"A legend? What legend?"
Carol wiped the blood from the corner of her lips. Her true spirit had already been damaged by the Dream Curse, and her combat strength was clearly not at its peak.
"I only heard about it from the Throne. Comoro Giant Snake warlocks carry the bloodline of the Mother of Ten Thousand Snakes. Among them, there's a very slim chance that a rank-five Emperor can appear!"
The leader's voice was extremely somber—Carol and Eugene could even detect a hint of trembling hidden within it. "When the Comoro Snake Emperor appears, the entire Comoro clan will unite under its banner, creating a glorious era for bloodline warlocks..."
"Something that's obviously prophetic—who would believe that?"
Eugene scoffed contemptuously.
"If it were just a prophecy, then naturally no one would believe it. But what if the one who made the prophecy was Grand Astrologer Deric—and he perished because of it?"
The leader glanced at Eugene.
"Deric? You mean that Radiant Moon Wizard—the one they called the most likely to advance to the Scorching Sun through divination magic?" Carol gasped, her gaze toward the direction Leylin was approaching filled with dread.
"That's why, while our organization has been suppressing the bloodline warlocks, we've also been keeping a close watch on the Ouroboros Ring. If not for our fear that the turmoil of fate would force them underground, the Ouroboros Ring would have been eradicated by us long ago..."
The warlock slowly revealed this closely guarded secret.
"Then... their hope for this bloodline—is it Leylin?" Carol's expression grew grave.
"Yes! No matter the cost, we must ensure that Leylin perishes here today!"
The several Radiant Moon Wizards communicated through their spiritual power, reaching their decision in an instant. It was at that very moment that the black giant serpent launched its assault.
A blood-red crescent of energy shot forth from the belly of the phantom serpent, aimed directly at Carol.
"It's a high-tier magic artifact attack!"
The faces of the Radiant Moon Wizards changed in rapid succession. Carol retreated swiftly, her innate defensive magic flaring to life. One by one, items radiating fluctuations at the mid-tier magic artifact level detonated from her body, clashing against the blood-red energy blade.
After three mid-tier magic artifacts detonated in succession, the blood-red energy blade finally began to dissipate, revealing Carol's deathly pale figure behind it.
"So it was you who plotted against me?"
The phantom serpent coiled and swirled. A warlock with an otherworldly, strikingly handsome face stared coldly at the three wizards.
A mere sweep of his gaze made the three Radiant Moon Wizards' scalps tingle, as if they were being watched by some incomprehensibly terrifying creature.
He possessed an extraordinarily handsome face. Though Carol had seen his records and images countless times, she still had to admit that this high-level warlock named Leylin was indeed enough to drive any witch mad.
The spiritual allure he unconsciously radiated was already remarkably similar to a high-level illusion attack.
"Who are you?" Leylin looked at the three wizards before him, his mind stirring slowly.
His greatest enemy on the Central Continent was Jupiter's Thunder, which only had one Radiant Moon Wizard, Jethia — yet each of the three wizards opposite him was no weaker than Jethia, and Leylin had no idea who they were.
"Could this be the forces of the Sky Throne? Or some other shadowy hand that fears my growth?"
Leylin's mind raced. At that moment, the Chip transmitted its detected information to Leylin.
"Two at the peak of the Crescent Moon, and one full-moon Radiant Moon Wizard! If this were the old me, even with the Bloodline Sorcery of the Radiant Sun Annihilation, I probably still wouldn't have been able to kill them outright…"
These three Radiant Moon Wizards had clearly come to eliminate him, and that thought immediately set every alarm bell ringing in Leylin's heart.
"Who exactly are you?"
He spoke slowly, while the Chip meticulously scanned the aura and fluctuations emanating from them. There were only so many Radiant Moon Wizards on the entire Central Continent — he could cross-reference each of them later and eventually uncover their identities.
For now, Leylin simply needed to vent his fury.
It had to be said that their dream curse had thoroughly provoked him.
"Leilin Farell! To break through the bloodline limits of the Coraming Giant Serpent and ascend to the fifth rank — you truly are the most powerful bloodline genius I have ever encountered. But no matter how extraordinary your talent, you will inevitably perish here today!"
The lead wizard stared at Leylin, a flicker of wariness crossing his eyes before instantly hardening into resolve.
"Radiant Moon Wizard Array! Three Spirits Unite!"
A resplendent full-moon phantom materialized behind the leader. The soul power of the full-moon level, brimming with piercing cold light, surged forth violently.
Behind the leader, Eugene and Carlotta occupied two corners, forming a triangle with him. Phantom projections of soul power radiating from their true spirits also emerged behind them.
Three beams of frigid soul radiance merged as one, shooting toward Leylin in an instant like a bolt of white lightning.
