Chapter 500: The Twin Serpents of Apocalypse

January 17, 2020 · 4 min read · 894 words

"Sir? Have you made your decision?"

Before Faisal, the dark figure of black qi was indescribably smug.

Being able to coerce the leader of a massive organization like the Ouroboros Circle — the thrill was simply intoxicating. Watching the other party's expression of struggle made him secretly even more delighted.

What's more, if this mission succeeded, it would mean yet another merit upon his return — perhaps enough to earn him rewards he had never dared to imagine!

"Report, sir!"

At that moment, a senior warlock pushed open the door and, paying no attention whatsoever to the dark figure's presence, began his report: "The operation went smoothly! Seven traitors captured, twelve killed! The magical array's energy source remains intact — only 2.75% losses..."

"What is the meaning of this?" The envoy's voice immediately turned cold.

"What is the meaning? Exactly what you see!"

A cold smirk suddenly appeared on Faisal's face. His entire figure appeared before the dark figure of black qi in an instant, and he seized it by the neck, lifting it off the ground.

"You dare! The lords outside won't let you get away with this!" Yet at this point, the figure actually calmed down.

"I'll be waiting!" Faisal nodded, saying with utmost seriousness: "You thought that being in a state of mental projection meant I couldn't do anything to you? You couldn't be more wrong!"

The moment his words fell, the blurred face of the dark figure contorted with shock. Faisal chuckled coldly: "Pity — it's already too late!"

BOOM! An enormous surge of blue electricity immediately coursed through the dark figure, causing its head to explode like a watermelon.

"With these chaotic data streams flooding through, even the original body's sea of consciousness will inevitably suffer irreversible damage!"

Faisal sighed and said slowly.

"Wisely done, sir!" The warlock who had just entered immediately bowed deeply.

"It's nothing — merely a small trick, utterly insignificant in the grand scheme of things." Faisal sighed. "The Ouroboros Circle is my home. It is the foundation upon which all of us Komoyin Giant Serpent bloodline warlocks depend. I very much desire to seize control of it, but I would never destroy it..."

...

BANG!

Outside the city, upon hearing the disastrous news — and witnessing one of his contacts literally have his head blown apart — the green-haired wizard finally erupted in fury.

"Release the War Behemoth Kogas immediately!"

"But sir—" an attendant beside him attempted to speak, but the green-haired wizard cut him off: "I have the authority, and I will explain to the lords later. But right now, I want those ungrateful warlocks to pay in blood!"

"Guu... guuu..."

As the order to unleash the War Behemoth was relayed, the warlocks battling on the front lines immediately heard a strange, guttural roar.

It sounded like a broken drum — thick with heavy, labored breathing, oppressively deep, suffocating in its weight.

BANG!

BANG!

The ground began to tremble. The mere footsteps were enough to send the entire city into a faint shudder — just how terrifying was the tonnage of this creature?

Faisal's heart sank. He swiftly rose to the highest vantage point.

There, he beheld a colossal beast, standing on all four legs, with a sharp horn jutting from its head. It had already risen to the height of the airship fleet. The massive airships scrambled to make way, raising their signal flags as they climbed higher or swerved aside.

RUMMMBLE! As the War Behemoth drew closer, its immense aura bore down on Faisal until he could barely draw breath.

When the War Behemoth finally came to a halt outside the headquarters, Faisal thought for a moment he was looking at an entire mountain range!

"Guu... guuu..." War Behemoth Kogas roared in fury. A terrifying shockwave swept across the battlefield, and the violent wind pressure sent men and horses tumbling in every direction.

"Morning Star! A Morning Star-level high-energy creature!"

Faisal's face was rigid, his fingers clenched so tight they nearly drew blood. "This purge has clearly enraged them — they've actually brought out one of their ultimate weapons of mass destruction!"

On the other side, the faction that had released the War Behemoth was faring no better.

"Sir! Unsealing it like this — is it really wise? We haven't completed the final calibration... and many of our allies have been caught in the crossfire..."

A wizard grimaced bitterly as he gazed upon the enormous Kogas, feeling a heavy weight settle in his chest.

This creature was no product of nature — it was a laboratory creation, modified and refined by a Morning Star wizard. Even its daily food consumption alone was enough to make a Morning Star wizard's heart ache!

In fact, when not in use, the beast was kept in a state of ice-sealed stasis. The very Morning Star wizard who had created it had even declared that even a large wizard organization, if it kept Kogas without restraint, would inevitably be eaten into bankruptcy!

Of course, with such staggering consumption came commensurate value.

The physical constitution of this War Behemoth had already reached the Morning Star realm. Combined with its colossal form, terrifying defensive capabilities, and regenerative abilities, any fortified city was nothing but a joke before it.

Moreover, because its intelligence had been sealed, even Third-rank Wizards could barely command it — vastly extending its practical utility.
