Boruger was a high-rank Wizard who enjoyed both a comfortable life and a prestigious status across the entire Danbres Kingdom. The reason he had followed Marquis Lewis to explore the outer seas was because the latter had promised to build him a Wizard Tower!
A Wizard Tower! Only within a Wizard Tower could high-rank Wizards conduct deeper research into other planes and advance their Wizard rank.
In fact, a high-rank Wizard protected by a Wizard Tower and a wandering Wizard with nothing at all were worlds apart.
Of course, with so many benefits came a terrifyingly high price. Even at the lowest specifications, a Wizard Tower would cost no less than two million gold coins.
Lin Lei was certain that Marquis Lewis had poured nearly half of his trade profits into this Wizard Tower still under construction.
For him, this was equally a godsend. If he could seize all of these materials wholesale, building his own Wizard Tower in the future would be much easier.
The blueprints and construction plans exclusive to Wizard Towers had already been found in Boruger's dimensional bag, but the raw materials were equally precious — all shipped thousands of miles from distant continents at enormous expense by Marquis Lewis in both money and manpower.
Following the map Dim had provided earlier, Lin Lei led his men directly to the site where Boruger had planned to construct the Wizard Tower.
By now, several camps had already been set up here, and there was even a rudimentary foundation for the Wizard Tower.
"If they had actually managed to complete that Wizard Tower, we would never have been able to break through the port's defenses today — complete annihilation would have been entirely possible!"
Looking at the project that had only just begun, Lin Lei said to the people beside him, a lingering sense of unease in his voice.
However, the camp had already descended into utter chaos — corpses lay scattered across the ground in every direction, and bloodshot-eyed pirates were storming from room to room everywhere.
"Stop them!"
Lin Lei waved his hand. He felt not the slightest pity for these rabid, undisciplined pirate scum.
Robin led a group forward and began slaughtering wildly. After several roaring pirates were cut down, heads separated from bodies, the survivors finally came to their senses.
"Drop what you've stolen and leave — or die here!"
Lin Lei spoke calmly, yet at this moment, in the eyes of these pirates, he was as terrifying as a demon god.
Under the threat of death, most of the pirates meekly dropped what they were carrying and charged toward the port.
There was plenty of wealth to be had over there — throwing away one's life here simply wasn't worth it.
But a small fraction of the pirates had already gone mad with greed and would never relinquish the treasures in their hands. For these obstinate souls, Lin Lei merely waved his hand, and Robin immediately led his men to pounce on them…
"Open the storehouses!"
After the camp was completely cleared out, Robin seized a man who appeared to be some kind of steward and, with a blood-soaked blade, forced him to open each and every storehouse.
In an instant, a dazzling array of multicolored light flooded Lin Lei's men's eyes.
"Diamond, ironwood, construct cores, and so much Wizard alloy… Excellent, excellent — none of these can be found in the outer seas, and all are essential resources for building a Wizard Tower…"
Not only that, after breaking through a hidden magical mechanism, Lin Lei even found a small warehouse storing massive quantities of mithril and gold essence!
Both of these metals had excellent compatibility with magic, and were rare materials essential to crafting many magical items.
"These… are probably just a portion!"
A look of awe flickered through Lin Lei's eyes. "Slave trading truly is the most profitable business!"
Of course, this was also because his family hadn't been in the sugar trade and fish floss business for very long — otherwise, they could have accumulated unimaginable wealth as well.
"Organize your men and move all of this onto the Crimson Tiger. Post dedicated guards!"
Lin Lei summoned Robinhan and issued his orders directly.
Afterward, he brought Isabelle and the others to the besieged Marquis's estate.
Ronald was leading a fierce assault at that moment, but the defenders inside resisted stubbornly. Marquis Louis's decades of accumulated wealth were not so easily destroyed — even though most of his forces had already been wiped out at sea, loyal retainers still appeared to make their stand.
However, all of this futile resistance turned to smoke the moment Lin Lei arrived.
A mere handful of fireballs blew the estate's main gates wide open, revealing a magnificent complex of opulent buildings behind them.
Isabelle charged forward like a Valkyrie, her dark enchanted longsword drinking deeply of hot blood — toward the enemies who had destroyed her family, Isabelle showed not a shred of mercy.
"Ronald, tell those pirates that the entire estate and the other important warehouses belong to us. Anyone who dares to covet them gets killed on the spot!"
Lin Lei called Ronald over and issued a cold command.
He was no soft-hearted saint. He had summoned all those bottom-rubbing pirates solely to bolster his presence — letting them run wild and loot freely was already showing great mercy. How could he possibly hand over the lion's share of the profits to them?
