"Ding! Database updated! Restart complete!"
Once Leilin had flipped through half the book in his hands, the Chip — which had fallen silent earlier — finally spoke up once more.
"Excellent! Let's see what's different after the upgrade."
Leilin's attention snapped away from the book and plunged into the Chip.
"Ding! Soul Power database finalized. Collecting host data. Recalculating!" The Chip's first notification left Leilin's face brimming with elation.
"The Soul Power database has finally been deduced?"
He had been frustrated by the Chip's inability to quantify Soul Power for a long time. He had gathered no small amount of spirit data, conducted numerous experiments and theoretical proofs, yet still couldn't complete the Soul database.
But now, the Chip had finally deduced this aspect in full.
"Show me my current status!" Leilin commanded immediately.
"Leilin Farell. Fourth-level Warlock. Bloodline: Komoein Giant Serpent (Full Form). Strength: 50. Agility: 45. Constitution: 74.9. Spiritual Power: 956.8. Mana: 956 (mana determined by Spiritual Power in sync). Soul Power: 96 (Five Stars)."
The Chip began feeding back results.
"96 Soul Power? And what does 'Five Stars' mean?" Leilin immediately began querying.
A burst of information was then displayed by the Chip: "The Star Rating is a Morning Star evaluation system created by Sky City based on Astral Plane creatures as the standard. A newly advanced Morning Star is one star; the peak of Morning Star is five stars…"
"So that's how it works. What creature was used as the standard?" Leilin had little interest in the star rating itself. What he truly craved to research was the creature that served as the benchmark for Morning Star Wizards.
"The creature used to establish the standard is an indigenous inhabitant of the Astral Plane — the Star Phantom Race! Members of this race possess Morning Star-level strength from the moment of birth. Their ultimate power level is unknown. They went extinct in ancient times. Sky City's wizards obtained partial ancient data records, which formed the basis of this entire evaluation system!"
"The Star Phantom Race?! Indigenous inhabitants of the Astral Plane?! Morning Star strength from birth?!"
This information stunned Leilin. He had never imagined that somewhere like the Astral Plane actually had native inhabitants — and not just any inhabitants, but beings of such terrifying power that they were Morning Stars from the day they were born.
Compared to the Star Phantom Race, creatures like the Komoein Giant Serpent might as well burst into tears. Their ultimate endpoint was merely the starting line of the Star Phantom Race! There was simply no comparison — they weren't even on the same plane of existence.
"Such a privileged race, and they still went extinct. The ancient era must have run far deeper than anyone realizes…" Leilin sighed deeply.
"The standard Star Phantom Race individual data has been obtained. Would you like to convert the unit of measurement?" the Chip inquired.
Leilin's current units were still based on his previous life's standards, which made many of his stats appear inflated — after all, they were measured against an ordinary person's baseline. But if he switched to the Star Phantom Race's standard, those numbers would plummet instantly.
For instance, his current system used a normal human's baseline strength as 1. Switching to the Star Phantom Race's monstrous power as 1 would naturally produce a fundamentally different scale.
"Change the units? I'll give it a try!" Leilin stroked his chin. "Display!"
Ding! A flash of blue light swept past, and the data panel before Leilin shifted at once.
"Leilin Farell. Fourth-level Warlock. Bloodline: Komoein Giant Serpent (Full Form). Strength: 1.5. Agility: 1.2. Constitution: 2.7. Spiritual Power: 4.3. Soul Power: 4.3 (Five Stars)."
Staring at the drastically shrunken numbers, Leilin was left rather speechless.
"So my current Strength and Constitution are only slightly above a Morning Star-level Star Phantom Race individual. Constitution is roughly twice theirs, Spiritual Power and Soul strength over four times… Overall, I'm about as strong as two or three Star Phantom Race members?"
This comparison caught Leilin off guard. As things stood, he was considered a peak figure among all the Morning Stars across the Central Continent — capable of even fighting a Brilliant Moon. Yet among the Star Phantom Race, he was only marginally stronger than a toddler?
He had to admit, that was rather deflating.
"Forget it. I'll stick with the previous units for now. At least the smaller the unit, the higher the precision!" Leilin stroked his chin. "Once all my stats skyrocket in the future, I'll switch to the Star Phantom Race units then. That'll make more sense!"
With a flicker from the Chip, his previous data reverted to the original standard.
"Would you like to display the host's Soul Status Diagram? Yes / No?"
At that moment, another prompt box popped up from the Chip.
"Of course!" Leilin answered without hesitation. Now that the Soul Power database had been finalized, his grasp of soul energy had grown far more refined — he could even accomplish many things that had previously been out of reach.
The Soul Status Diagram was one of them.
