As for that woman Besta, Leilin had already cast her completely from his mind.
In his view, although Besta had played tricks on him at the start, she had ultimately received her punishment.
By now, they were squared away. After this, whether that woman lived or died was entirely up to her own luck — what did that have to do with Leilin?
At the entrance to the Four Seasons Garden's secret realm.
Surrounding a platinum gate identical to the one outside, the Four Seasons Garden had constructed a vast, densely packed complex of buildings here.
Before the platinum gate's secret realm entrance, two lines of Wizards and apprentices appeared to be queuing.
Following the lines ahead, one could see a dedicated purchasing station set up by the Four Seasons Garden.
Although after deducting the Four Seasons Garden's share, these Wizards were free to dispose of the remainder of their harvest as they pleased,
they preferred to exchange it for resources more suited to their own needs — or even portable Magic Stone crystal cards and the like.
All of which could be obtained right here.
Therefore, Leilin estimated that in addition to the confiscated portions, at least another fifty to sixty percent of resources had been bought up by the Four Seasons Garden through this arrangement.
Bzzzz!!!
At that very moment, a fierce burst of red light erupted from before the platinum gate.
The crimson beam of light seemed to possess a mind of its own as it pointed straight at a Wizard whose expression had turned flustered.
"Take him down!"
Immediately, a Wizard from the guard detail stepped forward and waved his hand.
Two iron-armored figures — their surfaces adorned with magical symbols flickering with arcane light — stepped forward at once, grabbing the unfortunate fellow from either side.
"Oh! No!"
The Wizard screamed in desperation as two palm-sized fireballs slammed into the approaching armored figures.
Boom!!!
Flames licked outward and waves of heat rippled in all directions, forcing the surrounding Wizards to scatter.
Once the flames subsided, the two iron-armored figures still stood there completely unscathed — not so much as a scratch visible on the surface of their armor.
"Assaulting law enforcement personnel — the penalty is doubled! Take him away!"
The Wizard's face was cold as his order rang out. The two iron-armored figures strode forward and subdued the offending Wizard on the spot.
"So pitiful! That Wizard must have been smuggling something and tried to sneak it past..."
A Wizard standing next to Lei Lin whispered softly.
Lei Lin nodded, knowing that every resource produced within the Ganges Secret Realm carried a unique aura on it. This aura would dissipate quickly once taken outside, and it had no effect on the items themselves. But the White Wizards had specifically exploited this property to create a detection formation.
As long as any Wizard attempted to smuggle something, the formation would instantly detect the Wizard leaking this aura.
Therefore, since Four Seasons Garden and the other White Wizard alliances had adopted this formation, not a single Wizard had managed to successfully smuggle anything out.
Lei Lin naturally knew this as well, which was why he had refused to accept the Dark Mandrala as payment during the last operation and had only asked for Magic Stones.
"Welcome! Welcome! Wizard Lei Lin!"
Passing through numerous buildings along the way, Lei Lin arrived at the Security Group's office area from last time.
This time, it was Druin who had personally come out to greet him.
Druin's attitude this time was exceedingly good, with a faint undercurrent of apology woven into it.
When Lei Lin had first arrived last time, Druin had assumed he was merely a Wizard who had been sidelined and pushed out, someone sent to District Thirteen of all places — a man who probably wouldn't last more than a few days before ending up as a corpse on the wasteland. As a result, his attitude had been far from pleasant; he had practically treated Lei Lin like a plague to be gotten rid of.
But now, with reports of Lei Lin's various exploits pouring in, Druin was finding it hard to sit still.
Heavens! Even he himself was only marginally stronger than a semi-elementalized Wizard, yet Lei Lin, in just over half a month, had brought in nearly a dozen semi-elementalized Wizards!
And just recently, in the latest reshuffling at Four Seasons Garden, Lei Lin had been directly reassigned back to this entrance headquarters. According to the orders from above, there were even signs that they intended to put him to important use.
On top of that, there were senior figures within Four Seasons Garden speaking up for him during personnel changes.
That meant Lei Lin was not alone — he had backing! Strength and backing — that was a deadly combination.
Druin was now deeply regretting his behavior from last time, and had come out specifically to welcome Lei Lin in hopes of building a good relationship.
"Deputy Group Leader Druin! It's been a while!"
