"What a pity..."
Leilin sighed. If he spent every last Magic Stone he had and sold off a few more of his collections, it wouldn't be entirely impossible to compete, but his primary reason for coming here was still the Astral Stone. Wings of the Sun was fine, but it didn't quite meet his needs.
However, if Duke Gilbert were here, he would probably be willing to pay an astronomical price just for the sake of research alone!
A high-grade bloodline! And a top-tier Meditation Method! For a Bloodline Warlock, both were irresistible temptations.
When the Blue Mountain Auction House had first acquired this lot, they had certainly exhausted every means at their disposal. Only after determining that the Bloodline of the Sun Child on the item was unusable had they reluctantly put it up for auction. Otherwise, they would hardly have minded pivoting to become a warlock clan.
As far as Leilin knew, on this entire continent, there was not a single warlock clan whose bloodline source had reached the sixth rank. In other words, if someone truly managed to utilize the blood on that broken sword along with the Meditation Method, a Bloodline Warlock's Radiant Sun Throne might just rise upon the Central Continent!
"The loss of bloodline vitality — there's absolutely no way to reverse it on the current Central Continent!"
Leilin recalled the bloodline fusion and modification data he had obtained from the Quicksand Organization.
"If I used their modification techniques, combined with my Chip's genetic recombination function, it might actually work..."
But even if it succeeded, it would merely add one more rare ancient bloodline collectible to Leilin's inventory.
He already possessed a pure sample of Ancient Red Dragon bloodline, but after extensive research, he had unfortunately discovered that he was unable to convert his own bloodline. He couldn't even begin to figure out synthesis or modification.
A warlock's bloodline existed not merely within the physical body but was also fused at the level of the soul. Currently, Leilin was still entirely in the dark about this aspect.
Only after advancing to the Morning Star realm, with his Spiritual Power continuously sublimated, could one begin to touch the realm of soul power.
Therefore, even if there were a way to restore the Bloodline of the Sun Child, Leilin had no intention of auctioning off this treasure.
In fact, his interest in the Wings of the Sun Meditation Method was even greater than his interest in the bloodline itself.
"An ancient, top-tier Meditation Method..."
Compared to the Eye of Komoin — a high-grade Meditation Method for Bloodline Warlocks — Wings of the Sun was also a bloodline Meditation Method, but it was clearly several tiers above.
The Eye of Komoin had only four layers in total. This was determined by the bloodline origin of the Komoin Giant Serpent — the serpent itself was a fourth-rank creature, and so its bloodline also formed a ceiling for its warlocks. No Komoin Bloodline Warlock had ever broken through to the fourth rank, so naturally there could be no Meditation Method with more than four layers.
But the Sun Child was different. Its original form was a powerful sixth-rank being, and so the Wings of the Sun Meditation Method had six layers, reaching the level of a top-tier Meditation Method.
According to the general convention on the Central Continent, only a Meditation Method that possessed at least four layers — enough to allow a Wizard to advance to the Morning Star — was qualified to be called a high-grade Meditation Method!
And a top-tier Meditation Method required at least six layers or more, enabling a Wizard to glimpse the path to the Radiant Sun!
Leilin would naturally not settle for the four-layer Eye of Komoin Meditation Method alone. His goal was the Radiant Sun Throne! Godhood! And the even higher realms beyond! Therefore, the Wings of the Sun Meditation Method still held considerable appeal for him — at the very least, it could serve as a template for improving the Eye of Komoin.
But... was it worth paying such an enormous price for a Meditation Method that was merely of reference value?
Leilin shook his head, banishing the thought from his mind.
"A Meditation Method isn't a physical object — it's just text and visual data. Since the Blue Mountain Family confirmed that the Meditation Method is complete, they must have kept a copy. They probably even retained a small sample of the Bloodline of the Sun Child! Perhaps I could approach it from that angle..."
Leilin stroked his chin and fell into deep thought.
After a brief silence, the wizards below finally responded.
"Two hundred and ten million Magic Stones!" An aged voice rang out from one of the VIP chambers.
This seemed to be a signal. Numerous bids immediately followed, nearly flooding the display screen.
A top-tier Meditation Method combined with an ancient bloodline — their value was beyond estimation. Although their practical use was limited, the collection value alone far exceeded the starting price.
Moreover, the vastness and mystery of the arcane arts were not something that present-day wizards could fully explore.
Who knew — perhaps hidden in some corner of the Central Continent was a powerful technique capable of activating the Bloodline of the Sun Child. If that were the case, buying this lot at a low price today would be an incredible windfall!
And wizards who harbored this thought were certainly not few in number.
Not to mention those wealthy Morning Star Wizards, who might very well bid on this item just for the sake of research alone.
While it was unlikely that the Blue Mountain Auction could attract wizards of that caliber, there were always exceptions.
In a top-tier VIP chamber clearly much larger than the one Leilin occupied, a wizard with a gaunt face, silver pupils, and robes that seemed to scream like demons smiled. "I didn't expect that a casual stroll out would reveal such a fine collectible!"
He did not use the bidding device, but simply said in a soft voice, "One billion Magic Stones."
