Leilin felt he had already pieced together the general sequence of events.
In ancient times, after the Mother of Ten Thousand Serpents failed in her struggle for sovereignty over the Shadow World, she led her blood descendants and migrated outward. Perhaps before settling in the Inferno World, or perhaps after that point, she launched an invasion of the Frost World.
The natives of the Frost World naturally rose up to resist.
In Leilin's view, that scorpion man had clearly been subjected to some powerful form of mental suggestion. And to be able to interfere spiritually with the judgment of a Morning Star-level being—it was either the work of that female giant or the will of the entire world itself.
The final result was that the female giant was slain, but through the last desperate efforts of the Iceberg Flying Dragon, the Mother of Ten Thousand Serpents' invasion plan was still thwarted.
During the great battle, the female giant was killed, and a single drop of blood fell onto the scorpion man's back. He was severely wounded as a result, unable to avoid a spatial rift, and was swept inside.
Finally, of course, this scorpion man drifted through the spatial passage to the Dark Pinnacle Domain and ultimately died from his injuries.
Even so, he had been a Morning Star Wizard in life, and moreover carried a trace of the female giant's bloodline—whose power was truly unfathomable. As a result, this region after his death was affected by frost radiation, forming terrain and climate strikingly similar to that of the Frost World.
And these Icejade Scorpions clearly bore some connection to the scorpion man, but they had degenerated significantly. The human upper body had completely vanished, with no trace of similar features remaining.
"That's precisely why these Icejade Scorpions can only survive here! They are actually creatures from another world, and only in this place filled with special frost radiation can they live and reproduce..."
Leilin sighed and thought again of the Mother of Ten Thousand Serpents.
According to his speculation, the Mother of Ten Thousand Serpents must have attacked the Frost World after settling in the Inferno World, because this place was vitally important to her and to her entire race.
After the plan to seize the Shadow World was thwarted, she had no choice but to withdraw and lead her people to settle in the Inferno World.
But in truth, the fire nature of the Inferno World was fundamentally incompatible with shadow-type serpent creatures. Although through reproduction and the species' own adaptability, the race managed to multiply in the Inferno World—even acquiring fire attributes—they had also absorbed a great deal of the Inferno World's chaotic will into their bloodline.
This might well be the origin of the Bloodpython warlocks' emotional bloodline disease! After all, the emotional tendencies of serpent creatures shouldn't have been intense enough to spiral into uncontrollable rage on their own.
According to Leilin's theory, the occupational ailment of ancient serpent bloodline warlocks should have been extreme apathy, along with certain hibernation-like characteristics. But clearly, after the Inferno World's chaotic will was introduced, this emotional tendency had been altered.
From the original cold nature to a fiery temper.
That was why the Mother of Ten Thousand Serpents attacked the Frost World again—she likely hoped to use the Frost World's cold will to cure her race's bloodline disease.
Of course, in the end, her plan still failed, but the Frost World had also paid an enormous price.
And for that very reason, the breath crystals of the Icejade Scorpions from the Frost World had a beneficial therapeutic effect on Leilin's own bloodline emotional instability.
"Whew… what a complicated web of connections!" Leilin pressed his forehead, which ached from deep contemplation.
"Although it's all just my speculation, it should be about right. Even if I'm wrong, it doesn't really matter, because the Mother of Ten Thousand Serpents, the Iceberg Flying Dragon, and the Inferno, Frost, and Shadow Worlds are all far too distant from me…"
Leilin smiled bitterly. "I only need to know one thing—the Icejade Scorpion King's breath can indeed cure my warlock emotional instability. That's more than enough!"
"Chip! Establish a plan! Extract the Icejade Scorpion King's breath crystals and design my treatment process!"
Leilin immediately issued the command.
"Task established. Beginning analysis! Constructing data model!" The Chip, receiving its orders, sprang into rapid operation.
Leilin stroked his chin and fell into deep thought.
Honestly, having witnessed that scene from the ancient battle, it was impossible for him to feel no stirring at all. That single drop of blood that had fallen onto the scorpion man's back especially ignited Leilin's immense research interest.
That was a bloodline that far surpassed the Morning Star level—or even fifth-tier Grand Wizards—reaching at minimum the sixth or seventh tier, a level that even ancient wizards could barely aspire to.
If he obtained it, how far could Leilin's own power advance?
Although warlocks could not switch bloodlines, even merely studying the blood of such an existence would produce indescribable, immeasurable effects on Leilin's path.
Moreover, that scorpion man had been a Morning Star Wizard in life. His bloodline needed no purification—it was already the purest ancient creature bloodline possible.
Leilin's breathing gradually grew heavier, and he wished he could immediately delve deep into the Frost Cavern to search for the scorpion man's remains.
But almost immediately, a bitter smile appeared on his face.
Based on some survival memories left within the Icejade Scorpion King's bloodline, Leilin knew that the territory controlled by the Nature Alliance and a few other schools was actually only a tiny fraction of the Frost Cavern's surface layer.
In the deeper underground, all manner of frost creatures survived—dozens or even hundreds of times more powerful than the Icejade Scorpion King—forming what was essentially a miniature frost world.
And the scorpion man's remains were located at the very bottom of that frost world, at minimum.
It was a place where second-tier frost creatures were ubiquitous, and the appearance of even third-tier creatures would not be surprising in the least.
Even if Leilin himself had advanced to a third-tier warlock, he could not guarantee he would emerge unscathed. To fully break through and claim the bloodline and remains, he would need at minimum the strength of a Morning Star Wizard.
"Strength! In the end, it always comes down to strength!" Leilin smiled bitterly and abandoned his plan to venture deeper for now.
