A silver-white beam of light shot from the horizon like an arrow.
Boom!
The silver-white bolt of light struck the ground in front of Leilin, showering the area with countless stone fragments.
When the light faded, it revealed the figure of an old man dressed in a silver-white formal robe.
The old man had a nose curved like an eagle's beak, metal ornaments hung from his face, and a pair of eyes radiating a sharp, keen light stared fixedly at Leilin.
"You're not running?"
The old man then opened his right hand, and a metallic sphere materialized from his palm, as if it had been inside his body all along.
The silver-white metal sphere circled the area once. The look of surprise on the old man's face deepened, even carrying a hint of confusion.
"There are no traps or ambushes either? Did you come here to die?"
"No! I just want to settle some matters!" Leilin smiled indifferently. This time, his primary goal was still data collection; his trump cards, Number Two and Number Three, were naturally left behind.
Although he hadn't seen this old man before, Leilin recognized him instantly. This was the Grand Elder of the Lilisite Family, and also the grandfather of the apprentice Posain, who had died at Leilin's hand.
Previously, by the small town near the Great Magalie Canyon, this old man had once manipulated a clone to pursue him. During that battle, this old man's face had surfaced over the clone's chest.
"Right! It's been so long, and I still don't know your name?"
Leilin said with a smile.
The old man gave Leilin a deep look. "As a powerful individual, you have the right to know my name—Marbu Lilisite! Remember it well! It is the name of the man who will send you to hell!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, a massive ring of silver-white light suddenly erupted from Marbu's body.
Crack! Crack!
Countless metal spikes burst from the ground, rising continuously and coalescing in mid-air to form a cage-like dome of metal, trapping both Leilin and Marbu inside.
"War Prison of Metal!" Marbu rapidly performed several hand gestures.
Having witnessed a portion of Leilin's strength, Marbu already considered him a formal opponent. Now that he attacked, his first priority was to prevent Leilin from fleeing.
Clang!
A halo of silver-white metallic energy particles radiated from Marbu's body. This halo was even larger and more complete than that of a Half-Elementalized
His spiritual elementalization had reached at least 80 percent. This enhancement manifested in his magical arts as a power boost of nearly double!
Shoo-shoo!
From the surface of the metal cage, streams of light flowed, and suddenly countless small white spikes emerged. These spikes had barbs, and their tips shone with a chilling gleam that made one's heart tremble.
Countless spikes, like sharp arrows, whistled through the air with fierce force, shooting out in all directions to completely block off any avenue for Leilin to dodge.
Furthermore, enchantment glows could be seen on the spikes—they had clearly been augmented with some sort of auxiliary magical arts enhancing sharpness or durability!
An attack of this magnitude, if directed at a newly-advanced Wizard, would turn any number of them into hedgehogs instantly!
But Leilin made no move to dodge.
Boom!
A ring of black flames suddenly erupted from his body.
These flames flowed like liquid, covering his entire body, seeming to clad him in a suit of black armor. A massive wave of heat immediately swept through the entire cage, forcing even Marbu, who stood farther away, to frown.
Pfft! Pfft!
The silver-white spikes began to flicker and showed signs of melting as they approached the flames.
When they collided with Leilin's
Ting-ting-tang-tang!
Sounds like pearls falling onto a plate rang out continuously. These metal particles struck the dark red protective layer behind the flames, producing a crisp, pleasant sound, then lost all momentum and fell to the ground, rolling in circles.
Seeing this, the expression on Marbu's face instantly turned grave, even carrying a trace of wariness!
"Your speed of growth truly exceeds my imagination! I'm starting to regret it now... I should have sent a few more clones back then and exterminated you there completely..."
Marbu's clone had witnessed Leilin's strength before. While it had been quite impressive, it was comparable to a Half-Elementalized Wizard. Had it not been just a clone, and had Leilin's magical arts not been so astonishingly bizarre, Marbu believed that the Leilin of that time might not have escaped his pursuit!
But now, the strength the opponent displayed was already very close to that of a peak First-rank Wizard!
What was even more terrifying was that the interval between these two points in time was less than two or three years! An ordinary First-rank Wizard likely hadn't even shed the label of being newly-advanced yet!
"I absolutely cannot let him live. Otherwise, I will be bringing a powerful and terrifying enemy upon our Lilisite Family..."
A sudden clarity dawned in Marbu's heart.
With this thought, the killing intent in his heart surged. In an instant, his eyes transformed into a silver-white hue, as if forged from solid silver.
