》 《Conditions met. Skill『Life LV10』has evolved into『Vitality LV1』》 《Skill Points acquired》 Oh, leveled up just in time.

Molted and the scythe is back to normal too.

And one of my status-boosting skills has finally evolved!

Let me Appraise it.

『Vitality: Adds a flat HP bonus equal to Skill Level × 10. Additionally, grants a growth bonus equal to the Skill Level upon leveling up』

As expected, it's the same type as Brute Force.

So that means if the remaining status-enhancement skills evolve too, they'll also grant growth bonuses?

I'd like to level them up sooner rather than later, but I'll have to be patient until I get out of the Middle Layer.

I really want to get to a safe place.

And now—the moment you've been waiting for!

With the level-up, I've got 100 Skill Points! Yeah~!

So, have those rumored Evil Eye-type skills finally been added to the list?

『Curse Evil Eye (100): Deals curse-attribute damage to anything within the field of vision』

『Annihilation Evil Eye (100): Deals corrosion-attribute damage to anything within the field of vision』

『Paralysis Evil Eye (100): Deals paralysis-attribute damage to anything within the field of vision』

『Petrification Evil Eye (100): Deals petrification-attribute damage to anything within the field of vision』

『Discomfort Evil Eye (100): Inflicts the heretical attribute「Discomfort」effect on anything within the field of vision』

『Phantom Pain Evil Eye (100): Inflicts the heretical attribute「Phantom Pain」effect on anything within the field of vision』

『Madness Evil Eye (100): Inflicts the heretical attribute「Madness」effect on anything within the field of vision』

『Charm Evil Eye (100): Inflicts the heretical attribute「Charm」effect on anything within the field of vision』

『Hypnosis Evil Eye (100): Inflicts the heretical attribute「Hypnosis」effect on anything within the field of vision』

『Fear Evil Eye (100): Inflicts the heretical attribute「Fear」effect on anything within the field of vision』

Wow.

They're actually here.

These skills weren't on the list before, were they?

There are so many of them too.

I have to pick just one from this bunch?

Tough choice.

Hey, Information Duty— What's up, Body Duty?

Why not just grab more than one?

Huh? What do you mean?

Did you know? I've got eight eyes, you know.

So what?

That means I could activate up to eight Evil Eyes at once, right?

!? Are you a genius!?

Heh heh heh. That's right—I happen to be a genius.

Seriously? I'm a genius! When you're a genius, you can do whatever you want, right?

Exactly. Eight simultaneous Evil Eyes—doesn't that sound amazing?

That's insane. That's seriously insane. The possibilities are endless~ I'm using one for Far Sight, though, so that leaves seven.

You also need to keep your normal vision open, so realistically six.

Right. How about this—I pick one Evil Eye now, and once I've saved up another five Skill Points, I grab the rest?

Sure, sure. So which Evil Eye does Body Duty think is best?

I'd say either Curse or Petrification—ones with attributes I don't have yet. The heretical ones feel more suited to fighting other people than Monsters.

Yeah, I was leaning toward Curse myself. I've had experience with Petrification back when I fought that petrifying lizard in the Upper Layer, but it takes time before the effect kicks in.

The payoff is huge when it does work, though. I think Curse is the safer pick.

As expected of me. Good call, right?

Right?

And so, I'll take the Curse Evil Eye.

『Curse: Weakens various stats and inflicts damage on HP, MP, and SP』
